Adelaide Anne Procter (1825–1864)

Procter, Adelaide Anne. An English poet, daughter of Bryan W.; born at London, Oct. 30, 1825; died on Feb. 2, 1864. She wrote ‘Legends and Lyrics’ (1858), which went through nine editions in seven years; and a second series (1860), which had a like success. (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
