Strict Driving Age

One of the most commonly discussed topics is teens and the way they drive. The question that has been going around is should the driving age be raised or stay the same or should stricter laws be created and enforced. One reason it may also seem as though many accidents are caused by teens, they are caused by adults. The driving age should remain at 16 years old, because it gives teenagers a sense of responsibility and it would cause conflict with parents/guardian work and activities.

Teenagers at the age of 16 should be able to drive with an addition of enforcing strict laws for teenagers under 18. Holding them two more restrictions and keep them more responsibility as suggested by Andrea Summers, coordinator of the teen driving program …show more content…

There are three scientific reasons that have been determined by Marla Jo Fisher, Orange County Register, " Parents become so weary of hauling their precious ones around to their endless engagements that they'd do anything to quit being the Parental Taxi Authority(Fisher)." That was the number one out of the three reasons. When teens are in high school and they are playing three sports one per season and are active among clubs, parents can't work and chauffeur their teens to their schedule, but also at their convenience.

In conclusion, the age for driving should remain the same. It teaches responsibility if more stricter laws are enforced and adults can lead by example. Parents feel like it is their time to learn so parents can focus on what they need to do, but so that the busy teens can get things done that they need to without having to call a parent to pick them up. It is now time for parents to let their children grow up, learn to drive and teach their children the right way to make everyone safer on the road. Thus, referring back to leading by
