The two Web Links that inspired me the most and that I was able to use the most was:
1. Start with a Tiny Habit: I enjoyed learning about starting with a tiny habit because it is sometimes hard to make a change because it seems like a big change at the time. It helped me to pick something small to lead to a bigger change in the long run.
2. 5 Tips for Meeting Deadlines: I enjoyed reading about strategies on how to make the deadlines on time. Consistently meeting deadlines can increase my own value with my employer, family members, and my teachers.I also used a couple of meeting the deadline tricks to help me be more organized in all my duties.

1. Go to 18 Good Study Habits, and read their explanations. Then write about Law of the Farm (you may have to look it up further), time boxing (be sure to include it's "golden rule," and one other tip. How have you used them--or not used them--this term in this course or another online (including hybrid) class? How could you plan to use them next semester?
Law of the Farm: The concept behind it is simple: As in farming, success in life comes from regular disciplined, daily effort. A farmer cannot expect to reap a bumper crop by being lazy for three months and then “cramming” to catch up.
I will use my homework in this semester as an example. When I saw that the homework was not due until the following week I thought I had plenty of time to get it done. But with a blick of an eye, next week was here and the homework was due, plus all the other work for all the other classes were due as well. I knew at that point I was going to be cramming as much as I can to submit everything on time. I felt overwhelmed and stressed. The grades are given back always proved that what I reap from me being lazy the week before following me on my grades.
In next semester I will plan better from the classes picked but as well as not turning in assignments on their due dates, but completing as much as I could when the time is permitted. I will next semester give myself the time needed to do better on my school work even if it means not
Soon, I discovered a method to avoid the potential of feeling insubstantial, if only for a few more hours or days. Thus, allow me to introduce you to an old friend, procrastination. My way of thinking soon became, “If I’m not going to get an A, then why even put the effort in?” and consequently, innumerable assignments were put off until five in the morning where it would be due in two hours or it would never reach my teacher’s hands at all. I’m sure most teachers believed the cause to be laziness or a lack of ambition, however I strongly believe that if they’d known the constant stress, self-doubt, and exhaustion that I
Carolyn Foster Segal sarcastically discussed the numerous reasons students came to her in need of turning in assignments late. Most reasons were so redundant and absurd that she had to title her essay about her experiences as a college professor, "The Dog Ate My Disk, and Other Tells of Woe." However, as a student, I can understand why a student face so many obstacles while seeking success in their overall education and, specifically, seeking punctuality in their assignments. Whether it is from their home situation, overall well-being, the work itself, or their life outside of school and family, there are several excuses that can justify the late submission of an assignment.
The last three weeks I have learned about three habits, and they are; habit 1 being proactive, habit 2 begin with the end in mind, and lastly, habit 3 first thing's first, I have an so learned how to use them anywhere.lastly, how they can/will improve my life for good and help me through a difficult path.
Deadlines are there for a reason. Without a deadline to meet you could simply postpone whatever it is you have been working on for as long as possible resulting in work never getting done, which is hardly a productive way of working. It is therefore important to meet any deadlines that have been set. Failure to meet the deadlines puts you into a stressful position and may damage self motivation and efficiency with meeting set targets. The deadlines are there to help me as a learner achieve areas of my framework within a realistic timescale. Not meeting deadlines may result in falling behind other colleagues on work and could potentially assist in failure of tests/assessments that are carried out.
Deadlines help you prioritize your tasks. The most important tasks should be handled and completed first and, then go down the list until you reach and complete the least important task on your list. You should complete each task to the best of your ability, in order to meet the deadline. You should focus on one task at a time. Give each task your full and complete attention and concentration. There is no need to rush or get frustrated when under a deadline, because that will cause you to get stressed out, and discourage,
With my own business, it was imperative that I met deadlines, or it would affect my reputation and I may lose business. I am always conscious of the timeframes I have to work within and I ensure I always meet the deadlines by staying later than intended or by applying more resources to the job, ensuring it will be finalised on the agreed date. This has earned me a good reputation and has resulted in repeat clientele along with new clients through word of mouth. 7. Outline your ability to work in a team environment and support other members.
Habit 2:Begin with the End in Mind was probably the habit that hit home most for me. Like most teens I was struggling with my priorities. I have to
The habit that I choose to give up for the nine weeks that this project entailed was biting my fingernails. I have had this habit ever since I was a little girl and was never able to give it up when I have tried to in the past. I choose this as what I wanted to give up for the assignment because I knew that it would be hard for me but also extremely rewarding in the end when I would hopefully be able to quit biting my nails. This was a really good experience for me because it showed me the struggles of giving something up that I was so used to and also how rewarding it feels when you follow through and do something great for yourself.
The problem of procrastination starts when a student waits until minutes before a class to study for a class. This may seem like a solution for students who are pressed for time; however, this doesn’t allow time for the information to be solidified and vital information can be lost. These behaviors form because students have found that in the past they were able to successfully pass the class by doing their homework literally hours before the projects deadline. This reckless learning may help pass the class, but doesn’t give the information the time needed to be solidified into memory. This reckless learning also produces effects within projects that are often below the students’ academic level and can cause
Procrastination is a tendency to postpone, put off, delay, reschedule, take a rain check on, put on ice, hold off, or to defer what is necessary to reach a particular goal.(Roget's 21st Century Thesaurus, Third Edition. Philip Lief Group 2009.) While attending College some students find it hard to juggle work, family, and friends. Leading most students down a dangerous path to procrastination; that negative impact affect students from their physical health, mental health, and social health.
“You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.” (Abraham Lincoln) This quote is something many people tend to ignore when they come face to face with something as major as a significant event that causes a life change or even something as simple as a class assignment. This phenomenon is called procrastination. Every human has at least done it once in their life and has suffered from the consequences due to the act of procrastinating. Once somebody has felt the impact that procrastination brings, then they are stuck stressing out over a problem that could’ve been easily avoided a significant amount of time ago. The stress the person has to go through when they realized they messed up in a major way, the amount of regret from procrastinating in the first place, all of these feelings are enough to push a person in the right direction
Currently I know that there are a few behaviors that I do that will affect my health negatively in the future. I would like to change one of the following habits: get at least 8 hours of sleep by getting to bed earlier, try to stop biting my nails by chewing gum instead, lose 5 pounds by the end of the semester by exercise and change in diet, stop drinking caffeine by slowly decreasing intake and replacing it with water or not caffeinated beverages within one month, or watch less Netflix by replacing it with more study time and reading. The behavior I have decided to change is to stop drinking caffeinated and switch to a healthy alternative (water, sprite, unsweet tea, etc.). Caffeine could help to change some of the other behaviors such
It is seen as an essential part of learning and using what you learn in class. But when you get loads of class work and have very little time to finish it, then it becomes an unnecessary burden. Yet, sometimes, for me, it is the fact that I procrastinate that prevents me from completing a task. For college student, like myself who is working to pay for college, large amounts of class work usually brings lots of stress and fear of not being able to get good grades in many of my classes. Yet, I have support from my family, friends, and some peers who encourage me to put up a good fight in reaching my goal. I am a student that has gone through so much to get here, where I am. There were times that I had strong feelings that I would never be in college, just because of the negative energy I forced upon myself. Since pre-K, I have had this problem that if I can't do something I just give up, and stop trying. I still have this problem, but I have learned to get a control on it. The biggest problem was graduating from high school. I never thought that I would ever graduate. But I knew, as a student, I should at least try and show my teachers that I am putting effort. And now, I'm in college, studying pre-med, and hoping to become either a pediatrician, or a NFL Doctor.
I have not been completely certain of how I wanted my life to be but now, at 33, I do not what I want out of life and what type of career I want to have. I 'm slowly building in more time in my day to focus on developing myself in order to reach my desired goals. Creating a plan that begins with the end in mind is definitely something I 'm starting immediately since reading this book.
An equally important cause for procrastinating could be the laziness one might have. For a college student, several amounts of homework could be assigned within the first week of school, but the professor might state that those specific assignments to that class will be due at the end of the semester. So, one would say to themselves that there is plenty of time not to worry, so the student kicks back and worries about other things. Once, the end of the semester comes the person could have forgotten about the assignment that was given in the beginning of their school year. Now, there is little time to get the tasks finished and turned in, while other teachers in other classes might have assigned homework for the same due date as the other professor. Of course, at this point, the student regrets the decision that he or she might have made to procrastinate until a couple of days before the due date, now the
