The 80’s cult classic film, The Breakfast Club, was written and directed by John Hughes. This teen drama comedy film stars Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy, who all plays teenagers in high school. All five of these characters are all from different cliques who are forced to spend the whole day together in detention because they violated the school rules in some shape or form. Known as the Princess, Athlete, Criminal, Brain and Basket Case, they eventually come to terms that they all have something in common with one another. These films are ones that are re-leased throughout the years with much more excitement to them and that have a very similar fan base as when it first came out. The Breakfast Club is one that is enjoyed by various generations of audiences due to the entertainment and the teenage stereotypes that follow it. By having a character from each clique, such as the tough guy, the jock, the insecure and timid one who hides behind her clothes, prom queen and the Brainiac, it allows the audience and fan base to immediately relate to them. The fan base is able to connect to the film because the concept is still relatable in today’s society. Even though the movie was not as popular when it was first released back in the days, overtime fans started to appreciate the great works and cultural influence brought by Hughes. It remained popular as coming of age films among teens, as well as their parents because of the famous actors that stared in the film. Therefore, The Breakfast Club, was re-released in 2015 in theaters for their 30th anniversary and was screened worldwide. This was the first time it has been shown on a big screen since the 1980’s and fans were all over it.
