“Free at last, free at last. Thank God almighty we are free at last.” This was a famous quote given by Martin Luther King Jr. when he was offended by racism and that different skin colored people were not treated the same, and that they did not have the same rights. On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King Jr. gave his inspirational “I have a Dream” speech over at the Lincoln Memorial to stop to inspire other and many different African-Americans and to change the law of different rights due to your skin color. After Martin Luther King Jr. died in 1968 Coretta continued her work of being the president and chief executive of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center. Coretta and Martin Luther king had four children, which were Martin Luther King III, Yolanda, Bernice, and Dexter. They all had different jobs. Martin Luther King III serves as the president of the SCLC, which is abbreviated for, Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Yolanda became an actress. Bernice chose to be a lawyer and a Baptist minister. Finally, Dexter ran the King Library and Archive. In 1955, Coretta Scott King gave the ownership of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center to her son Dexter. On August 2005 Coretta Scott King had a heart attack and a stroke, and later died on January 30,2006 (History.com). Martin Luther King Jr. was the son of Michael King Sr. and Alberta Williams King. Martin Luther King Jr’s Father (Michael King Sr.) was a pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church upon the death of his father-in-law in 1931. Michael King Sr. became a successful minister, and adopted the name Martin Luther King Sr. from the German Protestant religious leader Martin Luther. grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and went to a public school at age 5. Martin Luther King Jr. attended Booker T. Washington High School, where he was said to be a precious student. He skipped both the ninth grade and eleventh, and later on entered at Morehouse College in Atlanta at age 15, in 1994. On April 3, he told his supporters, "I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight that we, as a people, will get to the promised land"(Biography.com). The next day, Martin Luther King Jr. stood on a balcony outside of his room and was currently staying at the Lorraine Motel. Martin Luther King Jr. later on was shot by a sniper's bullet. The shooter was a malcontent drifter and former convict was identified to be known as James Earl Ray. James Earl Ray was eventually apprehended after a two-month, international manhunt. The death of Martin Luther King Jr. sparked riots and demonstrations in more than 100 cities across the country. In 1969, Ray pleaded guilty to the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., and was sentenced to 99 years in prison. James Earl Ray died in prison on April 23,
