It had been along time since something new had entered my world. Amongst the ruins of our space elevator, I sat, head bowed, and payed my respects to a whole civilization lost. The rusted steel and crumbled mortar only amplified my grief. Rotating my mandibles I rose, and scuttled out into the hive proper, or what was left of it. There used to be noise, movement all accross our home, the workers furthering the goals of our Mother, the advisors contstatly planning our expansion into all of the fertile worlds of our system. Now, as I move through the entrance mound, there is only silence, and the sound of my chitin clicking harshly against the floor, echoing in a way I had once found eirie.
The vast halls and rooms of the complex held no suprises for me, the same rusted tables, livestock pens, and empty doorways

No one had been able to move her, not in the time we had left. With bones visible from where I had come before, the Mother lay atop her dome. With no others around, and the livestock long gone, I was the only thing left to return her matter to use, to give it purpose, even if its only purpose was to prolong my penance.
It had all happened so fast.
Why did it happen at all?
I shake my head, and reach forward, gripping on of the many birthing appendages, and tear a chunk of Her off with my finger, their hard exoskeleton making easy the grusome work.
My limbs shook, but the process was necissary. Someone must remeber. I took the flesh and ground it into small chunks, before injesting Her remains.
A sound echoed around the chamber, many short exhales of air, something that never happened Before. It was okay. Someone must remember. The ritual of sustenance complete, I turned and began the treck back towards our crowing achievement, a meant to be a mere footnote in the history of the Hive.
Rain began to fall as I knelt in the shattered remains of a planets hopes and dreams.
Someone must
People often hear or maybe seen on the news of houses being broken into. We do our best to protect ourselves and our families from the unenviable happening. We have locks, we purchase alarm systems and other forms of defense to keep strangers out and our possessions in. When I woke up on Tuesday, April 6th, 2011, I never imagined someone would come inside of my home and ramble through my things and take from me whatever they wanted. If I could have seen into the future, I would attempt to change the minds of the guys who broke into my apartment.
Dread and sorrow wash throughout me. We spent so long in this cursed building to prevent us from ending up like we did. I furrow my brows. The foul smell of rotting old wood came upon my senses. Now, I could only taste dryness in my throat. This attic has still not changed one bit.
I took a deep breath as I walked through the doorway. The door was stuck open, hanging on just one of its hinges. It was clear that no one had been near this place in a long time. As I entered, a stench hit me. It smelt sickly sweet, almost like rotten fairy floss. I looked around the room at the faded and ripped wallpaper, and the broken furniture. The air was so thick with dust it was almost impossible to breathe, and everything was thickly covered with dust. The little light there was came from the cracks in the yellowed blinds.
Without the human aware I’m behind her, I grabbed her from behind. She starts shrieking like a banshee and thrashing her arms and legs. I use my fist to shut this human up; they’re so fragile it doesn’t take much to break them. I threw her over my slumping shoulder and started to turn toward the sea as I hear another human yelling at me.
Instantly, upon entering, sounds could be heard over their collective breaths. They went room to room and scrutinised their surroundings, until eventually they met with the foot of the stairs. Opposite which the workshop door was open for all to peer into. Bare walls, a bare desk and merely small collections of dust on the ground in rectangular shapes from where the steel shelving had once stood
I jumped onto the creature’s back and held on by its hair. It flung its tail at me, the venom soaked tip just missing my face as I leapt out of its way,
Usually, the only sounds we could hear would be the occasional downpours of rain. This wasn’t rain. It was more like… footsteps. But it couldn’t be. Nobody was able to walk on The Surface anymore. At least, not humans. Every child hears rumors that mice, birds, lizards, even cats could survive there. The sounds echoing above me could not come from a cat.
stalled to give myself a chance to find something sharp. My nails dug into its tainted skin, grabbed a hold of its spine, and pulled. I stifled a grunt to avoid drawing any attention. Its skin burned my flesh and I yanked my hand out.
Jessica just moved out of her hometown to move to Florida. Her mother enrolled her to a local High School from where she lives. She was very excited to go because she wanted to make new friends and have a fresh start. She is very pretty and outgoing so she instantly made friends and had got the attention of almost all the football team. Katie the caption of the cheerleader did not like her because she thought Jessica was going to take her boyfriend. She told her friends to tweet about Jessica and say mean stuff about her so Jessica can move back. Her friends listen and told other people to say bad things about Jessica. People soon stopped hanging out with her and she was devastated. Everyday their will be people commenting and saying hurtful
She launched herself at me, stabbing me multiple times. Before I knew it, I had blacked out.
An empty building. My ears rang almost painfully in the silent air. An empty building – it could be a storehouse. But what is there to store? An empty room. Nothing alerted me, though I know not to walk in there. Not to walk over to the shelf with empty boxes. Not to go behind it. Not to search and find large skeletal bones, connecting in a way that resembled an impossibly enormous jellyfish. Not to follow this bone trail into the back corner, where a door opened somewhat welcoming into a place that held no light of day. Not to step in…
It was over now! The egregious act was done. I had killed this woman. The round and flabby corpse lay there stone-like. Her dead face looked as obnoxious as when it was living. But I had a smirk on my face for she was gone forever.
After I had mixed the dough, I left it resting as the oven heated up. Kitchen cleaning distracted me for at least a few minutes when the slight movement of the velvet curtain (separating my space from the sanctuary) caught my attention. I had heard no one else enter. My heart pounded out a warning. Padding to the divide, my eye found a small crack to peer
I tried to move, but her speed was so fast. She hurled me towards the wall, smashing my head hard. I could feel the blood dripping down my neck as pain burst through my head. I kicked and tried to push her off, but her strength was multiplied by nine.
Please, know that my mother who has moved into my home this past summer has had a heart attack and was taken to Baptist Hospital this past Wednesday and then released yesterday with the prognosis not good. Honestly, I've had no downtime with the friends and family around. I realized early this morning that I missed the deadline for Chapter 7, Connect Exercise 7 and recall that you do not reopen up assignments. However, taking the initiative and completed all 6 steps that I spent a good 3 hours on and scored 100/100. My hopes are that you would allow me that grade. I thought I would just
