William Shakespeare moved to London. This is where he became an actor. He later had a theater built called the Globe where he had many of his plays performed. He has written around 38 plays, some of these plays are well known and famous. Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet are very well known. William Shakespeare was one of the best actors, poets, and playwrights during the Elizabethan time period because his plays were well-written on the major theme of true love.

William Shakespeare was an English poet and a great playwright. He still has a great impact on our history today. Shakespeare has written many plays, including Hamlet, Macbeth, and Romeo and Juliet. He had very extant works which people could not understand (6). Romeo and Juliet is considered to be one of his more famous plays. His plays were translated into many different languages and styles (6). William Shakespeare was a very talented man who had a great impact on history, during the Renaissance time and still does today.

William Shakespeare had a very different life than I thought. He was born on April 23rd, 1564 in Stratford-upon- Avon, England. His parents were Mary Arden and John Shakespeare, and he was one of eight children. Joan was the eldest and died at the age of two months, Margaret was alive for one year, William lived to be 52, Gilbert was 46 years old, Joan (number 2) lived to be 77 years of age, Anne died at 8, Richard died at 39, and the youngest, Edmund, lived to be 27. When William Shakespeare was just 13 he had to discontinue his education to help his father, who was a glove maker. They weren’t a very rich family and they did struggle at times. When he was going to college, he attended King Edward VI School and married Anne Hathaway in 1588 when he was 18 years old and she was 26. In fact, 25,000 individuals from Alberta, Canada, reviewed the K-12 school curriculum and strongly believe Shakespeare shouldn’t be a required author (pressreader.com). However, the study of Shakespeare has become valuable to the literature programs in schools which shapes and challenges the students in influential ways. This can involve the literary techniques and language the readers are exposed to, the knowledge that comes with the studies, the culture it brings and the ability to connect with the stories. Shakespeare is still applicable in today's society and the lives of the students, which is why the teachings of his work is important in classrooms today.

There are those who associate Shakespeare with elevated social status and feel that Shakespeare is no longer relevant to a broad audience and therefore should not be taught. In addition in a world where composition is diminishing as technology becomes more prominent, they believe that Shakespeare is less important. These ideas are flawed as Shakespeare continues to be relevant intellectually, emotionally and most importantly culturally. Shakespeare should continue to be required reading.

Also known as one of the most difficult crafts to master, acting is many things, but overall the skill of adapting words into a visual experience that audiences then digest and carry with them as they continue in their own lives. When a non-actor thinks about acting, one may assume it is an easy job, but the conscious psychological work (skilled) actors put forth in their performances is no easy feat, especially if they are able to come across so authentically that viewers assume acting is easy. However, acting is difficult, and even more difficult when playing a role that was adapted from a novel, as scholar Dudley Andrew asserts in his chapter “Adaptation” in James Naremore’s book “Film Adaptation.” He points out that because the novel has a large fan base before it is adapted, there is also a group of people waiting to scrutinize the film once made. This, in turn, grants the novel a greater sense of superiority over the adaptation, because viewers- fans of the novel- assume that the film will be worse.
