When I was a kid, school for me was waking up early in the morning. I also have to study a lot in school, then after school I have to do homework. I remember my first day at school. My mom and dad, both were so happy and prepared but I was so nervous and cheerless. I didn’t like to wake up early in the morning for school , but as time flew by I started loving school which made me wake up with energy instead of tiredness. I began to enjoy the school as I made new friends and I got to know how it is like when you meet people out of your neighborhood. With my friends I had lunch together and study together. I started to understand what the purpose of the education system. Based on what I understood I think the purpose of education is really aimed at helping students get to the point where they can learn to be on their own. In this journey of education I had a lot of positive and few negative experiences, but the negative experiences also helped me growing. Positive experiences are my teachers helping me improve, and I improved more when I moved to the United States. Education is a path that begins a wonderful journey that never should be confused with a decision that leads to a destination. Education neither starts nor ends with degree or diploma, it is a lifelong journey. My wondrous journey began in kindergarten in 2003. It wasn't easy for me because that was the first place I ever got to interact with people, mainly kids at my age. When I began, I had to take the basic
Firstly, each person’s experience with starting school is different. For me school has always been a second home to me. I like learning and experiencing new things that the school has to offer. I can honestly say that I have gained lifelong friends from my school years, as well as learned few things from the teachers. I find that what you learn and gain from going to school will always stay with you for the rest of your adult life. You reflect back and know when and where that particular skills or knowledge was learned.
Education has always been the idea of getting a degree that enables myself to receive a job that will support my future. Although that is not the only reason why I am in college. I am in college because that is what's expected in today's society. However receiving a higher education can open paths like how to become an effective communicator and thinker. After the gateway session, education feels like a privilege bestowed upon only the fortunate in society.
My life decisions so far is based on my journey for best education. It has shaped my career path, my choices and my home. Essentially, I can liken my education, to a metamorphosis process. My belief on education is passed down from my parents, but we all share the same value of education; it is the key to attaining a successful position in our career. So, whenever my education proved unsatisfactory, we gambled our chances and moved schools every two years within Dubai. When we received a chance to move to the U.S., my parents took the chance and moved here during my sophomore year. The move accompanied many challenges like adapting to the new syllabus, foundation contexts of each courses, and fitting in to new environments. However, none of these phased me negatively as I have continued to survive and adapt with my peers, disregarding the disadvantages I had to face along the changes introduced in my life.
As an adult student at Colorado Christian I'm proud to say that I never thought of even continuing my education. Only due to the fact that I have a child and a full time job. Finding out that I was able to pursue my education online is the next best thing thats ever happened to me. Understanding that I can learn from home and still be a mother has given me so much confidence. I feel like I'll have the degree I desire in absolutely no time.
Hello Ashley it is a great pleasure to meet you and I'm looking forward to working with you throughout this eight week journey. I applaud you on wanting to open a daycare and work with children, people that teach children do you have a very special place in their hearts for them. Being a teacher or even being around children at a daycare you get to see different reactions or side effects of a child's behavior. I currently raising a child who has a disorder which I think it is bipolar but that is yet to be determined. Good luck on your research paper and your educational journey.
In kindergarten, preschool, and even part of first grade my life seemed great. I loved school, I thought it had to be the most incredible thing ever, I got to ride the bus to school, see my friends and show of how smart I believed to be. I had lots of friends, we would share stories, play on the swings, and color together. School gave me the opportunity to learn knew things and impress my brother. School had to be the most genius idea in the world.
Throughout one’s whole educational career, one is constantly asked “What are you going to be when you grow up?” For some this answer to this question comes easy, while others struggle to find the answer. As I analyze my academic journey thus far, I find myself at a crossroads. I find that even though I have no concrete answer to this question, I do have a passion that has been evident since the day I began my educational journey.
I have not had many jobs. However, the few that I did were meaningful and taught me a great deal. One such job was the one I held during the summer of my sophomore year. I worked at one of the many North Star Charter schools that serve students of several minority groups in my hometown of Newark, NJ. During my time at North Star, I helped design curriculum for the General Educational Development (GED) program. I gained insight into methods used to teach adults, some far removed from high school by as many as twenty years. I had the opportunity to see how the teachers would adapt the methods originally used to teach their elementary students to educate their GED students. This experience sparked my interest in alternative methods of education
I’m a second year double major in English and Communications with a minor in Psychology. I love to read, go on adventures, meet new people, and achieve things that may seem out of my reach.
Education has been instilled into me growing up as an important part of being successful.Through highschool I have been working hard to put myself in a position to ready myself
Education is the foundation in which people build upon as they grow older in age. From birth to death we are constantly adding to the repertoire of knowledge that one may obtain through the proper channels of learning. As we look at an education we can see that it is an investment, kind of like a bank account. We can put money in the bank and let it sit for long periods of
Education in America is taken for granted. People do not realize that learning any part of literacy was a luxury in the past. Today, it is considered a luxury in smaller countries that are under-developed. In those developing countries, public education is not free like it is in America. Parents are pushing their kids into school earlier and for longer. In the 1800s, children normally ended education after eighth-grade. Their school days were half of what they are today. Each thing taught is important in its own way, but literacy is required to survive in the world today. Going somewhere as simple as the grocery store requires the smallest amount of literacy. I started my literacy journey when I was a mere 4 years old. My journey was challenging in some parts and a breeze in other parts. Learning to write was the hardest part of my journey, while reading and comprehending was effortless.
This story has to begin in my middle school years. At this age, I was already being tested annually amongst my peers. My parents had already received grades from the prior year letting them know that I was excelling in math and science. This year was different, this year they kept emphasizing on how it counts. And how it did. The grade I had received on these standardized tests statewide were enough to push me to the next level.
Education is a journey through the universe. The universe is enormous and seems to have no end. If a person wants to be truly educated, he or she must spend years in school studying both important and trivial information. The material in the solar system represents the years a student spends in school. The remaining space in the universe is the endless learning one does outside of the classroom.
I began my educational journey at National Louis University, more than 19 years ago. It has always been a passion of mine to complete my bachelor’s degree. However, as my career began to grow rapidly, I put aside completing my degree and focused on other things. I even tried convincing myself that this was something I did not need because I had reached the very top of my field and was satisfied, both personally and professionally. I would soon learn this was not true. Gnawing at me was the fact that I was less than a few hours away from completing my degree, how could I let that go; I could not. In January 2017, I met with an advisor and was informed that due to the length of time I needed more than a few hours; I presented a plan to my advisor in which I outlined my intentions, including my plans to complete my degree by the end of August, taking two or more classes at one time if necessary. Working full time and going to school, while taking more than one class and in some instances, I would experience the overlapping of classes as I transitioned from one class to the next. In the end, I persevered and completed my degree in August as I planned. In anticipation of completing my degree, I began to ponder the completion of my Masters of Science in Human Resources Management and Development, you see I now have the wind beneath my wings and am more determined than ever to accomplish this task.
