Why shouldn't we wear uniforms? I’m against school uniforms for many reasons, such as individuality and cost. Students have no choice but to wear uniforms but if it was up to most students they’ll say “no I wouldn’t want to wear it!” I’m against school uniforms because I like being different, and when wearing school uniforms you’re not different you look like everyone else, because it’s a 85% possibility that you're going to have the same thing on as someone else. My first reason for being against school uniform is individuality. When I say individuality I mean it as expressing yourself, wearing what you want to wear, not what you have to wear. Also, individuality can mean expression of course, freedom, and detrimental effects on students
Uniforms have been used for centuries for things like sports, military affairs, and to help identify someone that is affiliated with a group or an organization. One place they should not be used is in public schools. In this day in age uniforms are still being argued and could still appear is school around the country causing problems. When I was in middle school I had uniforms for about four years and it made me hate school even more. None of the benefits that administration said we would get from uniforms ever materialized. They said it would put an end to bullying and we would still have some kind of freedom when it came to picking accessories. The uniforms were costly for my parents and as a student it made it hard for me to express myself. With that being said middle school students should not be required to wear school uniforms.
Uniforms violate our first amendment. It doesn’t let students be themselves in the way they want to dress. There are pros about having uniform, but there are more cons because clothes don’t break rules. Students should not be required to wear school uniform.
School uniform enhances school unity and community spirit and gives every student an equal status, regardless of race, religion or culture, whether they are from the upper, middle or working class backgrounds. This leads to young people feeling secure as a group and less likely to be bullied for not wearing the latest fashion trend, thus banning uniforms would be atrocious.
The second reason why I would prefer not to have school uniforms is because of how uncomfortable they are. You would be in class and be interrupting class because you are so uncomfortable all of the time.
People say you are what you wear. Well, uniforms are expensive and are a violation of human rights, even though it’s professional and sober clothing, they don’t allow students to express who they are, so how are they supposed to be what they wear? People say it prevents bullying, but bullying can happen without uniform. School uniform promotes conformity over individuality. They are difficult to enforce in public schools. It is more money to pay for uniforms and normal clothes outside of school. There really isn’t a uniform in real life like working if you work as a janitor at a school it doesn’t matter what you wear it matters that you get the job done.
The big talk of most schools now are uniforms. Some people think that they are a great idea. Some people don't like the fact that schools are applying a uniform policy. A lot of controversy has been rising in the school systems about uniform instead of education. I believe that schools have uniforms because students had a higher bullying rate when we were able to wear regular clothes and it helps people more worried about themselves, when everybody is wearing the same thing. It could really go either way.
Would you want to be forced to wear the same clothing every day and not able to express yourself? Uniforms don’t seem such a big deal to the society but to the kids who have to wear them it is a big deal to them. Most schools don’t have uniforms because of the first amendment for freedom of expression. School districts should think about what the kids think about the uniforms instead of forcing them to wear them.
Why do we need uniforms? Most student have their own style, but a common argument against school uniforms is that they take away the students right to show their sense of style, creativity and culture. Yes, school uniforms may limit what the students have to wear, but he/she can still have their own ways of self-expression in many forms. Students can still express their style of choice by what shoes they pick, color of the shoe laces, how he or she styles their hair, what accessories they add, jacket they wear or socks; there are many ways. Uniforms are still versatile where they will not be breaking the dress code policy the school has set. Just because a student can’t wear the most latest Polo ,Lacrosse , or Hollister shirt or jeans to school doesn’t mean that his/her rights are taken away. School should be a place where Children come to learn, not to scope out the latest fashion trend. Outside of school, kids can wear and show off their unique sense of style.
Kids shouldn’t wear uniforms, because they can’t express what kind of style they like. It costs too much for families who already struggle to make ends meet. It violates the right to freedom of speech and expression. To a lot of people uniforms such. Uniform they take away your freedom of expression. Wearing school uniforms are the worst they make schools look bad.
Some think that a lot of negativity goes with school uniforms, and uniforms are just not worth it. However, the truth is that school uniforms have more pros than cons. Kids should have school uniforms because they create school pride, they let kids focus on education, and they make kids feel like they belong with their peers.
Students spend countless of hours in school listening to their teachers, or professors, and doing work. In some schools, they make their students wear school uniforms. This then raises an argument over should all students wear school uniforms; even if, they attend a public school. Even though students can be equal wearing uniforms, students should not need to wear uniforms. Wearing uniforms take away individualism, clothing is expensive to buy these days, and dress codes are getting ridiculous.
Imagine walking to school everyday in the same style clothes. Your entire wardrobe is full of blue buttoned up shirts and khakis or pink shirts and pink skirts. Has this ever happened to you? This is all from a confident sixth grader, and no, I’m not biased. I studied both sides and found reasons why kids should have uniforms. But still, I liked the reasons why kids shouldn’t have uniforms. You expect this to be my number one reason, “Kids should be able to wear what they want to,” nope, that’s not what this entire thing is going to be about. I have multiple reasons for you on why kids shouldn’t have uniforms.
School uniforms are common for some schools in the world. But other schools give kids their freedom.I believe school uniforms should not be permitted for schools and here are some reasons why.
The first major reason for not wearing school uniforms is, it forces a student to conceal his or her individuality. To many people, it appears that the school system is trying to strip away this individuality on purpose, but now is the time that the school should be embracing it and helping the student become the person they are meant to become. “According to opponents of uniforms, even preschoolers should have input into their wardrobe, and the need to encourage personality, confidence, and independence grows more important as the student becomes older” (Chen). Because of this lack of self-expression, students feel their first amendment is being violated and most people would agree, which causes the school to look bad. Another way of looking at it is they are forcing students to become on mold, or one certain way of being. However, the problem with making them one is, no matter how they look they will still have their own individual personality traits that will come out in the end. If forced to wear the uniforms, many students would express these traits by adding things to their uniform such as brightly colored gems for girls and different
School uniforms has always been an issue in school, at least for my case since I've always believed that uniforms are just not my taste. Safe to say that a lot of people would disagree with me when I say that I'd rather wear casual than those tacky uniforms. Some would say that it's a waste of money and effort but what they don't see is that what you wear is a clear reflection of who you are and it brings up your confidence because you built that outfit for yourself and you know that it's what would make you comfortable. It's what would make you stand out and what could make you feel more motivated to go to school because you always plan out what you would wear for the whole week or at least for the day. I'd rather wear something I'm comfortable
