In this book I will be explaining the differences the similarities and the conclusion. The differences are not big differences but differences that need to be seen. The book and the movie that I will be comparing are Where the Red Fern Grows published in 1961 and the movie which was out in 1974. They did some changes that probably had to be made to fit the time limit, so it wasn’t to long.I don’t know what the other movie which was published in 2003 is the newest one made. My reading class watched the 1974 version. And I am going to tell you about the differences. The first difference that caught my eye was how there was no cat, in the book there was a cat named, Sammie, and Sammie always got stuck in one of Billy’s traps. But in the movie
A major difference that the novel and the movie had was that Billy didn’t win the coon hunt in the movie. In the movie, a man named Sam Bellington won the coon hunt, but out of pity, gave the cup to Billy. This event was one of the vital events in the book. It was the culmination of all of Billy’s hard work and his dogs’ dedication. Another distinction was that Billy only saved for one year to earn money for his pups in the movie. This plot element was one of the many important times when Billy demonstrated his tenacity. It showed how devoted Billy was to earn his pups and how willing he was to work two years to earn enough. The fact that Billy only worked for one year to earn the money greatly diminishes his industrious mindset, Evidently, there are many differences between the novel and the movie adapted from
Only a person who actually read the books would be able to tell the slight differences that were made in the movie. One slight difference that was made in the movie was while in the book Mr.Tumnus decides not to drug Lucy, he drugs her in the movie and the lion (Aslan) saves her. I think that the filmmakers changed this part of the movie so the people who did not read the book would be more interested to find out who the lion is and why he saved Lucy. Another slight difference was when Mr.Tumnus and Lucy run through the forest while talking about why they are running instead of just running to escape. Again, the filmmakers probably just added this to the storyline to make suspense and keep the movie goers interested. The other slight difference
I am going to tell you 3 differences between the book and the movie In the book they all went to the spring and mae, jesse and miles told winnie there story about the spring. That
The first noticeable difference was Old Major’s death. In the book, after he gives his speech, he dies peacefully in his sleep three days later. In the movie however, Old Major is shot accidentally by Mr. Jones, who was trying to quiet the animals during the night. This change in the story was a welcome addition, used to highlight Mr. Jones’ cruelty and showing the oppression the animals were
In the movie there were bunnies, but in the book there was no bunnies.Theirś a farmer in the book, but theirś no farmer in the movie.Thereś kids in the movie asking for money, but thereś no kids in the book asking for money.Johnnyś mom and Dally doesn't get in a fight in the movie, but in the book they get in
There are two main differences between the two. There is a lack of minor (yet important) characters, and there was some hoodwink when it came down to major book themes and their movie adaptation. The thing that gets me the most is the minor details that were dropped in the movie. But that
The movie was much different from the book, from the beginning to the very end. In the beginning when Billy was on the train he was talking to this man who looked like maybe he was a priest. Then when they got off the train the priest told Billy, out of nowhere, that there was a hotel down the road and that there were tons of “B&Bs” that were much cheaper. As Billy was walking to the Bell And Dragon, it was still day time. It showed the landlady fixing the room up as he was walking. Also when he did see the B&B he couldn’t see the living room. When he walked inside the landlady locked to door behind him. When she was telling him that they had the place all to themselves, she said that she knew that Billy was from London. She started talking
One difference between the book and the movie, is that the movie took place in the 80s and the book took place in the mid 60s, I know this becauses on all the pages the reports say they all take
One of the major differences was the change in perspective. In the book, the story was told through a nine-year-old’s perspective, which allowed the reader to be led through the horrible events without having any prior knowledge. However, in the film the story was told
The third difference between the book and the movie is, what happens when they get out of the maze. In the book they get out of the maze and end up in a lab. when they enter the lab they meet the people who put them in the “glade”. They explain what happened and why they were put there, then people break into the lab and take the kids. The movie’s ending a little different. Just like in the book, the kids end up in a lab but they never meet the people who put them there. When they enter the lab everyone is dead, then a video plays explaining what happened and why they are
Another difference between the book and movie was the scene about the tea party. In the book Alice takes part in a tea party. The tea party never ends because the rabbit or hare has no concept of time. But in the movie the party is for a birthday. Also, there is a scene where characters fix the rabbit’s watch in the movie but there is not mentioning of fixing the watch in the novel.
The difference is that in the book the cat doesn't help her as much as he does in the movie. At this point Alice has learned much more about everything, who she is, how to find h own way, and how to control herself. In the movie the cat helps her get on her way to find were she wants to go. Which is the place she saw when she first opened the small door. When she finally finds the queen's garden the cat pulls a prank on the Queen while they're playing crochet. In the movie the Queen accuses Alice of doing it and says "Off with her head!", the Queen's husband convinces her to put Alice on a trail though. In the book they accuse the cat and put him on trail. She's a witness but like the movie she starts speaking her mind and the Queen wants to cut off her head then too. Soon after that she suddenly wakes up with her
Another similarity that i thought made the story change was her mom wasn't as depressed in the movie than she was in the book because the book had more details.
To start off this essay I would like to say that there was a lot of differences in the two movies and the one book. In the book the prologue was a lot different than the newer movie because in the book there was a narrator that read the prologue to the audience. Then in the newer movie the prologue was a news lady that reads it out loud to the viewers because it was set in a newer generation. Then in the 1968 version the prologue was going over the city while the narrator reads it out loud while everything is going on.
The book and the movie have several similarities as well as many differences, this is apparent in the final moments of the book and the movie, there are not overwhelming amount of differences as the adaptations are very similar, but some of those differences are the loss of significance of the ending of the scene from the book to the movie, the lack of explanation of character relations in the movie and the lack of significant flashbacks that are present in the book unlike in the movie.
