The reason that I am interested in becoming a member of the National Honor Society is because the National Honor Society represents all of the values that I find most important in my education and life. National Honor Society requires academic excellence throughout high school. At the beginning of my Freshman year, I set a goal to graduate with a 4.0 GPA. I have worked diligently to achieve and maintain this grade point average while taking several advanced classes. The values which the National Honor Society exudes and its members must stand for are leadership, scholarship, service and character. For these reasons, I know that I would be a valuable member of the National Honor Society, due to my scholastic expertise, my ability to both persevere against and to entertain, ideas which conflict with my own and my skill at entering and excelling in leadership positions.

I believe I qualify for membership in the National Honor Society for the reason that I love helping out with school activities and non-school activities. I find pleasure in helping out in my community and being an exceptional example for kids that may look up to me or are younger than me.

Out of the four characteristics of National Honor Society, I felt the most important is a character. It’s because it distinguishes how your behavior shows daily the way you carry yourself every day. The characteristics of outstanding scholarship, leadership, character, service and citizen definitely apply to me as an individual. The characteristics of outstanding scholarship apply to me as an individual because I have maintained a 4.0 grade point average for the first two trimesters and will continue to maintain a 4.0 grade point average. The characteristics of excellent citizenship relate to me because I have never gotten suspended, expelled, or a detention and have never had excessive tardiness. The National English Honor Society would let me interact with a diverse group of students. Joining the Society would give me a chance to take trips to colleges and other places to learn new things. If accepted to the Society I would dedicate my time to it and not be distracted by anything that will take away from my education. Writing has always inspired me which is a big part of English it is a good way to express yourself it is the way I express myself. Joining the English Honor Society would all around help me stay in track with my education.

I have always found being inducted into National Honor Society (NHS) as great privilege. NHS requires certain qualities to be withheld by the members, and the organization is based on four core elements: character, scholarship, leadership, and service. In order to be inducted, an individual must demonstrate each of these attributes and must continue to exhibit these qualities after induction. This organization has kept me involved with my school and community and has also made me a better person.

The Dr. John Grieco Campus of Bergen County Academies High School appears to be an excellent school for me to attend, and I would love to spend the next four years learning there. Ever since I began sixth grade, it was clear to me that I would want to enroll in this school. I feel that I would make a wonderful addition to this academic institution because I have been an overachieving student all my life. I have participated in school programs such as Advanced Math, WEL (Wyckoff Extended Learning), and TAP (Talented Art Program). I have also been on the Honor Roll at Eisenhower Middle School since the sixth grade. Going to this school would be a fantastic experience, and I hope that I will be accepted.

The National Honor Society is one of the most prestigious societies at Glen Allen. Since my freshman year, I have been constantly working towards reaching my goal of getting into this society. There have been days where I want give up, but I know the harder I worker, the better the payoff will be in the future.
