There are many things in the world that can shape a person throughout their lifetime, such as events, games, songs, books, and even people. In my opinion, the following can determine who people become: the environment that they are surrounded by and other people. Other people and the environment are in important in shaping a person. If a person isn’t surrounded by people or weren’t in that environment they wouldn’t be who they are. My parents, childhood bully, teachers, and even my first friends were the people who affected my development. If it weren’t for them, id be somebody else. My parents have been with me all my life. They obviously shaped who I am today because they’ve been raising me all these years. They taught me how to walk, …show more content…
Cantu. He was my English teacher and would always help me understand one part of the subject that I didn’t understand. He would also do group readings in the class and when we were done with the book, we would watch the movie adaptation if it existed. He would also help me prepare for the TAKS so that I would know how to structure my essays and help me analyze the story we were given. In my opinion, he made reading fun and that is why I enjoy reading and writing so much. Undoubtedly, I am better at writing and reading now, then I was before I had him. I now enjoy reading and writing since I understand the subject more and have learned how to continue improving on …show more content…
When I entered this school, I didn’t know anyone and felt as if I was alone and would never have any friends. Jackie was in my class and helped me get used to the school and told me what the school was like. Donovan and I met during recess and introduced me to my other friends, at that time, such as Julia. I was able to adjust to well to the new setting and people around me because of them. They showed me what true friends are and taught me that not everybody is mean. They made me a bit more social and allowed me to make more friends. They made me more trusting and more open to the idea of talking and meeting new
I was a very shy kid. Making friends wasn’t my cup of tea when I was younger. Based on this you can imagine how nervous I was when we moved. Joseph Campbell wrote in The Hero With a Thousand Faces, “It is only when a man tames his own demons that he becomes the king of himself if not of the world.” I was preparing to start school again in August when I decided it would be smart to begin associating with kids my age in the area; so, I began spending time with my cousin Lief. After spending some time with Lief, he introduced me to some of his friends and taught me to how to appreciate
Throughout my whole life my parents have told me many things. They told me to always do good in school and get good grades, never give up, and try my hardest. I listened to them no matter what, and without them I would not be able to graduate high school, go to college, and major in nursing. When I was in fifth grade I was in and out of the hospital for two months, because I had no vision in my right eye, blurry vision in my left eye, and weakness and loss of control in my
My parent have alway said to me, never to give up on what I'm trying to accomplish or the goal that I'm trying to reach even though if it seems impossible. That they will alway support me on anything that I want to do, maybe not financially wise because they will help the best they can. My whole life things were never just handed to me, I worked for them and some people tell me that my parents should do more for me that I shouldn't have to work so hard because I'm just 17 years old that I'll have the rest of my life to work, but I think differently because it made me realize life isn't just fun and games, it helped me mature faster then most kids, it also gave me life skills that will help me out in college and life after college.
My parents think of themselves as primarily self-sufficient. Because of this, we live on the peak of a hill in the middle of nowhere, far away from the hustle and bustle of our old home in the city. Although this is their ideal life, they realized that it may prevent me from expanding my own horizons. They have always encouraged me to follow my interests, even when it meant moving away from home at sixteen to go to college. Throughout my entire childhood, they have done everything in their power to ensure that I am prepared for the future. I believe that my parents have crafted me into a well-rounded individual by proving to me that any person can define their own version of success.
First, I must offer my gratitude to the students I have met over the years for sharing with me the burden that is high school and assisting me all the way. In high school, deadlines are tight, and the pressure to do well is overbearing, but something so simple as a friendship can go a long way in alleviating that stress.
For eighteen years now my parents have influenced me to do my best in academics and extracurricular activities. Both of my parents have gone to college and both have had successful careers. My dad was a highly recognized Police Chief for Waukesha County and is now on the
My parents raised me, their names are Mari and Martin Carrillo, I also have one older his name is Joshua Carrillo. My parents are the reason I am who I am today, They sacrificed so much for me and for my brother, my dad would work all day every day and he would get out of work pretty late. My mom would work during the day and get out at 4 and pick up me and my brother, take us home feed us and then go back to work for another 2 hours and be home by 6. They've always gave up and sacrificed so much for me and my brother to make sure we had food on the table and everything we needed for school and at home.
Ever since I was little and did not know how to do basic things like walk, talk or solve an algebraic equation. Naturally I would get discouraged and would not try to do it again. However, my parents effortlessly raised me, had encourage me to keep going. That I would get what I wanted if I put my heart into it. I’m not spoiled like Simon sinek would say we were raised with bad parenting skills.; my parents did not argue with my teachers over a stupid grade or to force me intro honors class room.
Walking into Booth Middle School on the first day of seventh grade, all I wanted was a friend. I cared little about whether they would make an impact on my life; as a newcomer to Peachtree City, I was open to befriend anyone. Within the first week, I met Annabelle. I was so preoccupied with the excitement of having a new friend that I was unaware of how greatly she would impact not only my first day, first week, or first year of middle school, but how vastly she would affect my future.
The people who I have “cherry-picked” to back me are the most remarkable people I could ever want. I love that if it is two a.m. and I crave a chuckle, I can text Liz, or if I must express my whole day’s endeavors to someone that Sophie will always listen, and above that, she even proposes the most beneficial advice. My friends are the most thoughtful, compassionate people I know, and I am so fortunate to have shared my upbringing with many of them. Growing up with generally the same people around me for the past seventeen years has permitted me to form relationships with truly remarkable people, and become delighted to encounter new individuals. Dobyns-Bennett High School is moderately large, but even so, there do not appear to be great deal of new students there. That being understood, I love seeing new faces in the halls. Meeting new people, and making friends is so exhilarating to
Outside forces continue to shape people, but character can be changed by one's actions. Your character is entirely what you set it out for it to be because when things are challenging it’s your choice on what you do with the outcome. People can build themselves into a better positive person or be affected in negative ways. I believe that people control over who they become and let every single choice will reflect on your character. In The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jay Gatsby invented his own character.
My parents constantly mold my life. I can proudly say that my parents shape me to be a better gentleman, and to be a better citizen of the world. Even as a child, my parents have guided me to change my morals and see the world in a different light. I am very grateful for a chance to correct the self-centered morals everyone has when they are a child. Some people do not have amazing mentors to model what they should do and what they should not do.
When we look at the science of human development, the main consideration is how people change over time. In the age old question of nature versus nurture, there are some that believe the characteristics and traits within us are innate, meaning we are born with them. Still others feel that nurturing, our environmental influences like friends, community, schools, media and even parents affect who we are. This is a false dichotomy, it is not which-but how much of each because both play crucial roles in our development (Berger 2015).
I believe that every person is shaped to be who they are, mostly by their surroundings. One main surrounding in life is school. You are surrounded by school almost your entire life. The school that I was surrounded by growing up was North Cape. North Cape has impacted me in countless ways. From organization, to individualized learning, or even just plain respect North Cape covers it all. All in all, North Cape has affected my life greatly.
My parents as well as my extended family have been crucial in providing the foundation for my beliefs, attitudes and values. I grew up
