Subject: Proposal for the legal file-sharing access for students
Purpose
The purpose of this proposal is to request Kathleen M. Knutzen, Vice President of Academic Affairs to give the approval for a comprehensive study regarding the file-sharing accessibility from the library’s database in order to establish whether considering a reduction in the library’s journal budget to subsidize legal file-sharing access is a feasible option or not.
Summary
CSUB has been purchasing journals for a very long time. However, it does not provide legal-sharing access for its students. The purpose

The legal file-sharing access for students will be of a great benefit to both the students and the institution at large. It simply means accessibility of first-hand information from credible resources by each and every student at the institution. The proposal will focus on the possibility of subsidizing the legal file-sharing access at the cost of the library’s journal budget reduction.
The proposal will include a three-day research, which will be conducted by myself. It will engage students, teachers, and the dean of the library as study samples to gather relevant information concerning the viability of the proposed subsidization and what it will mean to diverse stakeholders in the institution.
The following are four questions of the further research:
1. How do the students view the approach? Do they consider it academically strategic? Or do they prefer it just the way it is?
2. How will the legal file-sharing access for students benefit students and teachers at large?
3. Will the protocol of setting up the legal file-sharing require a lot of investment? If yes, what is the cost of operating and maintaining the database?
4. How long will it take to set up the legal file-sharing point?
Proposed Tasks
With your approval, I will address the following six tasks in order of succession to establish whether considering a reduction in the library’s journal budget to subsidize the

While I was reading the overview for chapter 9, the words “academic journals” struck out at me because I have been familiar with academic journals since I was a senior in high school.
Davis gives the reader an overview of what is to be expected in the article including library statistics for the year from public and school libraries and methods currently being used in libraries. The author does not want to limit the research to only one type of library by separating the libraries by academic and public will show the differences in what effect eBooks have had on
Students aren’t limited to a local physical library. With technology, students have several sources of information in various formats such as books, articles, newspapers, videos, and much more.
Founded in 1899, Northern Arizona University’s (NAU) first library opened with a dictionary and encyclopedia in its collection. Located in the central part of the NAU Flagstaff campus, it provides both physical and virtual environments that foster intellectual discovery, collaborative research, and access to technology (Library overview, 2016). As with most academic libraries, the research collections are critical to supporting the curricular and research mission of the university. As of April 2016, members of the NAU community and public have access to more than 670,000 print and e-books, 81,000 e-journals, 161,000 online audio and video recordings (J. Swann, personal communication, April 19, 2016). Successful learning requires inclusive and widespread support along with relevant resources from the library. Thus, the library offers spaces including group and individual study rooms; multi-media production studios, classrooms, and a makerspace. The library’s mission statement confirms the organization is committed to:
In order to preserve the university’s mission to “create, preserve, and disseminate knowledge” (UMUC, 2002) the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) has created Policy 190.00 – Intellectual Property. This policy addresses intellectual policy considerations for faculty, students, and the university itself, while making sure that society benefits from the dissemination of the works involved.
This allows students the ability to identify with themselves and be introduced to new methods, in order to create a safe and positive learning environment.
As new technologies are rapidly introduced, people are able to find any information with the access of internet. This leads to people questioning the relevance of libraries and its true purpose. Public libraries cultivate the value of increased education and a social unity to advancing as a society.
In seeking, identifying, reading, analyzing, and synthesizing the various academic resources and journal articles Argosy University online library databases was the most for research. ProQuest Digital Thesis and Dissertation database identified topics that reflected the research topic. Key words worked well in navigating through large amount of data and the ProQuest Boolean connector narrowed the research data, so selected topics and articles were
Isolated and other journal or magazines, Scholarly journals' scholars are educators, graduate understudies, or powers who have had a not too dreadful measure of direct relationship in making academic journals. While the subject may have all the earmarks of being stupefied, they use their vocabulary and their industry understanding how to sufficiently differentiate and unmistakable get-togethers of spectators. Their inclination makes insightful journals a remarkable resource for understudies and diverse experts
Additionally, Taylor shows that he is a credible source for the discussion of open access publishing through being knowledgeable about the topic by using statistics and doing his own research to strengthen his argument. Taylor begins his article by explaining that the money that comes from the taxations of the taxpayers goes to the government to be reallocated into the government-funded research. Then, the researchers release their information by publishing it in academic journals, using the government’s money. Next, by defining open
Funds to implement this plan for upgrading Library technology are available in the Public Library Improvement Fund. The Public Improvement Fund was established jointly by the Hackley Public Library and Muskegon Public Schools for the purpose of paying for Library improvements and major repairs. There are ample funds in the Public Improvement Funds to pay for this technology improvement without dipping dangerously low. (There was over $250,000 in the fund in
The results and findings were clearly explained and examined all aspects of the study. Langer (2002) gives a clear table indicating the demographic variables of ten students who took part in the study. The nine interview questions offered a review of how the students responded toward the use of journals in the course. Some common themes emerged from the journal readings and interview question responses. The implications of the results and findings were
Need Thesis: The worth of public libraries in America extends far beyond the books they offer. Despite the value of these resources to struggling communities, libraries have seen a decline in both public usage and federal funding in recent years.
For students to be adequately informed about the value of the university library and resources such as the Internet in information retrieval there must be a careful collaboration between teaching staff and library staff (Kenney, 2007). The focus in this task, of course, is preparing students not just for the immediate research project at hand but rather to prepare them to be life long learners, to prepare them to be successful and productive once they leave the academic environment and take up their chosen careers (Lauer & Yodanis, 2012).
