At a certain point in history, a number of European countries turned into the most influential in the world. Countries like Spain, France, Portugal, Netherlands, and England rose to power and each had only one thing at the forefront of their thoughts: superiority. In spite of the fact that they endeavored numerous things to heighten their dominance and power, they all depended on colonization. Today, European colonialism has influenced larger parts of the world. Colonization has not only given Europe fortune and supremacy, but it also reconfigured global power and racial relations. For instance, the center of world studies in most countries is still the history of Europe and America. The principle of Europeans on the formation of a race has turned into a fundamental point in racism where the minorities are seen as inferior and the whites as superior. An occurrence would be the ethnocentrism of the Spaniards in the Philippines during the Spanish era, wherein they replaced our culture with European culture. You can also see in history books that most recognitions for an invention of something were given to white people. Few black people or minorities were mentioned. It is also centered in Eurocentricity, that even the standards of beauty is Eurocentric features or the white features. Another example of white supremacy is an OFW working in London as a maid and her boss or amo abuses her because she is “just a Filipino” thinking that nobody cares about her. In this situation, we see that the maltreatment of some coloreds/minorities by the Europeans somewhat still exists.
