What comes to mind when you hear the word hero? Bravery? Courage? Selflessness? When you hear hero, you may think of Harry Potter who saved the world seven different times. You may think of Superman, and how he defeats the villains. You may think of Malala Yousafzai, who put her life on the line for her education. What about those who have impacted your life? Ordinary people, but people who have helped mold you into the individual you are today. Brad Meltzer once said, “We are all ordinary. We are all boring. We are all spectacular. We are all shy. We are all bold. We are all heroes. We are all helpless. It just depends on the day.” When you hear the word hero, do you think of ordinary people? Do you think of those who have given you strength throughout your journey? I do. A hero is someone who unintentionally impacts your life. Heroes come in different shapes, sizes, and looks. Maybe someone you saw on the street one day was heroic for saving someone’s life in a car accident. A hero to me is someone who can be brave in situations that aren’t so safe, and take a risk to make sure everyone is okay, no matter who

What exactly is a hero? To some it’s a fictional character with a cape who possesses a special power that helps them do great things for others; and to others it a completely different story. To me, a hero is someone who has made a good difference on not just my life, but others as well and has inspired us to never give up, to better ourselves, and to try and live life to the fullest. For example, Josh Hamilton, he has made a big difference and has had a good impact on my life in probably every aspect you can think of and not only that, but he has shown me that you can always get back up and fight, you can always overcome your life’s obstacles, also he has shown me that you should always have your faith in the Lord.

When the word "hero" is spoken, everyone has different thoughts. Some will think of super powers like flying and saving people from villains; while others have a certain person they know or have heard of that come to mind who have done something to make a difference in the lives of others but who is a hero to you? To answer this question you must first ask yourself what a hero is; what comes to your mind when someone says the word. When I am confronted with these questions I always have the same thoughts; smart, strong will power, and someone who stands up for what they believe is right.
