A second thing that makes nursing a good career is the amount you learn each and every day. I may learn something I already know but in a total different way; or something I was never taught in college. As a nurse, I will have a continuous opportunity for learning. Every day I will learn something new, and something different. Change is constant. Nurses are always learning new techniques and skills. Another thing that draws me towards the career is the flexibility. A nurse is able to obtain a job in almost any state as long as they get the correct license for the state. Also, they are able to work in many different settings. A nurse can work in an office setting where the hours are set and they work a normal eight to five job. They are also able to work in a hospital setting, the hours differ when working at a hospital and some are required to work weekends and holidays. The physical demands for both setting would be different. Hospital settings would require lots of walking from room to room as well as running in certain emergency settings. In either setting though a nurse is required to be on their feet for long periods of time. It is not a job to where you would be stuck behind a desk.

Throughout my four years of college, I wanted to learn about myself and the world. I did not want to follow a particular path or be strict with myself. Now, as a graduate I discovered my passion for health and helping people. I want to volunteer at New York Methodist Hospital because I want to learn more about health while getting to help people feel at peace during a difficult time in their life. I am ready to learn and I am ready for a new experience. I want to learn from accomplished individuals and further my knowledge in health for when I decide to go to nursing school. Having a career in the nursing field has many different positions and a wide variety selection, this job can be extremely exhausting and grueling but the hard work has many rewards and payoffs to it.

Some people have many kinds of goals. It is hard to give exact number people who are majored in nursing, but one thing that I know is that the demography is very wide and large. This is because people have different reasons for majoring in this career. I believe the best reason for majoring in nursing is because it has wide varieties of a career that one can major in.
