The U.S and North Korea have always been two countries that are controversial. Both counties have been enemies for the past half decades and there were wars between two sides that make reconciliation impossible. North Korea has always want to fulfill their dream of conquer and The U.S was doing their job as peacemaker. Both countries are two extremes on the balance and there are several differences between two countries. First of all, there is a big difference in politics between North Korea and The U.S. The U.S has a democratic government which people in the country have equal rights, people are also have the right to vote for their leaders. And there are House of Representatives and the senate to …show more content…

In The U.S. their basic economy system is capitalist which anyone can create their own business. However, North Korean believes their economy as plan system, which the dictator controls everything. No one is allowed to start a business and the only career to keep him or her alive is farming. However, poverty became one of the biggest problems in North Korea due to droughts, flood and other natural disasters causing farmers in North Korea with food shortage and leads to death. As in conclusion, there are clear differences between North Korea and The U.S. Two racial groups living in a totally different life style. What are in North Korea are hunger, fear, and death compare to the high quality of life in the U.S. People who are living in North Korea is suffering in pain with no secrets and privacy. yet, people who are living in The U.S. shares equal rights no matter gender and
The United States has a complex government that builds on democracy whereas North Korea has communism centered on totalitarian rule. Both had their conflicts during the past and still are struggling in the future. Even though their government has two different sides to tell about they too have some similarities. One country having majority rule and the other having "political authority [whom] exercises absolute and centralized control over all aspects of life" (definition: totalitarianism at dictionary.com). Going through the growth of their economy, the citizens are opening their eyes each and every day to a government that has different branches with their checks and balances, exposure to several political parties, having their civil
Also the lack of jobs has led to the majority of the people to be below the poverty line. And the ones with jobs do not get paid much or at all due to government corruption. For example, “Men are forced to work long hours for the government, often without pay, and those that don’t show up for work risk imprisonment”. Which has led to men working worthless jobs and women becoming the breadwinners of the families but still not having the same respect as men. The North Korean government is forcing these men to work for free while their families have no food to eat. Brainwashing and propaganda are also major aspects of the regime to keep the people scared of the world outside North Korea, namely the United States, Japan and South Korea. As shown, “Ak (evil) may be the single most commonly used word to describe Americans. The derogatory term nom, similar to calling someone a bastard, is inevitably attached to the end of any word referring to Americans”. Children from a young age are taught to refer to Americans in such manner to install fear in them to always distrust Americans and their aid. Americans are the worst of the worst type of people, according to the Kim regime, because they prevented the reunification of the two Koreas. Followed closely behind by the Japanese, since there is still resentment from the Japanese colonial rule. South Korea is not as
Since its creation after the Korean War in 1950, North Korea, also known as the Democratic People Republic of Korea (DPRK), has caused many problems for the United States. North Korea has, for instance, broken treaties and even gone so far as to threaten the use of nuclear weapons. Naturally, different presidents have dealt with North Korea in different ways. Take Eisenhower for example, he actually threatened the use of nuclear weapons against North Korea in 1953 (obviously before North Korea had nuclear capabilities). Many presidents ignored North Korea all together, and some tried to ignore the country, but circumstances did not allow
In fact, North Korea does not run on free labor. All of the country’s economy is based on labor camps and forced labor. Marzuki Darusman, a special rapporteur on human rights, told theguardian, “the workers are being used as a new source of income, with North Korea facing a “really tight financial and economic situation” (theguardian, 1). Because of North Korea’s forced labor, they are earning up to $2.3bn in foreign currency. Thus, North Korea is slowly relying on its forced labor more and more. North Korea’s forced labor is helping its economy greatly. However, the forced labor is killing many of the citizens and forced labor is being too heavily relied on. Many of the North Koreans are being killed off because of the forced labor. If the forced labor continues, many of the laborers will die, and the economy would start to fail because they have less of a labor force. Either way, North Korea is too dependent on forced labor, but it is killing thousands, which causes the economy to fail. Forced labor in North Korea helps its economy greatly, but it can also be the horrific downfall to its
The United States was established on a belief that democracy is the most efficient way to run a country, while North Korea believes dictatorship is the proper way to run a country. How can one country tell another country their ideology is wrong if that country has never been governed in that manner? The United States government might discuss ideologies and show examples of how Americans flourish under democracy. The adverse is true; if North Korea discussed their ideologies with the United States politicians might have a better understanding. I am of the opinion there would be a slim chance both countries would try to understand the other. Never less, if politicians listen to one another and keep an open mind, tensions might decrease and open a door for much needed aid to the
North Korea has disliked the US since they implemented a pro-western government in South Korea after World War ll. After WWll Russian implemented a pro-communist government in North Korea and it has stayed that way ever since. Recently the tensions have gotten more intense because
North Korea, also known as the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea, is known for being one of the world’s most hidden country. With hardly any people leaving the country, and hardly any coming in. It is a homogenous country as well, with relatively all North Koreans being of the ethnic group Korean.
The North Korean problem with the United States has been an ongoing experience since about 1945 to present day 2016. In 1969, A US reconnaissance plane was shot down by North Korea MiG-21 aircraft over the Sea of Japan, which started a conflict with them and us. Fast forward a few years and in 1998 North Korea fires a missile over Japan which rattles the sword for the United States letting us know, hey we have missiles. In 2002, President Bush labels North Korea as part of the "Axis of Evil" which sparks a small hatred toward the United States. In 2003, North Korea decides to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Then in 2006, North Korea fires more missiles in July, then tests its first nuclear device in October. Now fast forward to present day 2016, North Korea tested their 5th nuclear test which is also said to me the
Even though America helped South Korea to protect its own sovereignty, there were previous chances to bring peace beforehand. In January 1950, United States announced that South Korea and Taiwan are no longer under the protection strategies. Afterwards, US army left Korea based on their announcements. However, America would notice that there will be a certain incident if they leave Korea. The fact that the American army left and South Korea is no longer under the strategical plan made North Korea to persuade some communist countries to get some supports.
North Korea–United States relations was mostly shaped by the Korean War. However, North Korea's refusal to dispose its nuclear project and the three tests of nuclear weapons and long-range ballistic missiles have caused the relation to further deteriorate and remain hostile. Further, other things like hijacking planes, capturing and sinking ships, drug trafficking, killing US soldiers along the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), shooting down aircraft, imprisoning US journalists as well as tourists, and few other militarized disputes involving North and South Korea has caused the relation to be completely destroyed. North Korea has been ruled by successive generations of Kim Il Sung’s family. Currently, Kim Jong-Un controls all the political and economic
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, or North Korea as it is better known, is a country that has been shrouded in mystery since it was founded in 1948. The country receives very few tourists on an annual basis, and not many of their citizens are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to travel and see how others outside of the country live. Many other nations from around the world have labeled North Korea as a threat because so little is known about the country or its people; but also because its past and present leaders have created that stigma for themselves. The North Korean people may not be the evil people that the world views them as, but until more is known about the country and its citizens, it is safe to say that the rest of
North Korea is one of the many places in the world where human rights issues are in a whole other level. North Korea is a democratic country originally ruled by Kim Il Sung a communist leader. Kim Il Sung was born on April 15, 1912 and came into power in 1948 when he was 36. Many of the people in North Korea had to deal with some new changes in their human rights. Including extermination, murder, enslavement, torture, imprisonment, rape, and other assaults and violence. North Korea runs prison camps where people who oppose the government are sent to deal with awful conditions such as abuse, starvation and forced labor. Fear of going to these camps many people keep silent about these issues in order to
North Korea and South Korea had tensions, the tensions caused them to go into war in 1950. The war ended in July 1953, Korea was still divided. Kim il Sung was in power in 1948 until his death, a cult emerged around him, North Koreans were being forced to worship him. Kim invented a new calendar that everyone had to use in 1912 marking year one. North Korea’s constitution was changed to declare Kim il Sung the Eternal President of the Republic. North Korea is by itself, it is not apart of the international community. Economic, governmental and other operations remain secret. North Korea has always been trying to get ahold of nuclear weapons. The nuclear weapons have been built with technology left over from the Cold War era. It's been said
Many North Koreans suffer from famine, or shortage in food. About 2 million died due to the famine. Flooding caused part of the food shortage. Some in North Korea have been forced to resorted to cannibalism. There are many unfair laws and poverty in North Korea. Electric power shuts down at night, and
North Korea has a population of 24.9 million people. The founder of North Korea Kim Il Sung, created the country’s policy of juche also knows as self-reliance. This has made North Korea where they rely souly on themselves. There are very few people in North Korea that are allowed to own motor vehicles. If you are in the government and military officials it is legal for you to own or operate a vehicle. Marajuana, in North Korea is not considered a drug and it recommended to many citizens. People in North Korea are not allowed to have access to anything in the outside world, such as TV, cable, Internet, and cellphones.
