The Federal Government

Federal Student Aid helps students get meet the costs of going to college or career school with grants, or loans or work study programs. It helps students learn about what help the government has and how to apply for and get financial help.

The federal government and state governments have had a long history of powers struggles. The struggle goes back and forth between who has the right to make decisions and if there is a problem who should fix it. Sometimes it is better for the federal government to fix issues and during other situations it is better for the state or local governments to fix other issues. In the PBS special of the United States Constitution, Peter Sagal travels around the states documenting the various roles and impact the government has on the country as a whole and on the individual states.

Objective of this paper is to discuss where the following agencies lie in the administrative structure of the federal government:

At the most basic division, there are three main levels of governments in the United States; The Federal level, the State level, and the Local level. Each of these levels has their own legitimacy, their own authority/jurisdiction and most of the time has their own way wo working with or around the other levels though there is sometimes clashes. Let's start with Legitimacy first. The Constitution of the United States of America is the overarching document that gives legitimacy and the authority to govern to the various governments in the U.S, but specifically the Federal government. States in the United States also have their own constitutions that they draw legitimacy and authority from as well as specific regulations. The Constitution also act a the framework for what the different levels of government are authorized to do, thought the 14th amendment opened the floodgates on authority for the Federal government. But in a generalized sense, The federal government acts mostly in the areas of foreign policy, national defense and any endeavors that cross state jurisdictions in the U.S, particularly interstate commerce. State governments focus mostly on directly providing for and regulating goods and services within their state, along with distributing federal grant money and transferring money to local services. Local governments almost exclusively provide goods and services within their jurisdiction and utilize funds from both the federal and state levels. As per the U.S. Constitution the Federal government has the authority to; Lay and collect taxes, provide for the common defence, provide for the general welfare, borrow money, regulate commerce with foreign nations, Indian tribes, and between states, establish rules of Naturalization, coin money, constitute tribunals to the supreme court, establish post offices and post roads, deal with

The United States government was formed to create a democracy fit for the idea that they would be considered “land of the free.” Unfortunately, throughout the history of several world wide events, the intentions of the “forefathers” have strayed to manipulate events and people. The government has been accused for many past years of lying when main events strike the nation causing many tragedies as well as causing emotional anguish on the world. Many claims of false accusations are typically only made public after several years of sealed documents and evidence are put away, which indeed could be a conspiracy of its own. Conspiracies have been made throughout the course of many years for just about any event that occurs around the world. Conspiracies can vary anywhere from ludicrous to factual, there has been specific verifiable evidence to suggest that the events, 9/11, JFK assassination, and Gulf of Tonkin, as told, are not completely accurate.

Today, many Americans are firm believers that the federal government is constantly overreaching and causing citizens to feel harassed and mislead. The idea that the federal government has become overly powerful is exceedingly common throughout the United States. In many cases, the federal government does overstep by inappropriately using the power that they possess. However, there is a fine line between rebelling against the federal government for your own freedom and completely overlooking all of the same laws and rights that the rest of the American citizens are expected to abide by. The Cliven Bundy standoff is a 20-year legal dispute between the United States Bureau of Land Management and Cliven Bundy, who was illegally grazing his cattle on federally owned land in the southeastern Nevada area. Cliven Bundy’s disobedience was uncivil, and could have been handled in a much better way.

The United States federal government is composed of three institutions, the Congress, the President, and the Supreme Court. Based on the Constitution of the United States, the federal system, and the separation of power, the three branches exist and each represents the three institutions, the legislative branch is vested by the Congress, the judicial branch is vested by the Supreme Court, and the executive branch is vested by the President. The three distinct branches are respectively independent of each other, providing checks and balances, and preventing the abuse of power existed in the government. The federal government and state government divide the power of the Unites States government. In order to ensure citizens are close enough to the government, the drafters of the Constitution must not deprive the principle of freedom from its citizen and have to retain state’s autonomy. Meanwhile, each state has its own written constitution, and the state constitution contains provisions for the local government within the state.

The United States government may not always be seen as a flawless group; however, it is generally more favorable than having corporations ruling over America. In Pills and Starships, Nat and her family do not have a stable government to rely on, and they are instead at the whims of the corps’ intense regulations, pharmacontrol, and sponsored massacres. The corps uses manipulation often in order to achieve their goal of rejuvenating the Earth so they can remain. In Pills and Starships, Lydia Millet demonstrates how a corporate controlled body has enough influence within the collapsing society to dictate how Nat and her family act as citizens.

The United States government has sets up a system where each of the states can set up their own laws. Since each state has that ability, anyone traveling from state to state can find this very difficult since the laws change from state to state. Kansas has set up several laws that seem ridiculous but there are some that actually have some logical reasoning behind them. It would be difficult for any police officer to enforce every single law from the state and the country. No one can remember every single law; after all, no one is perfect. Often local residents find they are irritated and frustrated, mostly at law enforcement, but also at people when they see people breaking the law and getting away with it. They ask themselves questions like; where are the police officers when the law is being broken, or where are the police when you need them. They fail to realize that the police cannot be everywhere at every second of the day.

Financial aid is a sensational implement for students all around the world. It is done in several different ways and benefits the lives of so many people. Different levels of government work together to fund students by providing programs like FAFSA. The federal government ensures the cooperation of state and local governments by providing funds to help them implement important programs.

The federal government is composed of three distinct branches: legislative, executive and 3judicial. These powers are vested by the U.S. Constitution in the Congress, the President, and the federal courts, including the Supreme Court and it is comprised of the president and his cabinet. It is his or her job to enforce the laws of the constitution. It is composed of the entire judicial system, and not just the supreme court.
