When deciding to give your teen a cell phone it’s imperative that you research the pro’s and cons of adolescents having cell phones. When a child hits their teen years they become more involved with their friends than they do their family. So, we as parents find that giving them a cell phone helps to modify their whereabouts and gives us peace of mind knowing we can always get a hold of them and vise versa. Since our teens are so focused on friends, having a cell phone has been a useful tool in getting the instant gratitude that they are looking for. Unfortunately, studies have shown there are many medical issues that will affect teens in their future years as adults. Below is a list of the seven mishaps with a brief description. 1. Tendonitis: Many people who use a cell phone on a regular basis text daily; this is a new way to communicate. By texting daily we will see more and more individuals with tendonitis in their hands, which will cause arthritis and carpal tunnel. 2. Stress: Having a cell phone can be stressful because many teens are very vulnerable and it’s important to them to have friends and to be able to fit in with their peers.
