Effective communication is paramount when developing positive relationships with everyone we come across, whether it is a child, young person or adult. For children and young people it is very important that we use effective communication to help them learn and grow, the way we talk to children and young people and what we do with the information we gain from listening to their needs will have a huge impact on their learning experience. It is also important for the safety and wellbeing of children and young people we work with, we need to take any information given and use it to protect them whether they tell us something is wrong or there are other signs i.e tone of voice and body language, its important we know. How we communicate differs
However, “...father- child differences in values may be more strongly associated with family and child adjustment than mother-child differences,” (Relations...Parent-Child – pg 14.) Since fathers are typically the head of the house, especially in many Asian immigrant families, they are the ones to enforce the rules and punish the child or children. This leaves no question that a child, especially one trying to find themselves, will rebel against their rule making strict father; creating a strain in the relationship with their father who can't seem to understand the child's rebellion toward him, his rules, and their culture. Along with problems any family could go through, “Language barriers may present concrete obstacles to effective communication, which may increase the likelihood of intense conflict,” (Relations...Parent-Child – pg 3.) When growing up in America, English is the language taught in schools and spoken pretty much everywhere. This serves as a problem for immigrant parents that have children who pick up English faster than their native tongue. This causes a strain in parent-child communication. However this is not the only problem with communication.
Effective communication skills are important no matter who an individual is talking to, but they are vital when it comes to talking to someone who has either been a victim or a witness of a crime. A victim is at their most vulnerable state so they need to be talked to delicately and have support. Often times, witnesses of a crime are overlooked and are not questioned and they may have valuable information that could help a victim recover from the crime and give them justice. Communication in victimology and crisis management is comprised of knowing what effective communication skills are, how it gives victims a voice, how effective communication allows victims to ensure their rights and know what they are, and above all it the communicator builds a relationship with the victim which helps them to be able to recover from their trauma.
The common phrase that communication is indispensable cannot be underestimated in whatever contextual setting it is being viewed. The vitality of the term is seen in all walks of life be it formal or informal communication.Relationships are impacted by the ingredient of communication. It can be direct, indirect and even symbolic interactionism. The message that communication passes leads its object to exhibit in their behavior certainattitudinal change. The moode of transmission may vary depending on the circumstances and the impact one would want to make. ‘’It's well known that good communication is the foundation of any successful relationship, be it personal or professional. It's important to recognize, though, that it's our nonverbal communication—our facial expressions, gestures, eye contact, posture, and tone of voice—that speak the loudest. The ability to understand and use nonverbal communication, or body language, is a powerful tool that can help you connect with others, express what you really mean, and build better relationships’’(Jeanne ,2017)
What is important and why do students go to school? I believe students that attend a school or institution gain education. Education is important and is a process of gaining information about the surrounding world. It allows us to build opinions from the facts that we are taught and interpret things that it is being used in everyday life. An important factor that has a huge impact on establishing education is communication. Over the years, Communication has evolved and changed which allowed there to be many different communication models. The Shannon-Weaver, The Berlo, and The Integrated Communication models are just a few models that help display how we communicate today.
Communication is extremely important in today’s excessively interconnected world. Cross culture communication no matter the stage or medium is extremely important. With communication on many levels being so important we must overcome all the challenges that present. With globalization becoming more pronounced we must always consider the cultural significance of our communications. France offers the perfect outside cultural reference for how Western Europe experiences these issues. According to the French government, French is the sixth most common language in the world, and with France at one time being a colonial superpower, French culture has influenced a large portion of the world ("The status of French in the world", 2017). When speaking especially in a public medium you don’t want your message to fall flat so understanding varying cultures is a must and French culture is no different. In our need to be understood and respected we always put our own culture first. In the United States, we have marginalized French culture even in areas where French surnames and culture are familiar (Green, 2009 p. 327). Personally, I love the French language and culture and find it immensely interesting. I took 7 years of French language and culture classes, so this is an interesting topic for research. Surprisingly, it was a difficult area to research, and I ended up using my coworkers for great and helpful information. Some background information I can give off hand is that similar to
Using clinical reasoning supported by current evidence base, you will consider how both modulation and praxis may be implicated in your client’s presenting difficulties.
To effectively communicate I must construct, maintain, and flourish personally, and in the workplace by following the SOP. I have learned in my many years of practicing various communication skills to set a good example with the way I dress, speak, and the quality of work I produce. I have to act the way I want the employees to act. This includes being professional, and on time. I have learned that public speaking will be one of the most used items one will ever acquire--- it is a practical and vital skill in all jobs. Another vital communication piece has been to always maintain eye contact because, it adds validity to what you are saying. I have learned that effective communication skills can contribute to an argument and help persuade people to my way of thinking.
The era of advanced technology has changed the daily lives of almost everybody and makes things more convenient. But, imagine the old days when technology was not so advanced like today. How did people communicate and what type of effectiveness did it have on their relationships? I had the opportunity to ask these questions to my grandfather and understand how communication really worked back then. Before I begin, smartphones have been the ultimate form of portable technology that most of use to date. In 2017, it is estimated that over 2.32 billion people share the market for having a smartphone which is truly unbelievable. (Number of Smartphone Users Worldwide 2014-2020: Statista, www.statista.com/statistics/330695/number-of-smartphone-users-worldwide/). My grandfather explained that smartphones have helped in a way of connecting from one place to another no matter the distance and it makes it accessible to talk on the phone. This concept relates to chapter 7, where it talks about production and distribution. It states, “It extends our ability to produce and distribute information at great distance in space or time from the point of origin” (Ruben & Stewart, 2017, p.171). My grandfather said that without this accessibility it would change the relationship among us because it creates a gap of not seeing each other or having that personal effect when you are speaking in person. On page 177, under the subheading “Technological Convergence” it states, “Telephones were used

Initially, it must be realized that in order for leaders of not only projects and teams but the organization itself, effective communication is critical in the performance of the basic functions of management. Effective communication is the foundation of planning and all essential information must be passed on to managers who must communicate plans and goals to those who will implement them.
The data told me what I predicted with Aiden and Torrance. However William G.’s data I was shocked by and confused to to why his attention span was so short.. I feel that all three of the students need remediation because they are not all perfect with alphabet knowledge, sounds awareness and letter sound knowledge. Although each student made the benchmark score teachers should strive to help their students to go above and beyond not just the average benchmark score.
Communication is an important part in all human’s lives. This is clearly expressed in Tim Dolighan’s cartoon “Communication.” This photo demonstrates to the viewers how vital communication is in a hospital setting. The author is able to get his point across through the use of pathos by using humor to display the importance of communication and by demonstrating the consequences when there is a lack of communication. Not many people realize the consequences of poor communication. There is usually a lot of stress in operating/emergency rooms in hospitals and the pace is usually very fast. Without communication, there is potential for a disaster to happen and in the worst-case scenario, this could cost someone their life. With the cartoon
How does technology really affect how alone we feel? Technology includes all keys to ensure we are occupied and never lonely. “Technology has provided us with even more creative ways to occupy our time” (L. DeLeo). These are continuous occupiers, such as; apps, articles, news, etc. Which help people all around the world to keep in touch with everyone and everything. Technology is good for us, as it entertains us in endless ways, provides communication towards peers/relationships over long distances, and allows for easy access to face to face communication.
Communication was one of the first things I experienced as a child. My mom always spoke kind words to me, such as intelligent, strong, capable and extraordinary to me each day. I made her smile, a smile brighter than the sun, each time I tried to pronounce the words back to her. Her words caused me feel as though I were the only person that matter in the world to her. The words of my mom made helped me to be a confident person as a young child.
