The Global Warming theory has become increasingly popular over the past few years. Citizens of the world are being encouraged to be more environmentally conscious by others including politicians, celebrities, and world organizations. The problem with the theory lies in the fact that it has become more and more controversial as it gains publicity and attention. The basic concept behind this theory is that the earth was made with a balance of “greenhouse gasses”. These gasses are naturally occurring within the atmosphere and they essentially make the planet habitable by keeping it warm.

In the process of creating a new Federal government, inevitable conflicts made compromise absolutely necessary. At the Constitutional Convention in 1787, there were a number of differences between the delegates and the interests they represented. These delegates came from different backgrounds, and held different political views. One issue that was hotly debated was the argument of how many representatives each state should be allowed. The issue of including a Bill of Rights was also addressed. As a result, compromise was desperately needed.

The Constitution of 1787 established the executive branch of the government with a president, the judicial branch, and gave the government the power to levy taxes. It also established the two houses of the legislature, on house have equal state representation, the other house’s representation was based on the population of the state.

What is compromise? Compromise is a settlement by each side with each accepting standards lower than originally desired. Therefore there would need to be a conflict or dispute for there to be compromise in the first place. By that logic you can say that the United States from 1774-1865 is an example of being in a state of constant compromise. Not all compromises are successful such as, The Articles of Confederation, The Compromise of 1850, and lastly the Kansas-Nebraska Act.

There’s was an issue among the 13 colonies. Virgina want to make two parts in the congress. They want to do have a House and Senate. New Jersey wanted it to stay the same and each state should have one vote. The New Jersey Plan proposed a unicameral (one-house) legislature in which all states had the same number of representatives no matter what the population was. This plan was, not surprisingly, the favorite of smaller states, which stood to gain power from it. Smaller states of course had a lower population than the bigger, more populated states. How would the votes be far to have the votes deal with population when other states have more people than smaller states.

Global warming is one of the most controversial topics in the world today. Global warming describes a condition where the average temperature of the earth’s atmosphere and oceans increase.
