As I was driving back home from work in the lumber mill, I saw a carnival which wasn’t there when I went to work this morning. I decided to stop and see what was there. I forgot my jacket at work, so i was cold, especially since it was I cold, chilly December night. I walked into the carnival and I saw a sign meet the best fakir in England. I was shocked by the statement that he was the best, so I wanted to go talk to him myself. I walked into his tent which is on it’s own side of the carnival, alone, away from everyone. He told me, “ You are the one I have been waiting for”. “ What do you want for me,fakir?”
” For you to take this burden off of me,” He handed me a Monkey paw and said ”I get three wishes.” He calmly walked me outside and fell over dead as soon as he took one step out of the tent. This is when all of my hardships began.
When I got back home, my mother was still awake, waiting on me to get back home, it was almost three in the morning. She asked, “ where were you?”
” The carnival, I was giving this monkey paw.”
” I don’t need to know about your little toys, goodnight sweetie.”

I started to think what would be something to wish for. I decided to wish that my lumber mill would become famous. I didn’t think this little monkey paw would work, until I went to work the next day. As I walked into the mill, I saw the police standing there as if they were waiting for someone. They arrested me for the murder of my co-worker, Jamis Stamey. I got life without parole in court. My mom came to visit me one day after I was in Aylesbury, she told me,” That the lumber mill was basically famous.” I screamed and fainted, when I woke up, the guard that was next to my cell came up and told me,” Your mother just passed away of a heart
One of the ways that "The Monkey’s Paw" exemplifies the horror genre is through the use of horror without monsters(topic #1). A representative of Maw and Meggins comes to the White’s home and gives them the news of their son’s short life. “She broke off suddenly as the sinister meaning of assurance dawned upon her and she saw the awful confirmation of her fears in the other’s averted face”(Jacobs 112). The quote means that Mrs. White had suddenly realized what it meant to have been hurt but not be in any pain. When she had realized her son died she realized she needed to tell her husband. What she did not know was that it was part of the curse that Mr. White had wished for. The quotation helps to show that "The Monkey’s Paw" exemplifies the
After a short ten-minute walk home from school, when I finally arrived at my house, I flopped onto the couch. It was a Friday afternoon, and I was ready for the football game that night, and for the weekend to begin. My mom was sitting on the couch across from me and asked me how my day at school was. I described to her what had happened that day, and the stuff we did in my classes. As we get done talking about school, she inquired
How can people best respond to conflicts is a question commonly asked by people going through a difficult situation without any knowledge of how to respond properly to a certain conflict. The reality is: there is no solid answer to this question. It all depends on what your conflict is, and of course in what position you are. According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a conflict is an active disagreement, as between opposing opinions or needs[1], and according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary the definition of conflict is: a struggle for power[2] , so without a doubt, what people want as a result in a conflict is to have power over the problem, to have control.
It was a sunny day here in New Jersey, I was getting ready to go see the Twin towers memorial the next day."Julie! Come down here please we need to talk!"said my mother.
Moonlight engulfed the island, concealing its dark nature. An eerie silence hung in the air soon broken by the sound of creepers and faint footsteps. A group of boys emerged out of the thick jungle of shadows, with Jack at the lead and Ralph close behind. They walked duly, pace slowing down by the minute. A cool, dense, fog surrounded them, masking their path ahead. Jack squinted his eyes, trying to adjust his vision to the ever growing fog.
It was a beautiful day.I just got home from school, my brother and I walked through the door. We got some special news. That my mom would tell us individually.
It was a Saturday morning. I was exhausted from last night’s party so I decided to sleep in. It had only been about 5 minutes after I decided I would sleep longer when my mom called.
the next morning as we are packing for the trip back to Mexico, i went outside to say my goodbyes to my friends. But they were already on the bus going to school. I felt my heart dropped remembering about school. I went back inside to finish packing. mama and papa were in the back of the tent discussing about our trip. we walked to the train station and bought our tickets. soon after it was time to board. sitting by mama i could see tears running down her cheeks. at that second i felt like we are never coming back
I stood on the porch just thinking about my mother, oh how I miss my mother. If I could just see her one more time I would have so much to tell her. All I have left was my sister and my father, I'm just thinking about how much love I need to show them; because no one knows how much time we have left her on the earth. At the time, looking back on my mother and all she did for me, I honestly believe that she was the only person in my life that gave me joy and happiness. During the war the only thing I could ever thing of, the only thing that keep me sane was my mother. While being sorrowful on the porch, the door opens and I see my sister standing there crying. She runs at me a leaps into my arms crying, she tells me “its been to long brother”. I tell her that crying will only make me cry. At that moment my father walks throw the door and gives both my sister and I the biggest most immense hug. After maybe ten minutes of hugging the the porch we head inside and I got to take a shower and get ice for my head trying to relieve the

I didn’t know what to do, Ponyboy was being drowned in a fountain, some Socs were coming closer to me, probably to beat me up again, the switchblade I had in my pocket was now in my hands behind my back so they didn’t try to take it from me, but I had it out and ready to use to fight them if necessary. Bob, he looked familiar, I looked down at his hands, and he had two rings on his fingers, he was one of the Socs who beat me up last time. Pony was screaming for help, the thing is I was being surrounded so I couldn’t help him. I couldn’t take it anymore, I didn’t want to be tortured again, so as soon as Bob laid his hands on me, I took my switchblade out from hiding behind me, and stabbed him in the side.He immediately fell to the ground, a
As the winter went on the grasshopper got hungrier and hungrier. He tried to find the ant to ask for some food. He dug to try to find something to eat. He didn’t have much energy left, so he went and laid down in the snow. Hungry as a horse, he was getting very weak. As he was falling asleep he heard something coming. It was the ant. The ant had seen him digging for food and decided to come and help him. Ant helped him back to his den and gave Grasshopper some of his food. After they had eaten they, Ant and Grasshopper went for a walk. Grasshopper said, “Thank you so much for the food. If you hadn’t come along I probably would have died.” Ant replied, “I could just let you starve to death, but you had to learn a lesson.” Grasshopper explained, “I now know why you were working so hard during the summer, and I will work just as hard next summer to build up food for the winter.” They kept walking until they came to a farm.
“Inky, I think we've lost our way.” Sheldon the Sea Crab scratched his spiky head with his front claw. “We've wandered out too far; I don't know where we are.”
Hearing Karamatsu repeat those words again put Chibita somewhat at peace, but he was rather surprised when Karamatsu took the initiative, and their lips suddenly made contact. Chibita didn't move at all during the kiss, he wasn't displeased or anything, he was just so shocked that he was frozen in place. However, the kiss didn't last long and Karamatsu pulled away soon after. Chibita gazed at Karamatsu's flushed face and he thought the other looked pretty cute like that. And it eased his anxiety to know that he wasn't the only one to be embarrassed in this kind of situation.
Choromatsu sighed in frustration as Todomatsu explained their current situation. Karamatsu was outside by himself, avoiding his brothers. He knew that his older brother was afraid to face them. He had made a mistake, a huge one. Choromatsu will admit, it was probably a good mistake, as the man, he had brought with him knew how to cook. He had sworn just earlier; his lips were sealed. He didn’t even need to be threatened, much to Ichimatsu’s dismay.
