My job in the project is to identify the objectives and come up with the timeline of the training session since I am very organized and time-orientated. Each member in our group is a “Feeler”, so we are all very easy to interact with because each of us is sensitive to other’s feeling; we are very flexible because we are good listeners and quickly to adapt to other’s ideas. Because the consistency of our personal styles, we are highly united and committed to the project. Therefore, we discussed everything together and separated our responsibilities so that we could be more effective. Wincy in our group is in charge of identifying problems in the plan and helping organize the weekly meeting, and coming up with ice breakers. She did very well
In order to evaluate my role within the group it is important to identify what makes a group. A group must
I am writing with regard to Research Assistant, Technical Staff or Technician (Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine) advertised on website. Please find attached my Curriculum Vita, which shows I have the necessary qualifications and experience in the workplace.
I found that working collaboratively on this assessment was incredibly valuable. This assessment allowed us to engage in co-planning and co-instructing, both critical parts of the co-teaching practice (Conderman, 2011). During the presentation of our activity, I felt more confident because I knew that if I forgot anything, another member of my group would be able to assist me, and vice versa. Much of our planning was done through collaborative discussions as we all felt we could share our ideas openly. Through these discussions, we built up a more trusting relationship, crucial to co-teaching effectively (Conderman, 2011). I believe being given the opportunity to share our different ideas and get feedback on these ideas from other group members was incredibly valuable.
The purpose of this memo is to evaluate my progress and also my group as a whole. It is important that our progress as a whole has made a difference since the first progress report. Since the first progress report, there has been a lot of improvement as a whole.
This topic of the course has helped me to differentiate between what is a policy and what a procedure is and increased my knowledge of the huge amount of different types of policies and procedures that a school must have in place in order to operate effectively. Setting policies is one of the primary means that governing bodies can use in order to perform their duty for setting the direction they want the school to take. Governing bodies are required by law to set certain policies whilst there are others that are just recommended as good practice for all settings. Policies and procedures provide a structure and direction for school life in each and every institution.
The purpose of this paper is to reflect how the Senior Leader Course has influenced my leadership philosophy both professionally and personally. SLC has positively developed me both professionally and personally as a Leader. The interactions with other NCOs (Non-Commissioned Officers), lessons, briefings, has illustrated several different leadership styles and provided me insight to new ideas and concepts. I have gained significant knowledge and experience at SLC that will affect my future performance as a leader both professionally and personally.
I think my writing has improved a lot Since working on journals. Since learning from my english instructor I have learned and remembered many knew things. First as an old writer, i did not think much about writing skills that you need in papers period. For example Like commas i would hardly ever use them because i did not understand what the punctuation was really used for, not only did i not use commas but i never capitalize the letter i when referring to my self In writings. Journal writing really has help me in understanding my mistakes and helping me grow in my writing skills. For the most part i have learned how to think of good topics thats works with me, and how I can come up with lots of ideas quickly. Second writing journals has
It was great to have the opportunity to play the role of a supervisor, because even though we both are in different tracks (School and Mental health), I was able to provide support to my supervisee by listening to what my supervisee had to say and I was also able to encourage her by providing different types of ideas that best fulfill her needs. In contrast of the supervisor role, playing the role of a supervisee was more relaxing because it was basically me describing different types of issues that I have at my site. But overall this was a great activity.
I attended the University of Pittsburgh Student Government Board (SGB) meeting on November 10, 2015, to see first-hand how task oriented groups function. There was a presentation after the SGB meeting about the University Strategic Plan, soliciting suggestions for the implementation phase of the plan.
Before starting this course, I believed I had a good grasp on the rules of the English language, grammar and how to write in a formal manner. However, after submitting a sample piece of my writing to a number of websites that check for grammatical errors and receiving feedback and analysis from these websites, I have realised that there are a number of areas that require work in order for me to write in a formal manner. Whilst most of the reports gave good feedback, Writers Diet (www.writersdiet.com.WT/php) stated the use of nominalisation, while Polish My Writing (www.polishmywriting.com) identified the over use of redundant words within my writing.
I actively participated in the assignment throughout the whole process. After plenty of research on literature reviews, I devoted to extract from the former two parts and then produced the suggestions for future research related to the audit reporting model. I joined every discussion and came up with possible solutions to the problems with the topic. I followed the schedule to present my part punctually so that other group member could continue to revise the research. During the assignment period, I sometimes insisted in my own opinion, which is not appropriate for group work. Fortunately, I was persuaded through communication and change my incorrect views.
For my winter 2017 co-op term, I worked at KPMG LLP, Canada as a staff accounting in the Financial Institution and Real Estate audit group. Similar to my midterm reflection, I worked in teams of 4-6 people, with various level of expertise including staff accountants, seniors, managers and partners. Over the last half of the work term, I worked on 3 different real estate clients (two public and one private company) working on various audit work such as debt and revenue sections.
“To embark on a journey towards your goals and dreams require bravery. To remain on that path requires courage. The bridge that merges the two requires commitment.” This is a direct quote from Dr. Steve Maraboli. As a ponder on this quote, I begin to reflect on my own journey towards a master’s degree in Educational Counseling. My journey towards graduate school began in 2011. Around that time, I have been in my position as a Graduate Program Assistant for about a year. As a Graduate Program Assistant, my responsibilities consisted of assisting prospective graduate students with the admissions applications, and advising current graduate students with the degree program requirements. Although I was very knowledgeable and excelled at my job, it occurred to me that I was promoting graduate education, yet I myself did not have a master’s degree. A graduate education can only
My feelings about the group process was a little mix at first but, at the end I felt like we actually brought it together. Beginning of the group member were all over the place and had no direction, when we were able to take a breather in just think ideas started to flow. I felt like that took the communicator to make it happen. By reinsuring the other group members that everything will go smoothly if we just don’t overthink everything.
According to IAC (no date) that “reflection is a process of exploring and examining ourselves, our perspectives, attributes, experiences and actions”. It helps us gain insight and see how to move forward. States on Moon (2016) “we reflect in order to learn something, or we learn as a result of reflecting”.
