I am interested in continuing my educational journey in the University Honors Program at CSULB because I see it as a way to effectively enhance my undergraduate experience with its opportunities. I have been able to improve and continue to excel and improve in my studies and I think I can pursue a great education in this program. I will achieve my vision of helping others in the world. I have been adamant in enrolling in a nursing program that I will excell in. Saving people’s lives would change the world and my own life, for the better. It would change the perspective I have on life with the diversity with different cultures and races. Every experience, every interaction I will be able to have with others, will make me happy and hopefully

Volunteering, in minor or significant ways, taught me that I could make an impact in the world and along the way build my character, experience the world, and develop better communication skills. I learned this at my local library, Fumo Family Branch. I aspire to become a part of the National Honors Society because I want to network with my peers and people outside of the Academy at Palumbo, improve my character and leadership skills, and give back to my community. I strongly believe that I am a great candidate because I possess the four pillars of the National Honors Society: scholarship, character, leadership, and service.
Ashford University is a instituion that holds itself with great prestige and respect. While attending I'll be able to advance my knowledge of teaching and children’s emotional, social, and physical needs to better help them grow. I feel it will push my career and academic goals in the right direction aswell as push my limits academically.
I believe my character is identical to Drew’s. Drew was a determined student, like me. Throughout high school, I have participated in many activities to enhance my education. I took engineering APEX class, formally CAPS, as a junior. I am also finishing School-to-Work this year. My School-to-Work internship is at an engineering firm called HR Green. I was accepted into National Honor Society as a junior and I have been on the honor roll throughout all of high school.
I’m a determined person who believes there are no limits to the possibilities in our education. Since I was little, the challenge always passion me, and entering Nation Honor Society, has been a commitment over the past years in my school life.
When I received my application packet to the National Honor Society, my first thought was, “Why me? I’m nothing special.” What changed my mind was looking at the application and, more specifically, the requirements for membership and thinking, “Hey that applies to me!” The prestigious National Honor Society is well – known for its high standards of entry. Not just a 3.8 GPA, but demanding more from its applicants. It not only demands that they have intelligence, but morals, good character, perseverance, and a track record of service to others to back it up. And while I have a 4.1 GPA to meet the Scholarship requirements, I think that what is most important is my leadership experience and capabilities and my spirit of service to others.
Throughout high school, I have always been a part of high honor roll, and as a junior and senior, I have been a member of National Honor Society. Because I do not participate in sports, I have always been purely dedicated to my schoolwork and getting exceptional grades. Being in the Honors Program at LLCC would not only continue by achievements in academic honors, but help me grow in my goals and plans for the future.
Given the opportunity to join the honors college, I will be able to bring numerous skills such as : leadership, teamwork, volunteering, problem solving and creativity. With the use of education I am able to show my leadership abilities. Recently I was a leader in five different organizations ranging from vice president to operations officer of each organization. I helped each club with my talent of volunteering. I’ve by feeding the homeless, donating to the elderly, assisting in our county wide Special Olympics and tutoring special needs children ranging from K-6th
With the help of the Honors College, I can accomplish many intellectual, personal, and professional goals.
I have always had an interest in improving the community around us, and would like to be involved in this role by helping out in the community. By joining NHS, I aspire to enhance some of my skills, such as ambition, collaboration, and leadership. I hope to increase my initiative to provide service in the community and to take chances out of my comfort zone. By helping out in the community more with service projects I hope to improve my collaborative, management and people skills. In addition, I hope to improve my leadership skills through public service projects. These projects will not only give me more experience with leadership, but they will also motivate me to help my community and my peers with their endeavors. I believe that joining the National Honor Society at River Hill will teach me essential skills for my future, and improve my community.
Five to ten years from now, I will be obtaining my graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences after having built a strong foundation in chemistry, human physiology, and drug discovery. As a graduate student who aspires to synthesize and test new drugs and therapies, I will be working in a research laboratory or participating in an internship to prepare myself for a future in a collegial environment with other medical professionals. By this time, I would have already spent a semester abroad as a foreign exchange student in France to enhance my French minor studies. As an independent student who will have the opportunity to explore Europe, I will be able to expose myself to a variety of cultures and perspectives so that I could develop an understanding of global issues within the medical field and apply different frames of references to my research.
I am hoping to translate my love for traveling and fierce passion for international politics into a career. By majoring in Global Affairs, I am planning to work with an embassy or with a refugee resettlement center. After graduation, the Honors college will not only add a dimension of prestige to my resume, but it will display that I am a competent, driven worker. Furthermore, the Honors college provides both opportunities and research experience that will prepare me for my career. In an environment with like-minded peers who value their education, I will be tested, challenged, and strengthened with a rigorous curriculum. I am a firm believer that as a student, even as a person, I am like a geode—I must be broken to see what I’m made of. Therefore, accompanied by my academic achievements, I have the tenacity and
Honors classes at times can be challenging. However, everyone has different perspectives on them. The difficulty of the courses usually vary by the instructor. Some teachers put a heavy load of work on their students and some give a balanced amount of work. I don't know what the teachers are like at your school but hopefully they won't be so cruel. My teachers were okay I guess.
When I was three years old, I could be found standing on fountains at the local mall and putting on concerts for passers by. Now, at 18 years old, the same joy I felt singing in the middle of a mall is what I feel crafting stories on stage and pursuing a character’s truth. Throughout the years, theatre has been an immensely important creative outlet for me, and the confidence I have found on stage has translated in my real life, making me a stronger person. As I pursue higher education in this field, I am excited at the prospect of continuing my studies at the University of Michigan, and being able to take advantage of all the opportunities I am so passionate about.
Beating at the heart of the Southern Oregon Honors College community lies a close-knit community that focuses on deeper discussions between students and a student-interest driven content with programs like Take the Lead Projects and Pick and Choose Activities. Small communities, like the honors college, have been a major part of my life since middle school. This is one of the major reasons why I want to be a part of the honors college community. I want to immerse myself in an intellectual space where people take responsibility for their actions and communicate with others in an honest, compassionate way while in a small-scale setting. I think a lot of successful communities do this. When members are comfortable being open about what they want from their community and communicate that in an empathetic way, a deeper bond is created and people can delve into their creativity more because they do not fear judgment.
