The American public has always been fascinated by tragedy. Why? It’s in our human nature, as we tend to gravitate towards looking upon other people’s mistakes or failures as if it were as precious and watchable as someone’s victories. Add in an event so tragic being televised, and you have yourself a hit with everyday U.S citizens. The O.J Simpson Trial was a turning point in not only the American judicial system, but it completely changed the thoughts that there was no more racial division in our country. Both sides gave thorough arguments, Simpson’s team stating there was no way he could have committed the crime with his arthritis and old football injuries (“The Trial”). Some of the evidence brought to the case was a black, bloodied glove found at the scene, which had obviously been used by the murderer. The match to the glove was indeed found outside of Simpson’s residence at the time, but there was controversy of whether or not it had indeed been used by Simpson or the LAPD had planted it there to frame him just because he was a black man. The glove was on of the key points in the trial, one of the prosecutors asked Simpson to try on the glove in front of the jury, but Simpson had a hard time, struggling to put the glove on (“The Trial”). Johnnie Cochran coming up with the famous line, “If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit.” Later, although it turned out there may have been reasons why indeed the glove didn’t fit, because it may have shrunk from the blood it had been soaked in. Over 99 days of the trial, the prosecution alone put 72 witnesses on the stand, including Brown’s family all stating Simpson had a motive to kill her. Another source of evidence brought forward was a match of a blood sample found at the crime scene had belonged to Simpson. The next part of the trial, the defense had brought up family member’s of Simpson’s and his daughter; at this time it had
The jury really didn’t seem to remember the most important piece of information which was that the defendant’s blood was actually found at the crime scene. Bugliosi said “From the moment O.J. Simpson became a suspect in this double murder case, it was in the air, perhaps as in no other case within
On May 4th, 1994, the Goldman family sues O.J. A lot of Simpson’s personal items, such as his trophies and cars were seized. On November 6th 1996, the jury was composed of nine Whites, one Black, one Hispanic, and an Asian. A photographer claims to have taken a picture of Simpson in 1993 wearing Bruno Magli shoes, which were the same ones that were worn by the killer of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman. O.J completely denied the picture; which led the photographer to release to the jury over 30 pictures of Simpson in the shoes. Also, on November 11th, pathologists thought that the scars and scratches on O.J’s hands may have been caused by the victim’s finger nails when trying to resist being stabbed to death. However, Simpson claimed that he might have gotten the cuts and scars on his wrists by “rassling” with his son. (http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/index/nns171.htm)

Many in the country were furious that Turner was only sentenced to six months, believing that he deserved a more appropriate sentence. On the other hand, Turner’s father was upset that his son’s life was ruined by “20 minutes of action” while under the influence of alcohol. Despite the victim arguing for an appropriate legal prosecution and justice for the pain she suffered, the Supreme Court judge assigned to the case, Aaron Persky, stated, “a prison sentence would severe impact on him. As a crime scene investigator, there are duties that have to be met and a job that has to get done. Part of this job includes putting together reliable evidence, and making a list of suspects. As an investigator my job as of right now, is to find evidence to use against Orenthal James Simpson in the prosecution of the murder of his wife Nicole Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. On June 12, 1994, around 10:15 P.M., Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were brutally murdered at her house on 875 S. Bundy in Brentwood, California (Linder).

Some of the hardest decisions on trial are made by the jury, which means the jurors have one of the most important roles when it comes to the trial, since they have to decide on another human’s fate, either. One decision a jury makes can be the difference between going to jail for life or being liberated. When O.J. Simpson was declared “not guilty” for the homicide of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and his friend, Ronald Lyle Goldman, by the Lance Ito, many argued that O.J. should have been proclaimed “Guilty”. Although many claim the verdict given was ideal, strong evidences, proves O.J. Simpson to be guilty for murdering 2 of his close acquaintances.

In 1995, O.J. Simpson, one of the most acclaimed National Football League players, was tried on two counts of murder. This is a case that would stay inclusive forever in the eyes of most Americans; and that would change the way America’s legal system operated. During the trial racism evolved around Simpson and multiple inferences led to an especially controversial definitive, later known as the “trial of the century.”

The constant going back and forth on the decision of whether he is guilty or not. The jury consisted or multiracial people. I believe the jury went with the not guilty verdict to end their suffering of the long exhausting trail. The jury was also not allowed to hear testimony of an inmate who oj Simpson allegedly confessed to the murders to. With all the missing evidence it may look like there was no connection between oj and the crime but if the evidence was used in court then he would have gotten the guilty verdict. Only oj would know his way around Nicole’s house, that’s probably the reason the children slept upstairs of the house unharmed. He also didn’t have no real effort to find his ex-wife’s killer, it was as if he didn’t care. In 2007 he also released a book leading up to both of the murders, as a
