Rap Music Analysis

The song “u” by kendrick uses literary tools like Soliloquy and Conflict to show how built up guilt leads to his prolonged depression.

The Black Power Mixtape follows momentous events between 1965 and 1975. It is directed by two Swedish directors, and their nationality is very important for the layout of the film. The film takes place during the Civil Rights Movement, and included leaders such as Stokely Carmichael, Angela Davis, Malcolm X, and Medgar Evers. This was also during the time of the Vietnam War, whom Sweden saw a useless war. The heads of this country were the Nixon Administration, and Lyndon Johnson’s administration.

The music I listen to is rap mostly tupac. I started listening to him in 2015 I have a while and I never get bored of him. Another rapper I listen to is YG. I also never get bored of his songs. I listen to them everyday even when I am working. If I am home I put pandora on the tv and just put full volume and I just sit back and relax. Music makes me want to do things and relax. It doesn´t take my mind off of anything I still listen to the teachers. I understand what they say and respect them. Music has been around for a very long time and rap it has changed a lot. Music is filled with emotion throughout the genres. Country, rap, pop, jazz, classical, indie, alternative, and rock are all individual types of music. Different artists display diverse emotions through their music. Country and rap are two totally opposite types of music. Country is mellow and romantic, while rap is fast paced and sometimes very inappropriate. As a child, many want to listen to upbeat, cheerful music. As a teen or young adult, we listen to multiple genres, exploring our interests. The difference between my music that I listened to in in my younger years compared to now is not distinctive.

There are many types of music, known as geners, that people prefer to listen. Many people may like country while the other person like Jazz. Me on the other hand, like several types of music genres. The music i find most appealing is the soul in R&B, the notes and keys artsist hit in gospel, the beat and rhythm in instrumentals, and the flow and lyrics in rap music.

The New Edition was one of the premier R&B groups to exist. The group reached its height of popularity during the 1980s. They were the progenitors of the boy band movement of the 1980s and 1990s and led the way for groups like New Kids on the Block, The Boys, Boyz II Men, Hi-Five, Backstreet Boys and NSYNC. Their music was intrinsic and exemplified what R&B was during that time period. Their song’s, like “Hear Me Out” and even “Candy Girl”, were R&B songs that represented all I’ve spoken to. Their music, while having a funky feel to it, represented soulful music, which spoke to the theme of love and even represented the harmonizing of a boy band, just like that in jazz. As a small child, I never understood why people had a fascination with music. I always thought, “What’s so good about it? I can make noises too.” At the time music never interested me. However, a few years later music quickly becomes a big part of me life.

I like all types of music, almost every stle of it. Rap is my favorite genre though. I listen to music with almost everything that I do. Rather it’s riding in the car, cleaning up the house, or even eating I listen to music. I believe that it really helps me focus.

Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines music as “the science or art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination, and in temporal relationships to produce a composition having unity and continuity” . Webster’s also defines music as “an agreeable sound”. These two definitions are extremely diverse from each other, one being exceptionally more complex than the other but still both are accurate. The more simple one is easier to comprehend for individuals who are not as musically inclined as others. On the other hand, the more challenging definition requires additional background information in order to fully understand the concept.

Music is an art that existed for over many years. Music has been defined numerously and given unique names such as the food of the soul, heart, and mind. It has been a source of entertainment for many all over the world in the past and present generations and even future generations to come. Many genres of music have been established over the years such as pop, rock, hip-hop, soul, and jazz among others. Music carries a very powerful message towards the listeners. Some songs are emotionally oriented and others target a specific people. Music is always created for specific target persons in relation to their past or current situations.

Music, noun. The vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. Music something that some people can hear in the wind, or see when someone talks. It’s what you feel between two people as if they knew they would have a special connection between them forever. As cheesy as that may sound to most people, I believe it’s true. Music for me is a connection, a feeling between the person I love and myself. Maybe that is what ultimately draws me towards them. I can feel the music between my boyfriend and me because of rollercoaster of a relationship.
