Michelangelo once said “The greater danger for most of us is not setting our aim to high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low; and achieving our mark”. Agreeing with this quote there are too many people that set their goals to low. First off people do not believe in themselves they do not believe they can achieve and succeed on a high level. Secondly people are afraid of failure people do not want to fail at something they think their good at. Finally some people believe everything should be handed to them. And they should not have to work for things they want. Yes agreeing with Michelangelo’s quote many people under achieve when they can over achieve they are just afraid of failure. Too many people do not believe in themselves
The thematic statement, “Ambition may lead to negative outcomes” is very true and unfortunately has applied to me. In the summer of 2010, I found myself to be very ambitious and I wanted to learn how to swim, so i asked my grandma to sign me up for swimming lessons. I was very excited, but I was also very nervous. When she finally agreed to sign me up, i was was bursting with excitement. The anticipation was growing and my swimming class were only a week or so away, and I was extremely excited.
From the 14th century to the 17th century the Renaissance took place and was consider the cultural bridge that connect the middle ages to modern history. During this time many spectacular things took place. Artwork was created that looked as though it were from the heavens. Sculptures were generated that looked as an angel had sculpted the masterpiece. The architecture that took place looked as though it were created from the 19th century. Many architects, artist, and sculptures were present during the Renaissance, but there was one person that stood out the most. Some people say that with dedication, persistence, and time people can accomplish any goal. Others say that people are limited in what they can accomplish and need to be realistic when setting goals.
When thinking of sculptures, one of the first that comes to mind is David. This statue was created of marble between 1501 and 1504 and stands over 14 feet high. David is a symbol that represents strength and anger. The statue had intended political connotations for the ruling of the Medici family. Michelangelo used David as model of "heroic courage" to demonstrate that "spiritual strength can be more effective than arms". Michelangelo insisted that David should stand as a symbol of the republic and act as a warning that Florence shall be governed justly and bravely". This was the first time since antiquity that a large nude statue be exhibited in a public place.
"The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short, but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark." This quote is significant to a wide variety of people for the mere fact that everyone goes through this. I think that at one point or another, most people will realize goals are meant to be set high rather than low. I also believe people often experience this danger through becoming lazy. The human race is much too powerful to be unproductive. If we set our aim too low, we become incapable of reaching our goals. True satisfaction comes from hard work and morals. An example of this comes from literature. It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini, tells the hardships of a young man who becomes

Michelangelo was written by Diane Stanley. He is known for his famous quote “The true work of art is but a shadow of the divine perfection.” I chose Michelangelo because his art has always piqued my interest and his overall accomplishments amaze me.

Some people are successful because they are destined to be such. But most people are more successful because they are determined to reach this goal. We just know what we want and how to achieve it. You would probably have laid out your plans for your life already, and that you would exhaust all efforts just to attain what you desire. But sometimes, we question, how come no matter how hard you try to perfect things the way you planned it, circumstances would not allow it? You start thinking, were your efforts not enough to achieve your goals? Or maybe it is just not meant to be? Some people may be too controlling of their lives and get burnt out fast. When this happens, your mindset tends to shift and they turn into a complete opposite of what they used to be.
Sometimes people try with all their heart to gain something but never get to see the day it happens. Take Hitler for example he tried to create a perfect world, full of perfect people but no matter how many battles he fought, how many people he killed he died before he reached his goal. The little boy rode his horse so hard and fought so hard to gain the money for his mom but in the end he died before he was able to see any sign of true
Why is it that there are certain individuals who possess the ambition and courage to achieve almost impossible missions while other people struggle to set a goal? For example Farah Ahmedi wanted to escape a war torn country, afghanistan, to Pakistan. On her way she finds a very nice man who helps her cross the border on a secret path. Annie Johnson wants to start making money for her family by making her own path in life. She sells food to factory workers and in the end she is very successful. These are the things that make people strive for their goals.
Michelangelo painted frescoes on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, and made a sculptor of David. Both the painting and the sculptor point to the great deal knowledge Michelangelo has of the Bible. On the Sistine Chapel's ceiling he painted scenes from the book of Genesis, and David the person comes from the first Book of Samuel. Michelangelo has background with the Christian Church and did many sculptures and painting for the church. The religious influence of the church could not be avoid by Michelangelo. He had been introduced to it very early in his life.
We all have goals for many areas of our lives. Some of us want successful relationships, some like to get more money, others want simply happiness in their lives and others seek better health with less weight. These are common goals, and we sometimes fail or succeed in achieving them. The general question is: Why we don't achieve those goals? Why we don't become successful in these goals?
