My Hero As A Hero

As a child, a hero to me was someone with superpowers; such as Superman, the Flash, and more. Later I learned that heroes do not always need to be someone who has extraordinary features. Heros don’t need to have to have high importance in society or have a classic sandwich named after them in the local pub. A hero just needs to be someone who cares about your happiness and loves you for being yourself. Someone who is always ready to face challenges and such. Someone who is willing to put a hundred percent effort into protecting you from pain. They will stop at nothing to provide you with the security of safety; and will share with you the knowledge required for survival.

When I was about seven I had realized that my mom was my hero. One day I decided to throw an enormous tantrum about eating my vegetables. As a hero, my mom made me eat every single carrot, pea, cucumber, and broccoli on my plate. As a child, I thought that she was a cruel parent forcing her kids to eat something utterly repulsive. In reality that single instance had taught me several life lessons such as how to have self-control, how to eat healthily, and most importantly how to sneak vegetables into my napkin under the table. Because of my mother’s lesson, I try to discipline myself to do things that I would rather procrastinate about such as the undesirable task of eating vegetables; doing my homework and chores before enjoying going out with friends.
