Online classes have boomed lately, but are they really worth all the work, or should we stick to traditional classrooms? More and more people, especially these days have been enrolling in online classes, due to the new technology being released. Online classes have been at lower quality because of 3 reasons: how easy it is to cheat on them, the amount of money being put into them is outrageous, and how small amount of control the professors have. Others might say, “I like online classes because the class schedule is very flexible and I can work it into my schedule.” While that is true, online classes fail to give you is face-to-face communication.” In Source B, the text states that, “Online classes offer flexibility for sure. But if students never step foot on campus, often times they will feel less invested in their education.” If students feel less invested, they will tend to lose their sense of perseverance, or their will to accomplish something. If they actually went into classrooms, and set foot on the campus, they might get more invested in the school spirit, and find other ways to make college more than just a learning experience.

Millions and millions of dollars are being spent, for kids to cheat and just pass the class? In Source C, it says, “...MIT and Harvard have both committed $30 million to the project [edX].” MIT and Harvard have together put forth $60 million dollars for edX. EdX is a program that is working toward students being able to have free online classes. Also in Source C, it states that, “In June the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced a $1.5 million grant to support the project [edX] as well.” While MIT and Harvard have put $60 million, this one foundation has put $1.5 million into free classes. That’s $61.5 million dollars, just from 3 organizations. Doesn’t sound like these classes are free to
