I don’t know about you, but my favorite holiday is Christmas; there’s nothing better than waking up on Christmas morning to see what presents your parents had gotten you. This was my favorite part of Christmas and if you asked other kids they would say the same thing. Christmas was a time for opening gifts and enjoying time with family. Luckily for me, I went to my grandma 's on my mother’s side. One year we go to my mother 's side and the following year we go to my father 's side. Even though I love getting presents on Christmas, it is not the only great thing about the holiday; spending time with your family, friends, and remembering Jesus Christ are important too.
On the morning of December 25th, 2010, I was a twelve-year old boy. Waking up on Christmas morning was something I had been looking forward to for a few weeks. I was beyond excited to see what presents I had gotten from my parents. There was nothing better than getting to see what new toys I would have to play with. I woke up around 7 A.M. and ran into my parent’s room to wake them up so we could open our presents; while I was jumping for joy, they were half awake and trying to get out of bed before I pulled them out myself. After they finally got out of bed we went into the living room. This is where we have always opened presents on Christmas Day. In my family, it has always been a tradition to open all of our gifts on Christmas morning. I sat on the couch with my mom, my two dogs with us, and my dad sat in
In the year 2008, I received my first elf for Christmas. Her name was Snowflake and she appeared with my brothers’ elves and my mom’s old childhood elf, Duende. She’s so beautiful with her velvet green dress, red and white striped tights with green velvet elf shoes with tiny bells. Every year after Thanksgiving, my elves would arrive. I have about twelve elves because I take such good care of them that Santa sends me his elves. Our family elves are extremely mischievous and do tricks every day during the Christmas Holidays. It is my favorite time of the year. Every morning as soon as I wake up, I run downstairs to see what mischievous things my elves have done. They are very smarting, witty and extremely creative. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love Christmas carols, decorating the house with my mom, baking cookies for Santa, the smell of pine from the Christmas tree and opening presents Christmas morning.
Christmas, the pinnacle of every holiday and the one day in the year where families gather around, exchange gifts, and honor the birth God's son. This would be the meaning of Christmas for most families but... my family's another story. You see, my cousins make a trip from Texas to North Dakota to visit us for Christmas every year. I know what you're
This season brings smiles, laughter, cheerfulness, and love to the atmosphere. Christmas, the best time of year, filled with candy canes, gingerbread houses, decorated trees, perfectly wrapped presents, and glistening lights. Everything about Christmas brings out the joy and happiness in people. Christmas is the most adored holiday for many reasons.
When it comes to holidays such as my favorite which is the cold wintery days of Christmas. Christmas is an amazing time for any kid, Christmas is a time for every kid to look forward to, that is the great Thanksgiving dinner of coalescing, the long break off of school, or simply the spending of time with your family. Usually on
Waking up early on Christmas was always a thing my brothers and I did when we were younger. What made those moments so special was all the decorating we did in the week before. Decorating the Christmas tree was always one of my favorites. Seeing the same ornaments year after year never got old for me. I remember stringing out the tangled lights we used for the outside of the house all throughout the yard. I would hand my brothers a string of lights as he stood on the ladder supported by the house. I always enjoyed putting up the little snowman and gingerbread houses throughout my living room. As you get older all the decorating and family time seems to decline, so spending time with family on holidays were always
December eleventh, 2012, started out as any other Tuesday did. After school, I left with my friend, Jessica, and her mom to go pick up her little sister, Sophia, planning to go shopping before heading to a doctor's appointment. When picking up her sister, we stayed to talk and eat popcorn with the family who had been watching her for about half an hour before heading to the
The United States is praised in social studies classes for being a “melting pot” that accepts all no matter their race, creed, or religion. However, one group of Americans is claiming they are being unfairly persecuted for their faith, because they are unable to practice it the way they see fit. They are not a minority religion or newly established, but in fact Christians. Considering that Christianity is the largest faith group in this United States, it is important to analyze these claims of injustice and determine if there is a valid argument at play. It is also vital to examine what role Christians play within these conflicts and the current American landscape. Once these two elements are explored, other instances of documented religious
I never expected anyone to be this heartbroken over my death. Here I was 15 year old boy named Andy Hollows. My death was tragic, Leukemia is never easy to deal with. I was currently watching my mom wrap Christmas presents for my younger sibling. This is their first Christmas without me and I wasn’t too happy with my dad acting like a Grinch this time of the year in this exact situation. Lord knows my mom did not need it, nobody did in fact they were depressed, heartbroken, lost, and dull. I was always the one to cheer them up when they were sad, help Mom decorate for christmas, and help my younger sister, Ann pick out a ugly Christmas sweater to wear. I was interrupted out of my dark and useless thoughts by the door bell ringing.
My favorite holiday is Hanukkah. On Hanukkah I get to get together with friends and family to celebrate. The food eaten is also amazing. Some of the traditional foods that we eat on Hanukkah are latkes, jelly donuts, and matzah ball soup. When everyone gathers together to celebrate the holiday they are all in a cheerful mood. Everyone has fun lighting the menorah, playing dreidel, and spending time with one another.
Everyone has a favorite holiday, mine happens to be christmas. Christmas is not just fun and games, it has a lot of history behind it. For example, traditions, Christmas around the world, and Christmas in the past.
Christmas to me is a special time of the year. It is a time for everyone to get along and to celebrate what Christmas is really about but not everyone gets to celebrate Christmas. This season can even be about miracles happening. Around this time the characters in the book try to bring their parents back together and they rescue the puppies that were left on the doorstep. To me this is a wonderful time of the year but not only because Christmas is my favorite holiday but because it is a time to spend with your family and cherish the moments you spend together. We may not get to see or spend time with everyone in the family throughout the year, so this time of the year is great to be able to have that chance to. Overall, it has influenced me in each of these ways to hopefully not have my children go through this and for any type of animals no matter what to be abused in any
What is your favorite holiday and why? My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love the spirit of giving and making others happy.
Christians ought not to celebrate Christmas like they would a secular holiday, according to renowned evangelist Billy Graham.
Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. I love seeing the shinny Christmas lights that decorates my street and the sound of fresh fallen snow on the ground. Christmas reminds me of family, the laughter and loved we shared, and the gifts we gave to each other. My house on Christmas became the center of my joy.
I think Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays. Maybe because of the special atmosphere that you can feel everywhere, in shops, restaurants , pubs and even streets, where you can hear the magical carols, or maybe it's because of its religious background, but what I can tell you for sure is that I can't think of anything more exciting than the image of the entire family preparing the Christmas Tree or fixing the Christmas dishes.
