Good afternoon class ladies and gentlemen, thank you for allowing me to have the privilege of speaking in front of you today. About this time I’m supposed to get up here and tell you a little short story about myself, and start off like ever since I can remember, I have always wanted….. But instead I’m be different and start it off a little something like this. I have not always wanted to be your class presentant, but what I have always wanted to do is say something that we all do not have the guts to say. The reason I believe I am the right candidate for this class president because I too don’t believe that teachers and other staffs doesn’t care about what we have to say or what we believe would be right for us, see if when we are going over the syllabus and we all are asking questions we get the response that we didn’t want or hope for, If you vote for me I will have the desire to help make a change, I will help with extracurricular activities, money, and fights will be the issues I plan on mainly addressing. …show more content…
We believe that our schools does not allow us ( freshman and sophomores) the ability to get nominated for homecoming prince and princess. Reason for this are because juniors and seniors goes to prom how come freshman and sophomores does not have the ability to get nominated, are the question that we ask a lot. Well if you vote for me I believe that extracurricular activities should be more than just homecoming and prom. I believe that we should have more school events. For example, school dances, rally, assimbles , and
As a diverse student, in a very low income community I have always been known to standing up for others, as well as for myself. Having this natural drive i found myself taking a huge role in our high school Beta Club. As a natural leader, I was challenged with the opportunity to represent our high school’s Beta Club Chapter while running for North Carolina Beta Secretary. Although I felt experienced as a leader, I was really nervous to get up in front of all of North Carolina and give a speech at the Beta Club convention. Although I was nervous, I opened my mouth, and the words just began to come out. My fears went away, and I addressed everyone on topics of educational improvements and opportunities for all students to succeed. I used this
I am running for sophomore class treasurer because I believe that we should have people in office that actually want to improve the school. I want to have a school where everyone feels like they belong, and have choices about what happens in their lives at school. What I have noticed while I have been in high school is that kids walk the halls everyday hating it not because of the work, but because they feel like their lives are being ran for them and that they have no control over them. They want to give their opinions and they should have that right. Does that mean that every idea is going to be great. No, but kids will feel they got the chance to speak their minds. This is an important time in our lives. We are growing up and on some things we should have a say. I want to make sure they do have that opportunity.
Good morning class of 2019. I am Tori Cichelero, and I am running for Freshman Class President. As a president, my job would be to stabilize each and every single one of us, because we are new to the community of Ursuline Academy. I will make sure we are all involved, so we all get to be connected into the school. In order to be involved, we all have to take risk and try new things. Trying new things can be scary, but it can be so much better when you have a leader to guide you. My guidance can make us freshman the best possible class by using our intelligence, hard-work, responsibility, and kindness. When I think of Ursuline Academy, I think of how great our class is. Each classmate in front of me right now means so much to me. Your grades,
For those you who do not know me, I am Carissa Dorval and I am running for the position of Executive Board Treasurer. There are many reasons why I would make a great addition to the Student Council team. Over the past three years I have held many roles that needed me to posses leadership skills such as, Sophomore Class Treasurer, and being a member of Spirit Committee. Being Sophomore Class Treasurer, and a member of the Spirit Committee has given me the skills I would need succeed as a member of the Executive Board. My role as Class Treasurer last year has given me experience planning all of the activities that student council has authority over such has Toys-for-Tots and Field Day and my involvement in Spirit Committee has given me experience
Being president of the Sophomore Class would be a wonderful opportunity to exercise my strengths and abilities. I think, with my strengths, I would be a great candidate for Class President. I am very interactive and open to new ideas of my classmates, especially when it can better our grade and our future as students. I show outstanding leadership that encourages others to further engage in their positions and responsibilities. To me, I think that it’s important to function as a unit rather than having unbalanced strengths. I would encourage others to be their own leader and make sure they fully indulge in their positions. I accept all responsibilities that come with the position including attendance to the meetings and to school, having good
Good morning to the best family of (school). Before starting off I would like to say I love (school) as much as I love McDonalds. As I’m sure most of you know that my name is Hansley, from seeing my posters around the school you most likely know that I’m running for your communications officer in this year’s student council. Of course as you can see there is a lot of people who are giving speeches so for everyone’s sake I’ll try to keep this as short as possible.
The two questions I was asked while writing this speech was: “What does it mean to serve U-high as a class officer”, and “If I was to be elected how would I plan to fulfill by job?”. There are many ways I could answer this question, and I could make up some random things I could do to get your attention, but in reality I know you all going to vote for your friends, I would. But please, even if you don’t know me, hear me out. First, to answer question number one: “What does it mean to serve U-high as a class officer”, it mean a lot.
In the spring of 2014, I had decided to run in the election for student council. To my surprise, I was nominated as sophomore class treasurer and secretary.
It takes more than words and ideas to put lasting positive change in place, it takes action. Throughout the summer, I kept in contact with the school's administration, and before the first week of school was over, a back to school dance was scheduled. Even though scheduling, and setting up the dance required a lot of work, I was proud that I could do something that everyone in the school could enjoy. As of today the reforms I made to the student council are in full swing. The year is not half over a year, and there has already been twice as many events as in previous full years. Not only that, but things that were unthinkable in the past, such as free admission for most students, have been achieved. Now we come to the most important lesson I think I have ever learned. That real change is possible. Not only in a school setting, but in our homes, and our government. Togethar, through our combined efforts and abilities, we can come together and change our society for the better. The forces of stasis and ossification may seem eternal, but all it takes is one moment where everyone comes together for us to achieve postive and worthwhile
I am extremely honored to be among the students nominated for National Honors Society. Being nominated for such a prestigious organization shows me my dedication to family, academics, and athletics have made me stand out among my peers. Throughout my life, I have always strived to have a high moral character. In academics, I have achieved a high grade point average with grades that are all A’s. In athletics, I have lettered in Varsity sports since I was a freshman. Currently, I am Junior Class President. As Junior Class President, I have the responsibility of representing the Junior Class as well planning the Havana High School prom. I believe representing the Junior Classes interests is a vital part of being class president. The planning and coordination of the high school prom can be quite stressful at times, but I have managed to keep a level head and have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities.
During my junior year of high school, I decided to run for senior class president for the 2016-2017 school year. After the election process (interviews, speeches, and voting), I was elected for this position. I have been apart of student council since I was in seventh grade and I have always been extremely passionate about it. Student Council to me means serving others in your school and community and I can say that I thoroughly enjoy doing that. I wanted to be senior class president because I knew I had the drive, ambition, and work ethic it would take to get things done. As president, I have to make major decisions that have to do with graduation and the senior class as a whole. I wanted to lead and represent the class of 2017 at Durant High
Hello, fellow students, teachers, staff, and family members from Rio Rancho Cyber Academy. I didn’t find out I was to give this speech until Wednesday morning at 9:30, and that’s probably a good thing because I may have tried to arrange not to be salutatorian if I’d had advance notice. Consequently, this speech is probably not what you would expect; and I’m sure half my class would be much more comfortable standing here in front of you I only want to make two points, and I’m sure you will appreciate it when I say they will be quick. First, I want to encourage my class, myself included, to believe in ourselves and strive to reach our goals. Second, I think we all want to thank those who were instrumental
In life, most often people are humble and would state that they have never really accomplished anything before in their lives. Most often people do not like to boast about their accomplishments. Personally for myself I feel that my biggest accomplishment in life would have to be becoming the student body president. I never would have seen myself being in the position that I am today in the past.
I am currently Junior Class President and I would like to transition into Senator of Academics. Accepting the position of leadership this year was a true pleasure. I have learned and evolved as a leader this year because of the projects the junior class has to plan. Planning prom and Mr. Palm Desert has not been easy, but we are currently moving along. With some bumps in a road, we are on track to make this prom one of the most profitable and fun prom yet. Working with my fellow class officers has been fun because we bank on each other's strengths and weaknesses. For example, I am not an artist and I don't can not visually imagine something, so the other three class officers take charge with wall posters. I am very comfortable filling out paperwork
Being a class officer for three out of the four years of my high-school experience is The accomplishment that demonstrates my potential to make significant contributions to the campus community and broader society. As a class officer, I have taken my class’ feelings and suggestions to form our class into the successful student body it is. I help host fundraisers for our class as well as work on giving back to the community. I demonstrate leadership by being able to work with my class officers to compose the highest beneficial decisions for the class. To be voted in by my peers to be the voice of our class is an important achievement for me. From this experience I have learned to take into consideration of everyone’s opinions and needs to produce
