Many heroes exists in todays world. Some are just fictional but the real ones are the ones worth mentioning. A true hero is a person who is willing to sacrifice everything for the well being of others. they're giving personalities cause them to give everything they can to help others. They are constantly in a race to fight for something beneficial to all.

When someone thinks “hero” they probably picture a burly man in a suit and cape, weaving between skyscrapers and saving small, screaming and vulnerable citizens from some evil force. Although not all heroes wear capes and fly around saving people, all heroes have a common virtue - the ability and willingness to sacrifice themselves for the good of others. Furthermore, heroes tend to follow a particular sequence of events, referred to as a “Hero’s Journey.” Abraham Lincoln was a hero because he follows Joseph Campbell’s “Hero’s Journey” and was a vehicle of change for the United States of America. Lincoln grew up in a very modest setting, and lived on the edge of poverty.

Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln are both heroes, due to the fact that they put their own lives at stake to spread the dream of freedom and liberty to all people. Douglass was a brave man, working as a speaker for justice and liberty for all slaves. He put his own life at risk, albeit reluctantly at first, but soon grew accustomed to it and was able to do it with greater passion. He even gathered the respect of some poets and teachers. Robert Hayden, a renowned teacher, quoted in a poem, that “this man shall be remembered… not with statues rhetoric… but with lives grown out of his life, the lives fleshing his dream of the beautiful needful thing.”(SB p.70) Lincoln was also extremely brave in that regard, but instead of standing in speaking,

“I want to be Batman.” That is a typical response from a preschooler if they are asked what they want to be when they grow up. However, heroes are not always wearing capes. They can simply be an Indian man that changed his mindset into something more inspirational. There is one thing that Superman and a policeman have in common. They are both heroes. No matter how different the fields are, they are brave, helpful, and hardworking. A hero can be someone known for courageous achievements. They are normally men, but can be women too. Heroes come in many different ways. Some characteristics of a hero are someone who has enormous courage, strength, and knowledge. They usually have a big effect on people’s life and are pretty well known. A hero is also known for helping people and not doing it out of revenge. They must have a good heart because they are putting themselves at risk for others. The people need to have trust in him because he is putting their life on the line, so they cannot be evil. A true hero isn’t perfect. They have disagreements and bad days, but the motivation to get back up and help day after day is definitely a true hero. Being a hero is tiring, because being a hero is not a one-time thing, so one cannot just do something good for a day and call themself heroes. Being a hero means loving what you do. Throughout this semester, we mainly discussed the hero’s journey and characteristics as an ancient tale, such as in Beowulf and Grendel. But as we also saw, the hero’s potential is present in everyone with no regard of times. As such, when studying modern stories, we can see that aspects of hero’s journey are still a major theme. In The Matrix, Neo, an average hacker, who might not be seen as a hero in the first place will soon show all characteristics to become one. As a result we would study in this paper how The Matrix as a modern tale with aspects of the hero’s journey, heroes’ archetypes as well as mythical themes, can be considered as a modern example of a hero’s tale.

A hero, whether real or unreal, continues to be one of the world’s most treasured fascination. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a hero is anyone who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities. One must possess courage, selflessness, and passion in order to be classified as a hero. These characteristics are not familial, not common and certainly not easy to acquire.

There are many types of heroes (such as the ones in comic books, myths, movies, or even just everyday life heroes) but all of them have perseverance when they’re going through a conflict. Heroes are role models and they’re people that we look up too. They all have unique and special qualities that make one another different from each other. For example policemen battle crime everyday and when they’re overcoming a conflict they have determination, courage and other traits that people admire them for and that make them as a hero. Typically a hero is admired for their achievement/actions and qualities.

When we think of heroes most of us think of movie stars or professional athletes, but it’s not always about your popularity or talent it can also be about how you help society. What I think make a great hero is someone who is able to overcome his or her obstacles in life, is highly motivated, and has plenty of bravery.

They are incredibly important aspects of society and we would be lost without them. Heroes are the type of people who risk their lives for others and they are willing to help anyone no matter the situation or it’s possible consequences. A hero demonstrates leadership and they are calm under pressure, but don’t try to be selfish and they don’t put their own safety before others’.

Toddlers, kids and teens have heroes, and so do numerous adults in the world today. However, it is unclear what makes someone a hero, moreover, since everyone's heroes are different, there are a few deciding factors of what makes a hero. 1 of the deciding factors that makes a hero is being a role model, #2 is being selfless, and #3 is being modest. In our story, "The Last Leaf" written by O. Henry, it's apparent that Mr. Behrman saves Johnsy's life while he dies. Is Mr. Behrman a hero or not?

“It’s a bird. No, it’s a plane! No, it’s Superman!” citizens argued. Superman and many other superheroes come to mind when the word hero is said. Heroes are depicted as people in capes with special powers, but the truth is that this is not necessarily true. A police, teacher, parent, etc. can be considered as a hero. A hero possesses several admirable characteristics, such as courage, being altruistic, and inspiring others. There are several ways to become a hero, but any ordinary person can be a hero with a single heroic act if the act makes them to be a role model, is selfless, and makes a difference.

The characteristics of an epic hero range from unfathomable strength and courage to simply being a good person. A typical epic hero has super strength, courage, devotion, loyalty, a strong sense of justice, a primary weakness, a love of glory, and they are usually champions of freedom. There have been innumerable changes in the characteristics of an epic hero over time; however, there are a few key traits that will forever stay the same. Beowulf is a prime example of an archetypal epic hero—past and present—because he exudes qualities such as loyalty and honor, courage, and adroitness to risk his life for others and the “greater good” of society.
