Why I Want To Join The National Honor Society

After the induction ceremony, I came before my mom, both of us smiling. Words were not necessary for me to know that my mom was proud of me. Being in National Honor Society was something that did not just made my parents proud, but it made me proud of myself. The honor of being in the club is not the only reason why the club is so valuable for me. It is the experience that I get form interacting and working with students from other grade levels that really inspires me. The club meetings and activities allow me to meet amazing individuals that I might have never had the opportunity to meet. Being inducted into National Honors Society requires a student to demonstrate all of the four qualities many of our role models in the present and in the past have possessed, which include: scholarship, service, leadership and character. As I’m considered a candidate for this group, I already possess the quality of scholarship and it is my duty in this paper to show that I hold the other three important attributes needed to qualify for this institution.

The National Honors Junior Society is one of the nation's prime organizations established to acknowledge outstanding middle school students. In order to be eligible to be a part of this society, students must exhibit certain achievements in different areas. Students must demonstrate excellence in areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. The purpose of this prestigious organization is to provide a strong foundation for building leadership skills through service to the school and the surrounding community. I should be a part of this society because I believe I posses great leadership, scholarship, character, citizenship, and service qualities.

When I was in 11th grade, I was given the opportunity to join the National Honor Society. Being a member has taught me multiple lessons and has offered me so many opportunities to help the community. With all that I have learned through my time with the National Honor Society, I have been given the opportunities that will and have changed my future.

Being selected as a member of Grove School’s National Honor Society would be a great honor for me because I hope to achieve my goal of exhibiting my dedication to academics, community service and extra circulars. I strive to be a role model and a resource for my peers by guiding them in the right direction. I think I could be a valuable addition to NHS because I have a strong work ethic, have a passion for helping people and not only meet but exceed all the qualifications of leadership, character, service and scholarship.

The National Honor Society is reputably known for its high standards. Those that are accepted to this esteem society are rewarded with several possibilities with the added benefit of just being part of this respected club. In order to be accepted into the prestigious organization known as National Honor Society, four main requirements must be met. These requirements are scholarship, service, character, and leadership. I would like to be a part of the National Junior Honor Society, because it is a huge honor to be recognized by the teaching staff of the Andrews Middle School. This society will also help me on future job applications. It would look good on any job I would apply too. Moreover, it is very nice to be recognized by the Andrews’ staff. I feel I demonstrate the five pillars and show leadership among my peers, and I am glad my hard work has been noticed. In addition. The National Honor Society is one of the most rewarding achievements a high school student can receive. The name itself represents all the pillars of honor that one hopes to achieve in their life. To be a member of Gradus Honoris is a position many students, including myself, strive towards, however, it is more than an envious position. To be a member represents academic excellence and hard work. The National Honor Society is an organization that serves the community while building the character of the individuals who are members. The National Honor Society provides the opportunity for a member to serve their community, and earn experience that will influence the rest of their life. Individuals are not separate from their community, and the NHS will provide its members with the opportunities to enrich the community together. As an individual, my capacity to serve my community is limited by individual talents, but as a member of the NHS I will better be able to serve my community in a group of like-minded individuals with different talents and abilities. As an organization, the National Honors Society is a prestigious group in which those of significant quality concerning character and high academic standard are accepted. In this, I believe that its members are often high contributors to society and often help others to the best of their ability. Although they are not always highly outspoken, members of NHS are frequently leaders in their community, in their schools, and elsewhere. As a result of these common traits found in its members, NHS must maintain a justified strict acceptance margin. Thus, my integrity of character, natural inclination for leadership, and understanding of the importance of activity in the community are all qualities which I posses that make me a viable candidate for membership in the National Honors Society.
