African Americans are the most judged group of individuals in the U.S. and around the world. Many American and non-American citizens see African American males as threating and thugs, while others view African American females as angry and ghetto. These stereotypes have led to Blacks being least likely to date outside of their race compared to other races. In this study we will discussing the reasons why White Americans would either object or not object to a member of their family bringing home an African American for dinner, we will also look at how education, gender, and region affect these decisions. In this study we will go into detail about why these attributes can cause different responses with White American. This research is important because there has been little to no research done on how whites really feel about family members dating outside their race and to test why White Americans would either except or object this notion. While White and Black Americans have come a long way in our hatred for each other we still have so far to go. Americans (White, Black, Hispanic, and other) are all entitled to our own opinions but these opinions should not be based off of racism.

To the African American male, a lighter skinned female may be able to bear better-looking children with white features. They are also seen as easier to get along with. The continued success of the light skinned African Americans has created a prejudice against lighter skinned individuals in the culture. Dark skinned males and females are raged because of the fact that they get hired for good jobs. Dark skinned females are mad at lighter skinned females because they are not approached as much as they are. This is a real issue because it is causing bitterness towards one another I the African American culture. The simple fact is that no matter whether one is light skinned or dark skinned, they are still African American. However, because of the features in which a light skinned individual processes, helps them get more ahead, therefore, light skinned African Americans have easier lives than dark skinned African Americans.

For example it affect them in the way that white people discriminate them, and see a black male as a bad person.

Before I start researching for this topic, I noticed that most of the interracial romantic relationships among Asian on campus involved Asian women. Is that mean Asian women tend to attract and fall in love with the different race as themselves? What cause the imbalance interracial dating or marriage between Asian men and women? Would Asian men or women feel more superior when they have interracial relationships? I believe this situation can be explained in three aspects: experience of racial discrimination, family expectations and socially expectation. These are the factors that lead to the imbalance in men and women in interracial romantic relationships.

When I asked a white male would you “marry a black female”? Almost all the white men said “no”!. More then 50% stated their family wouldn’t agree. However, as prominent as these cases are, to generalize the relations of an Asian woman and a Caucasian man based on the actions of clusters of individuals would be counterproductive towards the path towards racial equality. Society is stuck in the past. Apparently, dating someone outside of one’s own race is frowned upon because some still employ the “stick to what is familiar” attitude.
