When I was little and growing up in the deep south of South Carolina I was taught that guns aren’t bad, the people who misuse guns are bad. I was not taught to be a racist or think that all black people are bad and that all of them carry guns and are out to hurt white people, quite the opposite actually; I was taught to love every person the same whether they be black or white, male or female, gay or straight, no matter what, love everyone. And even today as an 18 year old white female freshman in college who was shot by a 24 year old black male, I still love everyone and refrain from judging based upon stereotypes.
