A worldview is not determined simply by a single factor, value, belief or view. It can be described as a collection of beliefs a person has about his or her life and the world around. This worldview can include aspects such as a consistent decision making process, an idea of what is right or wrong, and also who or what authority do I respect and follow. This view can modified constantly by factors including experiences that a person might face, a changing environment, and different values. Humans were created in Gods image. In Genesis 1-2, human beings are created to live and take care of what God has formed. God placed Adam, and then Eve, on earth. He created them from the dust of the earth. God spoke to Adam and gave him all the animals to name. Adam was also given the task of tending to and growing the Garden of Eden. Human nature is confirmed to be obedient to God and his word. (Bible - ESV, Genesis 1-2) God wanted human nature to be kind, just, obedient, good, faithful, etc. Gods ultimate creation was human life.

A “worldview is a set of beliefs or truth claims that form a framework for making sense out of life and the world” (MacCullough, Ed.D., 2012, p. 15). Basically, it is how we view the world. We all have our own perception in the way we view the world. Our worldview is what we believe the answers are in our everyday life and what we believe are the answers to everything we do or are involved in. A worldview is the way a person views and interprets the world around them. Life experiences and spiritual influences play a part in forming one’s worldview. A person’s worldview helps them to determine beliefs on creation, humanity, morals and what happens after death. According to Waddell, (2014) “Worldviews are also like lenses found in eyeglasses that serve as the means through which a person sees the world.” (para. 43) In this paper, the main components of the Christian worldview will be discussed, to include God, humanity, Jesus, restoration and analysis of Christian Faith as well as a reflection of my own beliefs.

A world view is the way that someone views the world; his or her particular perspective that is based on her religious, cultural, ideological beliefs that are, in turn, formed form a combination of societal and experiential factors. What is a world view? A worldview is an individual’s view on life. It is the philosophy with which we live. It makes us who we are and is shaped by our experiences, culture, and background (Smith, 2015). A worldview is fluid, it changes as we change and discover our identities. It is made up of the questions that humans may ask to determine their wealth to the world or their purpose in life. Our worldview can make us gravitate toward other individuals with similar beliefs. It is a unifying factor in our day to day interactions with people and the world as a whole. It is the way that we determine what is “considered meaningful, what is worth doing, and which causes may require sacrifice”

In Genesis 1:26-27 the Bible talks about how we are made in the image of God, or have what is known as the Imago Dei. Some people would say that this means that human beings have a conscious, and live at a level that is more complex than just living on mere instinct. I believe that there is more to it than that. Romans 12:6 says that “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” In other words, as you read the rest of the chapter you can see how each of the different gifts given to people can be used to edify and strengthen other people. We were created to be a blessing to other people, and those other people were created to live in harmony with you.

Today’s society consists of many worldviews. Most people tend to pull beliefs from different religions, but often stick to one main worldview. A worldview to me is the gathering of beliefs that shape what we do on a daily basis and forms our overall view on life. When I look at my beliefs critically, I am able to see my worldview and see how it compares to different worldviews, but also how it compares mainly to the Christian Worldview.

“The meaning of the term worldview seems self-evident: an intellectual perspective on the world or universe. Indeed, the 1989 edition of the Oxford English Dictionary defines world-view as a "... contemplation of the world, [a] view of life ..." (Funk, 2001). The word contemplation can also mean inspection or observation. Many things go into a person’s worldview and everyone’s worldview will be slightly different. An individual worldview is comprised of the total of that individual (e.g. their history, religion, priorities, etc.).

How do you see the world around you? What experiences have you had in life that makes you look at the world in a different way? Generally speaking, people’s worldview patterns what way they translate realism and approach sentiments. Worldview attributes of your trust about God, children, cultures, and marriage. It affects peoples’ beliefs.

A person’s worldview may not be my worldview, a person’s worldview is individual to the person. I would define worldview as a person’s specific bias or opinion on topics that influence how they look at the world and their surroundings from what is there to what is expected to be there. Now that I have a definition of a worldview, what is a christian worldview? With the article, A Christian Worldview, there are five points that make up a christian worldview. First, God exists and the world was created by Him. Secondly, humans who fully believe in God has enjoyment to look forward to after death because they can be with God, but everyone has a soul and spirit to go somewhere after they die. Third, science and metaphysics are not the only approach that explains the big bang theory and everything that exists today. Fourth, epistemology is not the only intellectuality that helps us perceive real senses. Last, there is a difference between objective morality and subjective morality along with the Bible as a source for Christians to follow God’s will for our life (Drury 3).
