If I were an advocate for victims, tasked with implementing victim oriented services for a law enforcement agency, I would include report taking over the phone or internet, training, a victim advocacy unit, clearance rates for detectives, and a customer satisfaction survey. Below is how my checklist would appear (Karmen, 2016).

After William Penn received the land known today as the city of Philadelphia, he wanted to assure there would be order within his land and thus appointed a sheriff. Starting as early as 1700, a Philadelphia ‘night watch’ was established to keep a watch throughout the city in order to be aware of any criminal activity going on throughout the night. NYC policing has been an ongoing problem for many years now, but in recent years it has gone to the point that civilians are starting to kill off our protection. What are the main issues for the police to abuse their power on us citizen’s, is it being racist affecting on how they do their job or is it another element being in played for cops to abuse their powers? In my paper, I will be talking about the certain trainings that an officer should receive before and after finishing the police academy. Crime prevention is achieved through positive interaction with police and the community. The goals of community policing are to reduce crime and disorder, promote citizens’ quality of life in communities, reduce fear of crime, and improve police–citizen relations.
