What I did This Summer Have you ever wanted to go to the mountains for the summer? Have you ever told yourself, I need a vacation!? Well, I’m about to take you on a vacation. It will be so much fun and better than a real vacation you’ll forget that you are only reading this. Oh, and you might want to get a snack first because once you start reading you won’t be able to stop. This is gonna be one heck of an adventure. So it was the ordinary start of summer to where I didn’t know what to do and then my mom randomly comes running in the rome saying,”We’re going on vacation!” My mouth dropped, I hadn’t even had relaxation yet and she is already telling me that we are going on vacation, great. “Where are we going?” “New Mexico!” That’s when
Most people are all grown up when they finally figure out what they want to do with their life. I was 4. I realized what I wanted to be when I attended my very first Rodeo. Even though it was so long ago I can remember that day like it was yesturday. That day got me on the path to my future.
One thing that does not interest me anymore is going outside. I used to always love going outside but not anymore that is like the top uninterested thing i'm into rite now. When i was a kid i loved going outside, after i got older i only go outside on the daily-bases now that i'm more mature. When i get in trouble my parents make me go outside for my punishment. Outside is just not interested to me
“I sat down next to my brother, Dan, on the couch and got on my laptop. He started to look at my laptop and asked what I was doing with a smirk on his face. It was obvious that he knew what I was doing so I ignored him. My homework was to type a 5 paragraph essay on what we did over the summer. As I began to write, my laptop started to glitch. It kept happening over and over as I continued to type.
My personal memoir is going to be about when I moved here in Homedale, Idaho. When I was 6 I moved to Homedale and I was going to start 2nd Grade. When I got dropped off by my parents I went to the playground. When I was young I used to never speak to anyone because I was so shy and scared. When I got there a kid named Oscar came up to me and asked me what is your name, for a few seconds I stood there saying nothing and finally I said my name Osue. There were one of his friends that I remember, there was Antonio, but that wasn’t the first time I have seen Antonio because the house we moved into I went outside threw rocks and so did he but when I backed up and went forward etc. he copied me. I When we went I she Ms. Garrett was welcoming us
The three things I learned this summer was that I just have to read every once In a while and I understand stuff. Reading this summer has improved a lot in my opinion. I can follow along with the professional reader when he reads and I can follow along with my pen when Mcgee reads, so that has improved since the school year. Also that our teacher can talk about things and actually make you think a little bit. Just when he does the little kindergarten impressions, he makes a really good point. He makes you think in depth which I think is a good thing.
When I was first notified that I had to attend the Summer Transition Program, I was upset. I thought that it was a complete waste of my summer. Now, I don’t want to imagine what would have happen to me if I wasn’t part of the program. Deep down I was afraid of moving all the way to Virginia. I knew no one and was all alone. Thanks to the Transition Program, I made life long friendships and acquaintances, got acclimated to living in virginia and have some of the best experience of my life.
A summer of 1974.My friend Randy and I were playing hide and seek in the woods, then I heard a strange noise it sounded like a saw chopping something.Later that night we left to the cabin so I told Randy about the noise I heard he told me ‘’Let’s go explore the noise you heard.’’Ok’’I said. When we were walking we saw a light in the distance.
Something I will be reflecting on from my 8th grade year ,and how this will change myself for freshmen year. I did study a lot through the whole year of 8th grade, and i should have.I feel 8th grade could have gone better for me if i did things differently like preparing myself for hard tests, I never studied till the end of the year when i found out it really helped me out.
My spring project was at YMCA. At the YMCA, I was doing different physical activities with children and adults. The first activity that my team and I did was parachute. I have never play parachute and it was very new to me. When the event start, my team and I started to play with parachute by ourselves so we can get used to it and thinking different ways to use the parachute for the children to have fun. At first, there were not many children coming around, so my team and I advertised it by playing around with it and smiling which led children to be interested in the activity. The parachute activity went really well. Adults were able to participate with their children in the activity and they were having fun and enjoying themselves. Another
I am going to tell you a little bit of what I did this summer. School just got out and the real work begun, I started work on the first day of summer. I also played in a golf league in Gregory this summer with my dad.
Owing to various reasons, I learnt a lot over break. Whether it was through writing these journals, or just through being home for a significant amount of time for the first time since I left for college, I gained a lot of insight about myself that I didn’t have before. I think the biggest realization I made is that I am the only one that can actually spark a change in me. I think most of the things I’ve written about have been in my head but I never took the time to go through them. I knew what I was doing wrong but never thought about how I could fix it and this break allowed me to go the extra step and think about that.
What did you learn over the summer? Everybody has something that they enjoyed learning during summer school. Maybe what one person enjoyed learning another did not. It is ok for people to enjoy learning completely different things. There are many different things that were taught during the summer like lessons on life, how to write essays, how to take notes properly, and many more things. These are my favorite things I learned this summer and this is why.
Although I have not excelled academically throughout high school, I have excelled in athletics and having respect for others around me. Through playing sports and participating in different community service activities I have learned how to treat others with respect and how to work effectively and well with others. Throughout high school I have encountered many different types of people and coaches; there was a rarely a time that I did not connect and get along with the people I met. I hope to have positive effects on the different people that I meet throughout my life. I also try to be leader on and off the court. I want to set a positive example for the people around me. My basketball team had a rough season my junior year; showing respect
Due to my financial situation, I had no other choice but to stop attending UIC for the time being. During my Sophomore year, my financial aid was revoked at UIC due to SAP. Managing my time was also a big issue for me at the time; working 30+ hrs a week, having a huge workload from school and barely sleeping, it took a huge toll on my mental and physical state. Freshman year, I selected 5 classes totaling, 16 credit hours, and that was the toughest transition coming from high school to college. The transition was hard and I wasn’t able to adapt quickly, I found myself lost and very unsociable during my years of UIC. I did not make any classmates, friends until my sophomore year of college. All these factors made it tough for me to do exceptional
I remember a past experience that has influenced me to how I am today. I used to be afraid of heights until I went on an airplane. It had been my first time to ride an airplane and be in the air. When I first stepped on the plane I was very shaky about going. When the plane began to take off from the airport I was very nervous. We were up in the sky and I wanted to be back on the ground in a few minutes. It took a few hours. When we landed in Georgia we got off the plane and got our items.
