The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints also known as the Mormons was formally organized in a small log cabin in upstate New York in 1830 (Worldwide Statistics, 2017). By 1947, the initial six-member church had grown to one million members. Today, current church members are over fifteen million.
One of the Mormons religious belief is missionary work. The Mormons missionary work is based on the New Testament. They serve in pairs and teach the gospel and try to attract believers to the name of Jesus Christ. Mormon Missionaries love what they do and love to share the message of God and His plan and the divine mission of Jesus Christ. Mormon missionaries can be seen throughout the streets across the world spreading the word and their faith. Companionships are usually either both males or both females, never one of each. Companionships are established to look out for one another as most missionaries live far from home (10 Things to Know, 2017).
According to Mormonism 101 (2017), “The fundamental principles of our religion are … concerning Jesus Christ that He died was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it.” Some other beliefs of the Mormons, are that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, Christ allows us to be saved from our sins and the original Church as read in the New Testament has been restored.
