My philosophy of success is simply being content with your life. To me personality, I still do not know what contentment is to me and that's fine. I can guess it is being independent, with a job I am passionate about and surrounded by people that truly care about me. Success is finding that point in life that, if things stayed like how they are at this moment then it would be alright. I'm not saying to stop improving yourself or that after that point nothing bad or better will happen. Success has a unique meaning to everyone. To me, success means doing what I love, being happy, and to make good money.

What is success? Is success something that you can eat? Is it a physical object you can touch or a psychological feeling in the mind? Success is characterized differently by various people. For some people it means wealth. Others it means happiness. To me, success means making sure my family is living a healthy happy life. It means making valuable life decisions and having a feeling of belonging. Success is not only about helping yourself reach full potential. It is about bringing others along and giving them the opportunity to excel together in life.

Success, as described by Winston Churchill, is “…going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.” This has taken on greater meaning in our modern day, as the path to success has seemingly become more complex. Undoubtedly success can only be defined by the individual. In the video, “What’s Your Definition of Success?”, a man explains that success are the smiles he receives from his wife and child. To me this is the best response because it explains that happiness should be the ultimate goal, and you will be successful no matter the outcome as long as you are happy with how you achieved your goals.

First, let’s ask ourselves, what does success mean? Success means the achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted. One factor of being successful is having grit, Grit is a special blend of persistence and passion. My second tip to becoming successful is to get better at difficult things. My final tip is when you fail to try over again.

The word success has many meanings to me one of the meanings is to take priority over my grades and to keep them up to get my degree. This is not my only definition of the word though, when talking about success, success to me is to help people who cannot help themselves. Ones that cannot afford the good things in life. Someday I hope to take my degree somewhere where I can make a difference, a real difference in the world. What is success? Is it the process of doing a task and receiving a positive result acceptable amongst the community, or is it simply achieving ones own personal goals? Success to me can mean many things. Although I am successful in school, that does not necessarily mean I will lead a successful life.

The dictionary may have a set definition for the word “success”, but every individual has his or her own interpretation of what may make something or someone successful. Money, status, and power all initially come to mind, but success is not entirely about an end result of monetary rewards. At High Point University, students are taught to value the motivation and determination behind being successful, and how being successful must also be satisfying. There must be a passion and drive behind all that a person chooses to be and accomplish. Furthermore, the end result must be a life of significance. The opportunities I have been presented with as a first-year student are meant to guide me to achieve just that, and I intend on taking full-advantage of all this campus has to offer.

As an eighteen year old, the term of success has been used in many different contexts. Although, we tend to define success as a person who has made millions or someone who has broken down barriers for the next generation, however, have we been leaving out the most important part of success? Does being successful guarantee your happiness? Does it replace those lonely nights? Does success replace those sleepless nights? Does it replace the friends you have lost along your path? In my opinion, it does not. Success cannot be determined merely based off of comparisons with another person. In fact, I am a firm believer in do what makes you happy because everyone else is temporary in our lives. My definition of success is based on self happiness because if you cannot be happy with yourself how can you bless others?

Success for me means live the life you’ve always wanted. Accomplish all your goals and being happy. If you are not happy you are not successful.

Success to me is being happy with who I am and not to try be someone else. I don’t have to be the best athlete, the prettiest girl in the class or on earth or the smartest, most intelligent kid on the planet. Success is doing your best with what you have in life. I would like to get high marks in all my classes at Craig Kielburger and university. However, if I can look at myself in the mirror and say, “I honestly did my best” then

Socially, I define success by asking your teacher for help when you need it, participating, and being active in discussions to be successful. Also, when I am playing soccer with my teammates, working together, and striving for our common goal we can achieve success. Academically, if I stay organized, put schoolwork first, and study hard, I can easily achieve success. Personally, if I take my responsibilities more seriously, I can be successful.

Success is to fulfil a goal that you have set for yourself. Achievement of success involves five components: realisation, confidence, motivation, action and perseverance. Step one is to realise your goal and how to achieve it. Step two is to have the confidence to take the steps towards your goal. Step three is to find motivation to keep you on the path towards you goal. Step four is action, the first physical step you take in the process for success. Step five is perseverance. On the road to success, you will most definitely come to setbacks and struggles. The only way to conquer those things and achieve your goal is to have strong perseverance.
