The importance of our world's history is huge, because it teaches us about our past and how we came to be in the world we live in today. History can help you learn about our ancestor’s origins and cultures. In the English Political Heritage there were many important events, but the influence of the Magna Carta, English Bill of Rights, and Philosophers. The Magna Carta was signed in 1215 by King John of England, it limited the power of the king meaning he was no longer above the law and had to follow the law. The citizens also gained some new rights, including, they can’t be charged for any crimes without a form of witness, and no new taxes without discussing with the people about it. The document made a influenced the modern day common law and many constitutional documents, including the United States Constitution. The English Bill of Rights was a British law passed by the Parliament of Great Britain in 1689. The bill declared the rights and liberties of the people. The bill had a massive influence on the colonies in North America and the Constitution of the United States. It established a limited constitutional monarchy in Great Britain. It clearly established that the monarchy could not rule without the consent of Parliament. The term Philosophers was a term given to the thinkers of the Enlightenment.
