When I entered the parking lot I saw that the lot was clean with no trash or any other type of debris in sight. I approached the entrance of the store and noticed a promotional ad that advertised their current sale of ‘buy one, get one half off of selected items.’ I entered the store and began to look at the furniture, there was a salesperson that passed by me, but she did not acknowledge me. I looked around for a little longer there was another salesperson that passed me and also did not acknowledge me. As I walked through the store I observed the attractive design of the furniture as well as the area rugs and accent pieces. After I had been in the store for about 11 minutes I approached the counter, and asked if there was a sales person available that could help me. The salesperson that was behind the counter said that she would be with me as soon as she …show more content…
As we continued our discussion he explained that I would be able to get 60 months financing on a Tempur Pedic bed which would help to lessen the cost. Luther demonstrated the remote control on the adjustable bed, but he did not have me lie down on the mattress and he did not mention the pillow covers. He did mention the mattress covers and explained that they were hypo allergenic, washable and a great bargain. I told Luther that I liked the furniture but I was not sure about making the purchase, he did not ask for the sale but he offered me his card and told me that he was there every day and if I had any questions or I decided that I wanted to purchase the bedroom set that I had liked that I should call him and he would be glad to help me. He did not ask for my contact information but he walked me to the door and told me to have a good day as I was leaving. I did not have an opportunity to meet a manager during my time at this
A day in the life of a veterinary technician may include answering clients’ questions, providing written or verbal instructions regarding care of an animal, answering the telephone,
The purpose of my observation this week was to observe communication. The first example of communication I observed was between a teacher and a teacher. They were discussing tests and to keep things private and confidential they talked quietly.
I ordered the next set of food. He gave us our total and I replied, “Thanks Kyle!” and pulled up to the window again. When we pulled up the second time, Kyle appeared very confused about our return, but he went along with it. This time we paid in cash. We had a short conversation with him while waiting for the food to be done. He gave us the food and we drove around to the speaker again.
The clerk apologized for scamming us and taking our money he also gave us a refund.
* Body Paragraph #3 - Differentiate appropriate levels of self-disclosure and emotional intelligence in various relationships.
I took the train to Strawberry 34. It was not a long commute. There I met with Sharon Wilburn, the key holder for this particular store. She was not hard to find and quickly assisted. It was a warm and friendly environment with two of the participants present. I spoke to them and asked them if they had everything they needed to completed the task at hand. Additionally, I asked them about their supervision, they told me they had excellent supervision and have been learning a lot about the retail business. I then collected the tome sheets and proceed to assess the facility. It was clean and well kept. The participants were task with folding and moving various products. This store is well lit, had proper ventilation and a new sprinkler system.
For setting aside the time to speak with me, even if our conversations tend to occur sporadically and go on for hours at a time. I have learned so much from you: from self-confidence and assurance to who I am as a person and what that means for my view of the world. It may not seem like it, but I have grown so much within the almost six months (whoa) we have communicated and worked together. You give wonderful advice and never make me feel less than worthy of being here working alongside all of you amazingly talented and intelligent people. You have gotten to know me so well that, I don’t know if you have even noticed, you
I knew that part of our company policy was to not allow to sway customers from shopping at Stop and Shop. I felt that being a good person I should just help the customer out and tell him to go to the A&P to rent the rug doctor. I also felt that I should follow the company’s policy and be a responsible employee. So after I pondered my two options I felt that part of my job is to follow all the rules even though I do not agree with all of them. So I told the customer that this was the lowest price we can offer. The customer accepted that and he continued
For my first observation I was in the cafeteria at the place I go to volunteer “D&M with my individual who I give support we were going to lunch, It was around 11:50 I got my lunch and sit on a table a minute later two ladies sit on the table behind me and they start talking about how long they have until the kids come to lunch, one of them say they had 30 min cause they would come at 12:30, one of the ladies ask the other one what she wanted to do, received them and take role or prepare the cups with ice, the other lady answer “ I will do the ice”, the other lady told her “ok”, then they started talking about the long weekend one asked “so what are you doing this long weekend” the other lady answer her that nothing just sleep because this
We had become very comfortable in our corner with our overly sweet pastries when an announcement was made that the store would be closing in five minutes. This came as quite a shock to me, but she and I chose to ignore it for some time. She got up to go use the restroom quickly before we absolutely needed to leave. That was when one of the employees began walking around and told everyone to leave. It wasn’t very polite. I picked up Ali’s heavy bag and slowly shuffled towards the exit, glancing back every few seconds in the hopes that she would have returned from the restroom. An employee told me to go outside. There I was, anxiously lingering by the door of Barnes & Noble, hoping she would come out quickly. I’m naturally a very nervous person and this situation caused me to become rather distressed. But all was well again when I heard her call my name. My concern was for
The rise in social media usage leads to a drop in interpersonal communication. The lack of interpersonal relationships remains to be a focus of many research studies determining if this leaves social media users more or less connected to peers. One study compares the time spent on the Internet for communication purposes and non-communication purposes in regards to how this affects friendship quality (Selfhout, Branje, Delsing, Bogt, & Meeus, 2009). Results from this study find that the most depressive subjects recorded are from people who report low friendship quality and mainly use the Internet for non-communication purposes. Researchers also study whether the quality of existing friendships suffers due to the depressive nature of the participants
The majority of people, walks into the store, and then greets the person working who greeted them. I observed that a third of the time a customer walks into the store, they tell the associate that they are “just looking”. Another portion is the people either know exactly what they want, or they have called ahead and put their items of choice on hold. Usually most people engage in a causal conversation with associates to let them know what products they are looking for.
By starting to leave the store, the consumer was, in effect, revealing to the clerk that Bundle A was
Often humans form opinions about one another that may hinder them from listening to a particular group or person effectively. Two ways listening can be impaired is by stereotypes and prejudices’ formed before a certain person even expresses themselves nonverbally or verbally.
Instead of using the same typical lines that many workers use like “hi, how can I help you” or “have you been helped yet” (trust me in guilty of this) he greeted me by saying “Hello, Good afternoon welcome to Keyes Chevrolet, my name is CJ, and you are?”. He made me feel welcomed right away and if I really was buying a car he didn’t even give me an option to say that I’m just looking. As I said my name he continued with “what brings you in today” I responded “well I’m a college student and currently have a car but I was kind of interested in looking at some options” . The he responded with “great I can assist you with that, is
