“ No my dear,” she said. “ Only you.” I guess that I should be heading to my room now, I have work early tomorrow.” Billy said a little startled. “ Would you like another cup of tea?” she said ignoring that Billy wanted to leave. “ No thankyou, I am going to go to sleep now.” Billy said even more uneasy. Billy went upstairs just a little bit faster than a walk. He found the room that she showed him when he first got there. He recognized the room, and walked in. He then noticed a white sheet of paper peeking out from under the bed. He then walked closer and picked up the sheet of paper. He read the paper out loud. “ Get out, Get out, Get out, leave this place, leave , leave , while you are still alive.” Billy said quietly.

Billy was so tired he fell asleep almost immediately after he laid down.
Billy woke up all of a sudden scared of what he had dreamed. “ That was the weirdest dream that I have ever had.” Billy said. “ What was the dream about?” said the landlady standing in the doorway with a knife. “Oh, nothing I didn’t see you there.” said Billy startled. “ Why do you have that knife?” Billy asked quietly. “ What knife? Oh, this knife, well I was putting jelly on toast for your breakfast and I wanted to check on you so I guess that I forgot to put it down.” she said laughing at herself. “ What time is it?” Billy asked yawning. “ It’s 5:00 a.m Mr. Davis.” she said. “ It’s Mr. Weaver.” Billy said annoyed. “ Oh, yes I am very sorry Mr. Weaver. I will go make breakfast now and I might see you down stairs.” She said walking away. “ Okay, I will change.” he said quietly with a quivering voice. After Billy got on his clothes for work he went downstairs carrying his briefcase in one hand and a laptop in the other hand. He set both down and sat on the red chair. There was already toast set up with peanut butter on it on the table with more tea. Billy ate the toast and never noticed the landlady take his laptop.
Billy finished the toast and the tea, even though it tasted weird, and went to find the landlady. He called for her and before he finished saying her name she appeared in the doorway. “ Thank you for feeding me, giving me a bed, and being nice to me. I will pay you
Persuasive speech outline purpose: To persuade my audience to donate blood through the American Red Cross. Introduction:
Mrs. Fester knew she couldn’t cheer up her kids. Once they were finished with supper Mrs. Fester told her kids she would read them one story and then they had to go to bed. Victor, Elizabeth, and Matilda put on their bedtime close and assembled by the fireplace. Mrs. Fester sat down in her chair by the fireplace. She told her kids to pick out a story that they want her to read. Victor and Matilda wanted “Monster Town,” but Elizabeth wanted “Dogs vs. Cats” Mrs. Fester chose “Monster Town” since two of her kids wanted it. Once Mrs. Fester finished the story it was about 8 o'clock. That meant it was time for bed. Victor, Elizabeth, and Matilda when into their one bedroom and feigned they were sleeping. Once their mother kissed them goodnight she went to her bedroom, got into bed, and fell asleep. Victor and Elizabeth quietly went downstairs, while Matilda watched for their mother. Victor ran over to the cookie jar and got three cookies while Elizabeth got three small glasses of milk. “Victor what is that noise?” asked Elizabeth. “It sounded like someone was knocking on the door,” said Victor. “ Who would be knocking on the door at this night of the hour?” said Elizabeth. “I don’t know,” said Victor. “Can you go over there and see who is at the door?” asked
She looked up at him out of the corners of her eyes and gave him another gentle smile, “No my dear,” she said, “Only you.” Billy had a horrid expression, he slowly started to pull away the cup of tea from his lips , his heart pounded and his breathing quickened he knew what was next and he wouldn’t like it. With himself still in shock Billy had no idea what to do but he knew today wasn’t the day, no way sir. He had quickly estimated in his head how much time he would have of distracting the old lady and getting through the door and running away as far as possible. Around 30 seconds he had, to reach the door and try to distract her, the old lady continued to stare at him, he quickly shook off his expression ad try to
Billy didn't know what was going to happen next, but the landlady did. She planned to drop him through the floor into her secret laboratory where she would eventually stuff him. Her plan worked perfectly. Billy plunged into a foam pit where he was latched to a chair, and wheeled straight to the landlady's laboratory. He struggled, and tried to get out of the chair, but couldn't. The landlady told him what was going to happen to him, so he must say what he wanted to before he couldn't say anything anymore.
“Of course she did and you can see it written all over her face, which is exactly why she should be punished!” Now Billy was really mad. His face was red, his hands went every which way, and as time passed, his fury only increased. He stood up and began to shake. He was trying not to cry, that much was obvious even for a seven-year-old like me.
I hadn 't been a sleep for long before I heard a knock on my door, getting up and throwing my robe on. Standing at my door was Grip. "Hey, you okay? You looked kind of depressed when you first came in, I was busy or I would have checked on you then." I looked down, "yeah, I 'm fine. Nothing to worry about. Look, I 'm really tired, talk to you later?" He grunted "yeah whatever. Don 't worry, I won 't bother
Billy kept scrolling through the news and kept finding stories of unfortunate people that have been hurt, or killed, by tragic incidents that Billy had gone through. He began to feel more and luckier after each article he read.
I noticed this years ago when I was little, I noticed kids at school treating the dark girl in the corner differently and talking about her behind her back. I noticed my parents holding my hand a little tighter when a black man would walk by. The protestors are marching down the street in support of their loved one, not for attention of skin color. There are three types of people involved in the act, the peaceful, the violent, and the judgmental. I support the protesting. I support the friends and family members for trying to make a difference for the loved one they lost. I encourage them to speak out in a peaceful way. I encourage them, because that’s what I would do.
Twelve years later, we're finally done. We have all spent the last four to eight years thinking we needed to make the decision to work, or have fun. There is no possible way we can do both, right? Now that we're going into college the choice just gets more severe, work, or have fun? Well, it is far from impossible to do both, and I think my friends and I are living proof of that. We have found many ways to work hard and get to where we need to be, but we find ways to have fun doing it along the way. Now obviously a scholastic setting isn't ideal for entertainment, but that can not stop you from making some good memories. Now, as Ellen Degeneres said in her 2009 commencement speech for Tulane University, “thank you to all the graduating class . . . I realize most of you are hungover and have splitting headaches and haven’t slept since Fat Tuesday, but you can’t graduate ’til I finish, so listen up.” (Degeneres)
For generations, the world has struggled tremendously with pollution which makes society wonder if they will be able to recover from the everlasting effects of contamination. “The Obligation to Endure” by Rachel Carson illustrates an informative stance on the topic of pollution in order to expose humans for being the main source of polluting the Earth. Carson talks about the many accidents from pesticide that cause pollution and how they are irreversible. In contrast, a Natural Defense Resources Council article by John Walke named “Trump EPA’s Scientific Fraud on Deadly Air Pollution” explains how President Donald Trump has reported to revoke the Clean Power Plan which was first introduced during Barack Obama’s presidency in 2015. This biased article shows how beneficial the Clean Power Plan is for the nation and how wrongful Trump is for thinking this is the right choice. Wilke uses logos, pathos, and an urgent tone to point out the reasons why the Clean Power Plan is important to the United States. Likewise, Carson also uses logos and pathos in her article, but she uses a reflective tone to draw attention to the major reason for pollution: humans.
I flipped the lights out behind me and headed for the door as I checked my purse for the keys. Shutting the door behind me I turned back around to lock the door and there it was again. That odd feeling like I wasnt alone. I started walking to my car staring at the street light above it thanking god that if anything did happen I would have a better chance of seeing what was going on compared to if it was all happening in the dark. I unlocked my car and got in making sure to lock the doors behind me. Pulling away from the curb I hear a slight humming, not sure if it’s the radio or something outside I turn the radio off trying to eliminate the possibility. Sure enough I was convinced I solved my curiosity.
“There is always room for Improvement.”, “good things come to those willing to work for it.”. When I was little I used to play softball. I started to play for fun, something to do on my down time since living on a dead end dirt road with four houses vacated by old people with no younger kids to play with got pretty boring. This was my way to simply meet new kids and have fun outside but it ended up turning in to so much more. I played season after season getting progressively better and better. I would spend hours outside with my dad after games and after practices and on off days just throwing the ball back and forth and practicing my batting stance on my little tee in my yard. We would throw until we couldn’t see the ball anymore because the sun had gone down and the sky turned dark. Even then, my dad would have to argue with me to come inside because I just wanted to keep practicing. I had a team to be better for, I wanted to be the best one out there and I wanted to feel the thrill of winning. I wanted to make my friends proud, my coaches proud, my parents proud and most importantly myself proud. There was no better feeling then seeing your hard work put in to action. The best way I can describe winning, is just an overwhelming feeling on pride, there is a certain fullness you feel, and once you feel it you never want to let it go. every time I did good I wanted to push myself harder so I could feel the thrill again, and every time I didn’t perform up to
Relieved that this odious man had hung up, she slammed the receiver down, and waited a moment to regain her composure after which she would call the said actors into her office. While her assistant prepared the video camera, Kathy poured herself a glassful of Scotch to help settle her nerves after which she gulped it down, and leisurely walked to the door. For a moment, she realized how this town had slowly destroyed her moral fortitude, and it was this diminishment in moral strength that she was afraid that Xanadu would drain these two performers of what was dear to them – their freshness. Moreover, Kathy was ashamed to the lengths she had participated in order to fuel the appetites of men like Carlton. She tricked herself into believing that she was facilitating in the creation of their budding theatrical careers, and if anything were to become of it – namely, fame and fortune – then this would be adequate compensation for any indignities they may suffer. Yet there were other reasons why she reluctantly obeyed the Tinsel town tyrant, which for the time being, I shan’t go into for fear she would discover what I’ve told you – except to say, the wasteland, hundred or so miles east of Xanadu, is populated with the bones of those who were foolish enough to challenge their power. At any rate, she could not tell him what she thought of him, which was “you are an arrogant asshole” because she had grown accustomed to the shitload of cash she got for sending aspiring actors to
they started to chat about their life when they were toddlers and how Timothy and Jim to used play ball with Della and Stella. Upon finishing their meal, the two guests set off to to walk home before getting asked to stay for a bit longer.“Thank you for the meal Della, but if you’ll excuse me, night is approaching and I must walk home”, explained Stella.“Well let’s not be hasty now, we cannot allow a beautiful lady like yourself to be walking the streets at dark, how about you stay over and go during the morning, you too Timothy” replied Jim.“We would most humbly obliged, if the Mrs wouldn’t mind that is” answered Timothy for himself and Stella.Jim turned to get approval from Della, but she just looked at him with hesitation, and forwhat seemed like an eternity finally nodded in approval. Timothy and Stella were given a guest room to lodge in for the night while Jim and Della slept in their bedroom. Later that night, Della couldn’t seem to get any rest
