1.0 Introduction
In this capstone integrated project report, the project team explored the firm Ride More Innovations Ltd. (RMI) and its first product, Mac Ride . Mac Ride is a unique, front mounted, child seat for mountain bicycles. This report begins by analyzing the child bike seat industry. Subsequently, RMI’s current strategy, potential markets and competitors across various geographical locations are investigated in detail. Based on this analysis, different strategies are analyzed before a final recommendation is suggested. The report also includes an implementation guide for the recommended strategy as well as a description of the finance required to execute the strategy and expected results of the strategy execution.

Accordingly, the child can participate in the ride, stand on the stirrups, all while having fun and learning about balance and speed. Additionally, parents benefit by having the opportunity to have a real conversation with his/her child without distractions or having to continually look back. Mac Ride facilitates a closer connection between parents and children in their bicycle riding experience.
Mac Ride seats are easy to set up and suitable for off-road riding, and, therefore, support an active, engaged experience for children. Once the Mac Ride seat is removed, the only thing left on the bike is a small spacer ring which blends into the bicycle design and may go completely unnoticed. Easy removal and installation also allows parents to exchange the Mac Ride child seat quickly so parents may take turns exploring and sharing their bicycling adventure with their child.
There do exist conventional front mounted bicycle children’s seats. However, they have limited space and children quickly outgrow the plastic seats which are usually clunky, aesthetically unpleasing, and difficult to maintain. However, Mac Ride has extendable legs and a movable seat, allowing children to use the seat for a longer duration than other conventional front mounted seats. Depending on the size of the bike and height of the rider, children as old as 6 can easily use and have fun with Mac Ride.

I remember the first time riding a bike without my training wheels. Daddy clips the bike helmet below my chin and slips on the knee and elbow pads, while mommy fiddles with the video camera on the side walk. I mount my tiny bike as if it was valiant horse, and playfully twist the handle bars back and forth like revving a motorcycle. The most glorious moment, is when dad finally lets go of the bike and I pedal down the street, the glittery streamers flowing from my handle bars. I no longer have my parents steadying the bike making sure that I don’t topple over. I am completely on my own maneuvering this machine. After a child adapts to riding a bike, they start to experiment with the bikes capabilities. They ride the bike backwards, try fancy tricks at the skate park, and completely take their hands off the handle bars. However, should a child ride their bike with no handle bars, risking having complete control of their bike and their safety just because they can?
