Earlier I mentioned a little about the layout of my dorm room. Now, here is the full version. When you come into the dorm, each set up on the right and left are basically the same. The closets are against the same wall as the door in separate corners. On top of my closet is a big black stereo, most of the time I have some type of R&B or Neo Soul coming from the speakers. My roommate has the TV and DVD player on top of her closet. Recently we watched the MTV Music Awards on it. Over the weekend eighteen (18) athletes from Indiana competed in the USATF Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The championships were held in the Albuquerque Convention Center with over 600 athletes ages 30-99 competing over the three days of competition. While the 5,000 foot elevation was kind to the sprinters and field event athletes; the distance athletes needed to make adjustments to their normal strategies to navigate the effects of the oxygen-depleted air.

As I woke up that faithful Monday morning, rain fell in torrents from the sky. It had been raining all weekend, and it would not stop no matter how hard I begged. My family and I had stayed in a hotel near to my new college for a few days before the move-in day. I felt apprehensive about the whole situation, and the rain did not help this feeling. As the upperclassmen loaded up my belongings onto carts, my parents and siblings followed me up to my new dorm. Then, as I opened the door for the first time, I flinched at seeing my new room. As an only child, I adore personal space. I grew up never sharing a bedroom or bathroom, never fought with anyone over the remote control nor shotgun in the car. When I received my roommate assignment, I will admit that I cringed. Stuck in a triple, I imagined a dark, cramped room with all three of us living on top of each other. When I arrived at school, the room did not match my nightmares and I thought all was well. The first two nights of school, I slept alone in the room, as one roommate stayed at a hotel with her parents and the other had a horse show out of town. My grandpa, Fred was an interesting man. I first met him when me and my family had moved into his home after helping him with his hoarding problem. He was a big man with white hair and a white beard. I quickly learned that he was very wise, who had done many things and knew many things. He would show me his favorite books as a kid, and fueled my love for reading. He showed me old fossils he had collected over the years and had created my interest for science. He would tell me stories of his past, of the many places he would travel to. I’ve always wanted to travel since then.

We have to be open as well as have a two sided conversation. This means that we don't just hear what each other have to say, but we have to listen, and take their opinions into account and follow the wishes of every room member. This goes both ways. It is ok to have friends over, and a social aspect of college is important, however we have to be accountable and hold our roommates accountable and make them follow the University guidelines, and expect them to follow the guidelines especially when they are in our room as its is also our living area and responsibility that they guidelines be followed

I was born February 17, 2016 at Joe DiMaggio’s children’s hospital. At least a part of me was. There in that emergency room, dehydrated and gaunt, my journey began. At the very beginning I found myself very ignorant of what was to come as I was confronted with the term “type 1 diabetes.” “Diabetes?” I thought. “How could someone like me who runs 8-10 miles a week with less than 12% body fat have a condition so synonymous with obesity and inactivity?” Questions reeled through my head as I walked blindly along my new path. Fast-forwarding to today, although my journey is just beginning I can say that this experience has helped me develop character traits such as adaptability, mental resilience, and open mindedness that have made me a better individual.

In the late winter of 1999, Jeff and Lori Desrosiers found out that they would be adding yet another girl to their family. They had already been blessed with three beautiful daughters and, to Jeff’s horror, he would still be the only man in the house. Later in the year, on October 3rd, Lori delivered that fourth daughter, and that fourth daughter was me. I was born into this crazy Desrosiers family and got to be apart of all of their lives.

Have you ever had a moment when you were like “Wow? This is definitely a small world!” These were my exact words two years ago moving into the Palmetto House dorms. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was the first in my group of close friends to go to college. They all helped move me in, including two of my sisters and my mother. In my mind all I could think of was since I was moving my stuff into the dorm room late in the afternoon, my roommate would for sure already be settled in with the television hooked up on her side of the room. Not that I am a big television watcher, it was just something I knew would forever bother me. Well to my surprise, the dorm room was empty and no one had claimed any of the four beds. To this end the bedroom is a perfect place. It should be a cozy, warm and tastefully lit place. Spring is a good time to move a bit of the furniture to update the look of your bedroom. Nowadays too many things in the bedroom are not good enough for modern people! Look at your bedroom with a critical eye. The bedroom could certainly lost everything that is related to work or school - no stacks of to-do work, thick dictionaries, phones, or other items that just happened to make their way into the bedroom. Throw out any excess bedroom furniture, such as a crib or a desk. Do not use your bedroom as a storage site, where you throw in all your dirty stuff quickly, before your mother comes to visit. Throw out all the children's toys, newspapers, bicycles, that old Christmas tree, the cat's sandbox, dogs sleeping basket and be ready to be a new person. After all you spend most of your life in this room, sleeping. How to renew your bedroom Curtains (assuming that your bedroom has a window). I thought the rule of “once bitten, twice shy,” applied to everyone. Well, right now it seems like it’s ALMOST everyone. All thanks to Sagar Poudel who turned the tables on my long-term imagination. His introverted nature, bookworm spirit, and outstanding affection for others, made me feel like I was in a deep and intimate conversation with myself. But the only thing that prevented me from freaking out, apart from his constant love for family, is the fact that he “never holds a grudge against anyone”. At least, that was what I was being told whilst I stared into his eyes in search of clues of fear or emotional imbalance. Surprisingly, I found none.

I also have my own space in my house, but as you see my picture, I don’t have a private room. I’m living with two Korean friends. One of my Korean friends uses bedroom and the other one share the living room with me. Even though I have my own boundary in the living room, I cannot keep my privacy in my space, because there are no any door, and the biggest problem that I cannot use the living room as my private place is to share my living room with my roommate. Therefore, I cannot decorate or put something without other roommate’s permission. Sharing the space is really good example to show my present identity. I have a different situation unlike other students who were born in the US. As I am a foreign student, I cannot afford to rent my own apartment, so I need to save my money from useless consumption. That’s why I share my living room with other people to save more money. Even though there are some uncomfortable things coming, I should endure those things. When you see my room, I don’t have any specific things such as movie posters, celebrity posters, or even one framed picture. All the things
