Setting plays a huge roll in almost everything that you read. In “The Most Dangerous Game” setting is a very important factor in the story. “Off there to the is a large island.” This quote shows setting and is important to the story because it shows that they feel like the island is a mystery. “The muttering and growling of the sea breaking on the rocky shore.” This setting quote is also very important because it gives detail and shows that this is calming to him. Without setting in this story it would be less understood because setting is what helps you understand the mood and feelings from their surroundings.

I'm going to compare this to Rainsford of "The Most Dangerous Game." I disagree with the quote while comparing it to Rainsford. My reasoning being throughout all of "The Most Dangerous Game", his core character doesn't change and he keeps his composure even though he is alone and may meet his demise.

There is a legend that says a curse hovers over Ship Trap Island that causes people who inhabit the land to do evil things. Some instances have proven that theory. First, there was that Angolan dictator, who was overthrown, then came to the island to regain power. Secondly, there was General Zaroff, who believed that hunting humans was morally okay. Then, there was Sanger Rainsford. When he had first come to the island, he seemed as if he were a moral and just person. After defeating the General, he went on to establish a foundation that made sure equality and human rights were put into play. Ultimately, the foundation experienced a downfall: it was shut down.

In the most Dangerous Game Rainsford jumped off the boat a swam to an island. When Rainsford was at the island he meets, a man named Zaroff and Zaroff was acting all nice but when u got to know him he was looking for sporting mans. Zaroff is a man that likes to hunt human but not animals. Rainsford was being hunted by Zaroff but then Rainsford said, “I’m not the prey, I’m the predator and you’re the prey so watch out”. Rainsford build a tiger pit for Zaroff so he can fall into it and then one of Zaroff dog died.
