There are four different seasons in each year. These four seasons include Summer, Winter, Fall, and Spring. Each season affects various aspects of our everyday lives in their own way. For Example, winter and summer changes almost everything that we do during both of the times that each season occurs. Some differences of summer and winter is temperature changes and precipitation changes. One similarity is that the Olympics are taken place in both seasons. Many people view winter and summer as antonyms; however, the two seasons share some similarities.
One of the differences of winter and summer is the temperatures. The summer is most likely everyone`s favorite season. Because of the variation of temperatures between the two seasons,

Another one of the differences between the two seasons is the average precipitation. During the winter, rainfall is more present than rainfall in the summer. Nobody likes a rainy day. People are more likely to feel happy during a day with lots of sunshine. There are many fun and entertaining games to do on a rainy day, but many people still prefer to go outside on a sunny day and enjoy different kinds of activities. Also, because of the precipitation in the winter, more car wrecks are likely to happen. During the summer car wrecks are not as bad as they are in the winter because of the dry ground and seldom rainfall. The average winter precipitation in the state of Alabama is 5.37 inches(136 millimeters). The average summer precipitation for the state of Alabama is 4.62 inches(117 millimeters). Also the average winter precipitation for the state of Arizona is 1.23 inches(31 millimeters). The average summer precipitation for the state of Arizona is 1.38 inches(35 millimeters).
On the other hand, winter and summer have some similarities, such as the Olympics, season extremes, and the different holidays that take place in each season. There are two different types of Olympics, the Winter Olympics and the Summer Olympics. During the Summer Olympics events like tennis, hockey, and golf are taken place. During the winter Olympics events like snowboarding, ice hockey, and figure
The four seasons specify the time of year. Seasons generally prepare you for the weather conditions for the specific months. However, the four seasons, in literature, can represent the mood and age throughout the text. For example, in the story, The Crucible the author used the season, fall, leading the reader to the interpretation that the storyline will have a gloomy and an eerie atmosphere. Therefore, when the author adds the type of weather or describes the climate in his or her story, they are trying to illustrate the mood.
There is a great difference between driving in the winter as opposed to driving in the summer. Although the two driving conditions have their own advantages and disadvantages, I would argue that driving in the summer time is better.
The USA and Finland both have the four seasons. Even though that Finland's weather conditions are less severe than the UAS. Of course, Finland does have, “Ruska,” an array of red and gold in the fall time, and a time in June and July when the sun never sets from the North of the Arctic Circle. However, the USA and Finland both also have about the same weather in the same seasons. Also, the length of the seasons is very similar as well. Some of the example of this are, fall September to November, spring April to May, and summer June to August. Also of course winter is roughly December to March. There are a few differences for Finland compared to the USA. These small differences are how snowfall starts October to mid-March during Lapland for Finland. A few differences for the USA compared to Finland is that the USA does have to worry about active volcanoes, tornadoes, and hurricanes. Fortunately though, Finland does not have to worry about these natural disasters. Another difference for the USA is that they measure in fahrenheit, but Finland measures in celsius. However, a comparison is that both the USA and Finland use weather reports from weather services to know their weather daily and accurately. Accuweather is one of Finland’s and the USA’s weather source they both use. There are of course still numerous more relations with Finland and the USA when the topic is
During summer from clothing to accessories are different from winter. During summer, people wear shorts and t-shirts and in accessories shades and cap, on the contrary in winter thermal wears with jeans and jacket or winter coat and in accessories like a scarf, ear protectors and hand gloves. Moreover, in summers maintaining a garden, and cleaning leafs etc, but in winter everything is hidden in snow so no one worries about the garden. Eating a different type of food is also different in both the season in Michigan because eating light and healthy food is advisable in summer, while in winter heavy and warm food with more nutrition is advisable. In summer driving is a lot easier because the absence of snow on the road, although in winter and driving with snow is difficult and many accidents also do occur due to snow because controlling a vehicle on road with snow is very difficult.
The two short stories that we read in this unit, “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury ,and “Examination Day” by Henry Slesar, both have meanings of their societies. In “All Summer In A Day” the main character, Margot lives on Venus and gets bullied by the other kids on Venus because she has seen the sun back on Earth while they only saw it when they were babies. On the only day where the sun goes out Margot gets shoved into a closet while the kids that bullied her get to go enjoy the sun for the first time in 7 years. In “Examination Day” the main character, Dickie, gets killed because his intelligence quotient is above the amount the Government wants it to be. Both of their societies are highly sophisticated but, they are very different
In the short film All Summer In a Day, there is a classroom full of children on a planet very similar to Earth. This story is taking place in the future and on a very dismal planet. The sun only shines once a year and only for a couple hours. On this planet it rains all day, every day. All of the children flock together to see the sun when it shines but one kid in particular is very loving of the memory of the sun. All of the children are too young to remember the sunlight except for the one, Margot. Margot was born on Earth and is older than the other children so she remembers the sunlight very faintly. William is jealous that Margot can remember the sun being out and he cannot. Therefore william picks on Margot by bringing her hope down and
Because the experiment is only take place in 1 hour the season will not affect the results. If I had a whole year to carry this experiment out I would do the experiment throughout different seasons to see what affect the seasons has on the results.
The four seasons specify the time of year. The seasons generally prepare one for the weather conditions, for the specific months. However, the four seasons, in American Literature, can represent the mood and setting throughout the text. Many authors use this type of metaphor in their texts; for example, The Crucible, Into the Wild, “The Devil and Tom Walker”, and “The Raven” all use one of the four seasons to influence their stories. Therefore, when the author adds the type of weather or describes the month in his or her story, he or she is trying to illustrate the mood.
Fluctuating temperatures, with an average winter temperature of -34˚C and average summer temperatures of between 3-12˚C (Ucmp.berkeley.edu, 2004).
When I compare the weather, they are different the summer and winter but sometime the weather in indiana similar safwa in summer.
The seasons and thus the relative temperature in Ohio are controlled due to the angle and tilt of the Earth's axis. During the summer months the Earth is tilted toward the sun and is hit by solar rays at a steeper angle than in the winter months thus allowing for the light not to spread out as much and the surface of the Earth to heat up faster. This occurs in the Northern Hemisphere however it is not like this worldwide at the same times. During the winter season this condition of tilt toward the sun is present for areas below the equator and in the Northern Hemisphere the Earth is now tilted away from the sun. This results in a shallow angle to the sun and the solar rays are spread out minimizing the concentration of the light and not warming
In the United states we have 4 seasons throughout the year. We have spring, summer, fall, and winter. We are quite lucky to experience that. Some countries only have 2 which are summer and winter which is like our summer and fall.
In the Short story All Summer In A Day and the poem If Only We Had Taller Been both shows us the important lesson if reach for the stars, you might fall, but those slopes will shape who you are as an individual, and if you succeed you will achieve more than you think you can. Both short stories talk about goals they are trying to achieve. They both seem like they can't accomplish their goal. Some get back up again and some don't. They both shaped people into who they are now.
The Southern Hemisphere is warmer in December, January, and February because it receives more solar energy than does the Northern Hemisphere. During, June, July, and August the opposite is true; the Northern Hemisphere receives more solar energy and is warmer. This is due to the spherical shape of the planet, due to which sun is nearly overhead at equator than at high latitude therefore warmest. Thus, temperature varies with latitude from the warm Equator to the cold poles.
After examining both movie and short story I have come to realize that the short story was a better representation of “All Summer in a Day.” I have decided that the short story was more descriptive as well as intriguing. The jungles that covered Venus seemed so pleasurable. In the short story when the sun came out you could imagine playing with your friends in an enchanted jungle. In the movie the director didn’t capture the moment when the kids were playing in a jungle. The director had more of a forest location than a jungle. Also I didn’t take joy in the movie, because it didn’t have the amazing underground city, nor the mechanization or technology to appreciate the movie. Last but not least the ending in the movie was irrevocable.
