Social workers should receive training when working with Mexican migrant families. This population encounter different types of stressed due to acculturation and it’s important for the social worker to understand how this process is affecting the families. Its also important to train the social workers on the policies so that they know exactly that procedures to follow and who to contact in order for the children and families to receive the appropriate assistance. They should also be familiar with the local U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services so they know and have an understanding of the application process or petition paperwork. At hours on June 26, 2016, I, Cpl. Lessane, along with Deputy Wright, with the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office, responded to 2863 Two Sister Ferry Road, in the county of Hampton, in regards to a disturbance incident. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the complainant, Susan Wells, who stated a yellow aggressive lab, chased her and her husband while riding their bicycle on Two Sister Ferry Road. Deputies attempted to make contact with the dogs and its own, no contact was made.
She stated that they reviewed my email, and after talking with the case manager, the case manager already opened her TANF and issue benefits.
Today, we have a patient arrive for a scheduled appointment, self-referred, with her sister. The client, Anika, is a 31 year old female of Indian decent. She has never been married or have any children as well. She is a part time graduate student in Library Sciences and currently holds a 3.79 GPA. Anika is also a full time employee at a bank. Originally from Boston, she now lives in Western New York to attend school. When she arrives for the appointment, she is properly dressed, not a crease in her clothes, or a hair out of place, and is average height and weight. She is cooperative with the appointment process and also provides logical information pertaining to the questions at hand. On the paperwork given to Anika, she states that she was demanded by her sister to attend the appointment, unclear exactly why her sister wants her to come. Her sister replies that Anika is very “stubborn” and “inflexible” with everyday life and, therefore, causes tension between them. When asked about her general lifestyle, Anika states she devotes almost all of her time to work. As requested the writer provided a brief summary of Corey's housing needs, mental Illness and drug addiction. Trudy was glad to hear that Corey has been referred to PARc / Dandenong as this will provide extra time for a Housing Worker to support Corey to find a sharing accommodation. Trudy stated that according to Corey' income this is the only choice Corey had to find a place to live.
1. Maria is a 12-year old female of Mexican-American descent. She currently is in the fifth grade at Eaton Elementary School. She was presented to the School Social Worker for an assessment based on teacher recommendations and other psychological testing. She appears disheveled and socially withdrawn. After fully interviewing Maria’s teachers and parents, and observing Maria at a minimum of three times, along with a record review, we will be able to determine what other assistance, if any Maria needs to be successful in school.
Under the social work profession, social workers embrace the principle of social justice and are committed to work toward achieving social change. In direct practice, social workers work with individuals living in poverty and subjected to all sorts of injustices. In social work, practitioners work in partnership with clients, when coming up with possible solutions to the presenting problems. It is important that in the process, social workers remain with a nonjudgmental attitude and look at how the person’s environment has been harmful to his or her life. For example, when a social worker is working with a homeless individual, it is crucial to “begin where the client is”, while assessing the client’s current needs.

Penny is a very sweet and happy girl who enjoys daily preschool learning activities. She is passionate about arts and crafts and loves to play with playdough at school. She also enjoys playing with unit theme related puzzles and shows her pleasure with big smile as she completes each puzzle. She is an active participant of adult directed learning tasks: such as, music and movement, calendar, weather, sound of the week circle, social circle, and table time activities.
Jeanette seem very frustrated upon her arrival. She sat on the black couch next to the lamp. While sitting down, she rippled her fingers one by one up and down her dress. As the session continued, it looks that she was impatient because she was shaking her legs. Jeanette, yells out loud with deep voice that her mother is weak and her father is uncaring. It got even worse when she talked about her mother leaving to rectify her teachers license. She stood up and paced back and forth throughout the room hitting her hand speaking on the duties that she had to fulfill. Jeanette then sat down clam and elaborated about the time Mr. Wells to her to the bar. As she talked about attendance at the bar. She mentions that someone from the neighborhood had been watching their family and reported them to social services. Two days later social services arrived at their house for a visit. They examined the house and saw that there was food in the house and that the father was taking care of the children. Before leaving their neighborhood social services went to their neighbors. The neighbors reported that their mother and father I good parents that seek out to provide for their family. The school was then contacted and reported that the children are fine and Mrs. Wells works with the school district.
