Running head: WORLDVIEW 1 WORDLVIEW Worldview John McNeal Liberty University 1 According to (Weider & Gutierrez, 2014), there are many different approaches to evaluating or determining a person’s worldview. Many people’s view of the world is formed/shaped by their culture, ethnicity, friends, family and/or religion. Often times, they find their faith through personal encounters with families and friends. For Christians, our worldviews are formed through our faith which is strengthen through us studying the Holy Bible. 2 Part I According to (Merriam-Webster, n.d.), worldview is defined as a comprehensive conception or apprehension of the world especially from a specific standpoint. This definition implies that the way an individual view the world may be due to a variety of factors such as their culture, ethnicity, and/or religion. He does consider us more valuable (Matthew 6:26, ASV) because he created us in his image, meaning he wants us to be more like him. Therefore, we are held to different standards which is why God placed humans over all living things such as animals (Genesis 1:26). Due to this, we are to treat them with tender love and care. According to (Ward, 2010), a human is defined as the ability to speak, abstract reasoning and interbreeding. However, the Holy Bible teaches us that humans were created to praise and glorify the Lord. In fact, according to (1 Corinthians 10:31, ASV), God wants us to glorify him in all things. He also wants us to fear him and follow his commandments (Ecclesiastes 12:13, ASV). Due to the Holy Bible consisting of, parables, commandments and stories that instruct Christians on the correct way to act, it is like a blue print or a map that guides us through life and eventually to
