As I walk onto the white-sanded beach my fears vanish. The ocean breeze sweeps away my fears and carries them out to sea. The heavy stress that I carry on my aching back and my gut wrenching worries fade away into the glistening morning sun, it casts a shadow of the things that I leave behind as I walk toward the ocean. The fully loaded anxiety that fills my body slowly dumps like oil into ice cold water. And all that is left is the overwhelming feeling of complete relaxation.
The beach is still. What once was golden with colour and joy, now lies dull colourless and blind. Waves crashing onto the moiled sand as the taste of sand over wheals my mouth. Not a body to be seen across the vast graveyard, the colour of grey drags in the air caving in on my every breath. While the only source of light comes from the moons reflection on the water. Playground swings sway hauntingly alone, not a bike or a skateboard anywhere nor a crack of laughter or a pep of moan. The smell of Fish and Chips has disappeared and so has the sight of crowds cheering the skateboards on. The sound of the ocean makes the atmosphere feel abandoned, dark, alarming but relaxed. Seaweed heads and shells lay undisturbed among the sand
I walked out onto the still white sand of fort Myers Beach and inhaled the peaceful air. The sand twisted around in between my toes as I was walking towards the calm ocean. I looked back and can see the beautiful palm trees sway in a relaxed, controlled way. The sun shone off the ocean just enough to make the water sparkle. I heard the quiet voices of the tourists that were sprawled out in the sand soaking in the easeful beam of the sun. I laid my towel on the sand and spread myself on it. My skin absorbed the rays just enough to make me feel warm. It was heavenly to spend time and laze in the sun. It was like the world was full of peace. At that very instant I felt stress free. I sipped my ice cold water and felt the chill of water travel
After traveling for 3-hours, my family arrived at our beach house in Ocean City Maryland. After making a quick trip for groceries, we decided to go to bed and set alarm clocks for early in the morning. After a good nights sleep, I woke up to the pleasant smell of bacon and eggs. After feasting on a delightful breakfast, my brothers and I began to get ready for the beach. We went down the creaky wooden stairs of our beach house and unlocked the storage room located beneath the home. I decided to carry both of the floral umbrellas while my brothers took the portable beach chairs. After grabbing all of our gear, we headed back up the weathered stairs and towards the distant sand dunes. As we approached the entrance of the sand dunes, the satisfying sounds of the ocean's waves started to become closer and closer. Once we traveled closer, the vivid orange sun began to ascend from the deep sea. At this early point in the morning, the sand walkway enclosed by
It took my breath away. We were on a cliff edge made of sharp, black lava rock. The hotel lobby looked out onto the ocean. I cherished this moment. The waves were calming and water looked as if it was dancing beneath the sunlight. It was a rich, blue in some spots and in others a bright, aquamarine, light green. Streaks of purple and turquoise speckled on the surface on the water. I hadn’t seen anything like it before. The shimmering, creamy, white sand gleamed in the sun’s heat. As the blue waves crashed against the black lava rock, the water sprang into the air shooting a light mist in the sky. The Grand Bliss truly is a beautiful destination. Waiting for our hotel room to be ready my family and I walked down to the beach to a little seating place called Mandy’s. I loved the feeling of the warm sand squishing under my feet it made my calf muscles clench to keep myself balanced. I stopped walking just before the tide touched my toes. I craved the water touching my skin so, at that exact moment so I tore off my tank top that I was wearing on top of my bathing suit and just stood there taking it all in, the sun on my bare tanned shoulders, the warm, comfortable sand beneath my feet, and the insane need to jump into the salty
The ocean strokes land with calm and reassuring hands, lacing water with sand and lifting seashells in its wake. My heart urges me forward, to walk among the peace, to capture the sweet smell of sea salt. My brain reasons with the rest of my body. Turning sharply from the churning water I force my feet to leave the warm imprint they have grown to love
I can’t help but breathe in the bitter sweet scent of fresh salt water as I transport myself from one side of the beach to the next. I feel the cool breeze caressing my body, as I walk by, its fingers run down my dripping wet spine. After finding a spot to set our things down my friends and I walk towards the water. I step into the deep blue and I feel the grainy sand massaging my toes while the strong waves pull me into their arms. The water then glides in my ears, in the distance I hear my friends calling. They swim towards me and yell “summer is finally here!”
The peaceful scenery of the ocean relaxed every muscle in my body. My constant thoughts seemed to disappear along with all the stress I carried. The tired expressions my family once wore were no longer present. Every bad thing that exists in this world vanished as the cool breeze from the sea engulfed me. Trees swayed in the wind and the sun hovered high in the sky. The sun shined bright in the sky and reflected itself off the blue sea. Sparkles from the suns reflection on the ocean blinded those who dared to look out onto the beautiful sea.
Waves crashed on the shore, the next one louder than the last with the wind picking up more and more. Mother Superior warned everyone of her power, sending chills up the spine. It made me long for a sense of warmth, a sense of connection and stability with someone, something. The cloudy sky and rough waters merged together in the distance, signaling hope that maybe there was a peaceful scene to come. It was within myself, also, that I was hoping to come to an inner peace.
The sound of the emerald green ocean water crashing against the shores filled my ears. Children ran along the shore, smiling from ear to ear while laughing amongst each other clearly enjoying their day. Some people were searching contently for sea shells, that were visible for miles. I looked out at the ocean, it stretched out far into the horizon; as far as my eyes could see. There were jetty’s that were perfectly placed within the ocean. I could smell the salt radiating off of the water. I had been waiting for this moment for a long time; I dashed into the ocean I’d been waiting for for the past
After saying a quick hello to grandma and leaving our stuff in our rooms, we thought it would be best to hurry and go swimming, so we’d have a full five hours until it got dark. When I first stepped onto the sandy beach the sand tickled my toes and I giggled happily. I could hear the waves gently lapping the shore and I could smell the murky waters. I ran without hesitation into the water and was content.
As I got out of the car, the scorching heat of midday coated my body. The thermostat read 95 degrees, and it felt that way. My family and I retrieved our gear for the beach, and walked out to find a spot along the sand to set our towels. We placed them in a spot free of many people, and as soon as I placed my towel down, I looked across the sand to the water. The first thing that came to my mind was how the ocean would feel. This was my first time on a legitimate beach, so my mind was completely blank on what to expect. This did not stop my imagination, however, and I curiously thought about how the water would feel, and what creatures lurked below the waves. One thought that popped into my head was sharks, but seeing the number of people that were enjoying the water free of fear, the thought vanished from my mind almost as fast as it

At this early point in the morning, the sand walkway surrounded by dunes hadn’t heated up from the sun, so it had a nice cold feeling of the sand between each toe. Upon reaching the shore, we noticed that not many beachgoers had set up their chairs or umbrellas. We took this opportunity
What do I get most anxious about when I go to the beach? Sprinting, tearing, racing to the ocean. Regarding nothing but the crystal blue, balmy, water and feeling pure contentment. But in my rush to get to the water, my care for the surrounding sights seem to slip my mind. I glance around, and at first sight one might see a few teenagers on summer break, in their Nemo colored swimsuits and shameless black sunglasses, gamboling around and bubbling with joy. You might see the few mothers daring enough to bring their giggling toddlers wearing bright bubblegum pink hats that match the shade of their sweet, sun burnt, little, cheeks. Look around a little more. Open your eyes a little wider. Skim the surface of the water topped with chalky white foam and teeming with meager little creatures of the sea whose shells spiral around
I can remember the day clearly as if it were yesterday. The sand covering my feet was shining brightly with resilient sunlight. The tides crashed gently against the sand as if caressing it. The wind carried on casually; at times I felt no breeze at all, as if the wind itself stopped for a second to enjoy the relaxing scene. This day marked the beginning of our annual family beach journeys.
The sun’s rays glisten across the water as my family and I lie on the golden sands of the beach to relax. Seagulls and other families are scattered around us along the length of the beach. My mom, my sister, and I lie next to each other, listening to the waves crashing against the ocean bank.
