Darkness The small pieces of gravel cut deep into my skin as I skidded along the ground away from the cabin. I gave the figure standing in the darkness of the doorway a vicious glance. I felt the pain growing on my knees and my cheek. My bright blue eyes started to fill with tears and what was my sleek, smooth brown hair was messed up and dirty. I was always teased for my fear of the bogeyman and the dark. I got my fear when something was moving under my bed in the middle of the night and my brother said it was the bogeyman. So ever since I have been petrified at night of the bogeyman. When I arrived to camp my class had the talk. The don't feed the animals, no walking around at night. The thing they say every year but I didn't …show more content…
I thought it was a good idea but I was wrong that bush was poison ivy as a frantically wiped my nose with the leaves I realised that. My nose started swelling with such speed I could only see from the sides away from the nose. My screams attracted a black and white figure. I started to scream even louder It was the bogeyman I thought. I was terrified the figure was so scary it could scare the wings off a fly. Then I heard a noise that no bogeyman would make, a noise that a raccoon makes. Raccoons I thought, why are they after me. They looked cute at first then up close they became feral monsters. I ran for my life. They started to chase me from on top of the old dying trees I felt a stone hit the top of my head. The raccoons were dropping things on my head, on the bright side, I thought at least these aren't monkeys, they would be throwing something else. I could hear a creek in the distance. If I ran to it I could dive in and they lose my scent. As the gushing water became louder I noticed how long I had been out here it was almost pitch black. I could see the river flowing towards the camp, I jumped in to the river. It chilled me to the bone. Then as my head popped out of the water I could see the majestic sun rise. And with the night my fear was now
It was 5:00, it’s crazy that we had been walking for hours and it hadn’t even felt like it. As I peered between tall trees, I saw a waterfall way out in the distance, the two of us decided to head that way. It took about five minutes to get to the falls and it was breathtaking. The setting sun floated just above the rocks behind and around the stream of water sloping down the mountain side.So there we stood, on top of the world, in front of a pink and orange sky as the constant sound of water crashing into the lower river filled my ears, I was in awe. Allegedly, Erin felt the same way because neither of us said anything for at least ten minutes. I felt as if I could stay there forever. I pulled out my phone to take a picture of this gorgeous view, but time after time each picture turned out bad and not what the actual scene looked like. I realized at that moment that some things are just too great to take a picture and I think that is the way things are supposed to be. The fresh breeze was back again and it was even colder than earlier . I then realized just how cold I was and checked my watch, it read 5:45, the perfect time to start heading back to the
I came up closer to the water and checked how cold it was. Being calm it had so many different hues of blue, reflecting a bright blue sky, near the shore it was pale blue, nearly translucent, as it got deeper it changed from pale blue to deep dark blue. I leaned down to touch the water in the lake. It was cool and so transparent that I could see everything on the bottom. At that moment I felt wonderful smell of roasting meat in the air. This familiar aroma tickled my nostrils and reminded me that I had not eaten since the morning.
When I opened my eyes and watch the top I could see one dead brown leaf falling. When I took a breath and closed my eyes I could hear someone coming. The water was getting hotter and hotter.
I once had a fear, a fear that could break me down, a fear that would surround my whole body and squeeze the light light out of me every time I thought about it. Alone . . . or surrounded, my mind would subconsciously, repeatedly, irritatingly remind me that Death once said, "You have to believe in God like you believe in the sunrise. Not because you can see it, but because you can see all it touches." ~C.S. Lewis
The sweat dripped off my forehead and onto the cold dirt. I was scared, my head was throbbing. I could hear the music but it was slowly drifting away. All the yelling and and singing was getting faded away by me thinking i've been forgotten, and the crunching of the leaves.
Thoughts rushed through my head about how I was going to survive and whether I will ever see my parents again. It began too much for me to handle it felt as though my skull was caving in, I allowed myself to lie down. My thoughts evaporated as I focused on the nature around me, the water trickling down the mossy rocks making their way down to the river below, the birds chirping and the trees blowing through the wind.
We kept walking and we saw another trail but it looked really spooky so since we weren’t scared we followed the trail through a dark forest it was something else , we heard some scary noises from the woods we were so scared that we started running like we usually do when we hear something scary it was really amusing . We continued to follow the trail it was really peaceful we saw big pond and houses far away in that particular spot it looked so beautiful I could just faint that's how beautiful Mother Nature was for the second time , we kept walking and walking we saw a deer it was radical and was making weird noises though it was really funny , we kept walking we saw big pond and there was a long bridge there was water from the pond on the bridge a little bit my friends thought it was funny to start splashing it to each other then I saw a black thing in the water just wiggling and I realized it was letch I screamed so loud "ahhhhhhhh" while panicking we decide to go back home before we see more surprising #scary things along the
Cold was the night as lightning danced across the sky. The storm swept across the feild without warning. The barn blew over as if hit by a wrecking ball. I could do nothing as the debree rushed toward me, frozen in fear I braced myself. Bam! Everything went black and the still silence seemed to last forever, then I saw a light. My entire life I had stood in the same place. Always watching over the vegtables and keeping them safe from the
I ran until liquid metal began to flow through my body, calcifying my muscles, making every single step more painful than the one before. All around me were taunting shadows of ebony, save for the slim cracks between the leaves, where little moonlight seeped through. Wrestling a tangle of lifeless branches, my foot skidded across a slippery patch of damp leaves, throwing my helpless body a metre into the air. As my tumbling sequence down the hill ended, a fallen branch slashed my leg as my body halted beside a thundering river. Gulping down a mouthful of numbing cold air, I mustered up the courage to peek at my throbbing leg. The sickening dry and sweet metallic scent of blood reached my nose as I looked down at my exposed flesh, raw and pouring buckets of gooey red fluid from the fresh
I wake up in the morning to go out hunting. After grabbing a washcloth I go into the bathroom and wash my face with warm water. The warmth of the water warms my body and I am wide awake. I go down the hall into the room where my family keeps our hunting clothes. The room has a coolness to it. After putting my clothes on I grab my gun and head out the door. It is the crisp cool morning of November 5th. Driving to the meadow to go to my stand I saw nothing. I get out of the truck tell my dad good luck and I start walking on the side of the woods. Hearing the frost crack and crunch as I am walking. Entering the woods the sound of leaves rustling under my feet. I reach my stand, hook my rifle to the tow string and climb up the stand. The freezing
First of all, a fear of mine is the ocean. I have this fear because the idea of a wave coming towards you while your in the water and getting swept from land and also sharks, stingrays, etc. Also, the idea that we've only explored only %3 of our oceans is kind of creepy. I've had this fear for around 6 years. I expect to overcome this fear sometime.
“Ah ha!” I said, realizing my phone was placed in my pocket! “NO! Oh no! My phone is dead! Oh no!” There was nothing I could do except pick a route and continue on it. I started walking through the trees. I took a few turns, just to keep it even. The sun was setting. I couldn’t stop thinking of the pictures I saw on the internet. It was so beautiful! This was starting to seem less beautiful and more dangerously terrifying. The night began to deepen and the nightly noises were coming. There were wolves howling, and bears growling! It couldn’t become much worse. At least that’s what I thought. I then stepped in a puddle of mud and squashed a pile of what I hoped was berries. I heard something in the bushes. I-it w-w-was a b-b-b-bear! I ran as fast as I had ever moved in my entire existence. I was about to be eaten by a growling, starving...brown bear? Wait a minute, I thought as I was sprinting to my death, Brown bears don’t live in Minnesota. What is one doing in the middle of Voyageurs Park? Just then I ran into the lake. “At last!” I said, “The lake to the hotel!” I swam as fast as I could and to my surprise, all the lights appeared to be on. On a normal day I would have turned them off, but maybe I forgot. The bear was still chasing me so I ran inside and petrified to turn back, I didn’t close the door. I just ran up to my room and when I got inside, there was a muffled shuffling from the corner of the room. I figured a squirrel got into my room (again!). I began to walk over to it with a pillow. As I was ready to strike it, the lights turned on. “SURPRISE!” everyone cheered. “Did we fool you?” one man with a black suit asked. He had a microphone in hand, which I didn’t understand. “Um...y-ya I reckon you did.” What was going on? Was this another antic? I thought. Well it had turned out that I was picked to be on a
I started to hyper-ventilate, I wanted curl into a ball until this storm passed. What was making me so scared, so unsettled? I had been in this forest in the summer
I ran into the row of pine trees. Four faces are talking to me in panic. I feel a cooling sensation go over my right knee and then a rush of pain. I glance down, and all I see is blood. I scream, and my voice is echoing throughout the whole lake. My grandpa calms me, and carries me to the car.
I felt safe from my surrounding, I could see the Moon and sun together, warm and beautiful, night and day in one,I looked at the waterfall in amazement when I touched the water it was cool. I walked into the water to the Waterfall, I entered the cave lit with warmth , slowing walking with caution until I saw the end of the tunnel and saw two touches ,was cool to the touch. Feeling the warmth from the sun above you and the soft grass under my feet. Different smells of many flowers and beautiful rows of growing scenery. At the end stood an Old oak tree, old, beautiful and tall, I looked up and it seemed to go up forever, the plush green grass felt soft and warm. I could feel my heart beating a little faster
